Summary: Jade and Soul have some hot cocoa and chill out.
Rating: Not above PG, and I doubt it'll even get to that.
Log: [It's early in the afternoon and Jade is standing outside Sprout Tower, waiting for Soul. It's just about the time they'd agreed on to meet up, so he should be here any minute now! She got there a little earlier than expected; it hadn't taken as long to get to the tower from the hotel as she thought it would.

She's pretty excited about this! Not only has she been interested in checking out the tower, but Soul seems like a pretty cool guy and she's really interested in hearing more about the world he came from. She wishes she'd had more to tell him about the world she came from, but she'd really been out of the loop and missed most of the interesting stuff that had been going on. Being asleep for most of their session certainly didn't help...

She snaps out of her thoughts in time to see Soul off in the distance. She excitedly waves and yells to him, jumping up and down a bit.]

[Streeeeetch, and gets himself comfortable in his chair.]

So. What all did you wanna know?

Well... You said something about you being a demon hunter back home. I want to hear more about that! And... as much as you want to tell me about your world, really!

Ooooh, boy. Get comfy, it'll be a bit long.

[He just decides to make their cocoa now, since while he's talking'd be the best time for it. The water was warm, anyway!

So he hands her a mug full, and chills back in his chair again, letting his Pokemon get comfy, too.]

[She smiles as she takes the cocoa from Soul.] Thanks!

Allllrighty.

Welllp, back when I was younger --- not too much younger, of course, just like twelve or somethin' --- me and my older brother were fooling around and doing a little research on our family. We found out that, hey, I come from a long line of Weapons! Which're people that can turn into, you know, Weapons.

It was a pretty cool deal if you ask me, so I packed up and left. Went and moved across the country, to Death City, Nevada. Stupid lookin' little town at first; out in the middle of the desert, no cities around for miles, and the weirdest architecture. The room of my apartment juts out like five feet from the building. Tch. But it's grown on me.

[He pauses to sip at his cocoa in thought, then continues.]

Well, I moved there, because of their world famous academy --- the Death Weapon/Meister Academy, or DWMA, ran by Lord Death himself. He's basically the grim reaper -- a god of death, you know? Single handedly locked up the baddest demon our world's ever known. He runs it in hopes that someone in his school'll collect enough demon souls --- or Kishin eggs, as I know'em --- and a Witch soul to become a Death Scythe; one of his personal Weapons.

So we learn how to be good Weapons for our Meister, Meisters leearn how to be good for their Weapons, and in return, we travel about the world collecting Kishin eggs and Witch souls.

[He pauses again, only because he's wondering if he should go on. But he does!]

Well, we were for a while. Until some big bad Witch reared her head in Italy. She was something else --- totally strong, and completely ruthless. Sly like a goddamn snake.
We couldn't kill her, of course. And I ended up getting nearly killed protecting Maka from one of her cronies.

[Baps his chest a bit.]

Got a scar to show from it, too. And yet Maka insists on being that guy's friend. Feh.
Whatever -- if there's anyone that can make a guy a good guy, it's her. Just look at me.

[She takes a sip of her cocoa and just kind of stares and blinks for a second because OH MAN, THAT WAS A LOT TO TAKE IN.]

Oh, wow! It sounds like you've been through a lot... Your world sounds really cool, though! I'm pretty sure there aren't people who can turn into weapons in my world...

And... What was it like to talk to the Grim Reaper? Or did you get to talk to him?

He kinda rambles a lot --- he's pretty damn old, you know --- and he's never really straightforward when he doesn't want you to know what's going on.
But he's pretty cool, for an old coot.

And --- heh. I'm pretty sure my world's the only one that can. Maybe.
But if you meet Maka, be nice, kay? Though that's not really a problem with you.

Huh. I guess it would make sense for him to be old... even though I never really thought about it before! And I guess maybe he figures there's just some stuff you don't need to know?

And of course I will!

Well, of course. That's just how the school runs --- we're not really supposed to know anything but what he teaches us.

[He leans back in his chair again, and finishes off his cocoa. Man he's got so much on his mind since everyone started asking him about his world. :|]

... Hey. Can I ask you some stuff, too? Not about your world or anything.

Makes sense, I guess.

Um... Sure!

Just... wanna know what your family was like.

If it's not anything hard, of course.

Well... my family situation is pretty weird! I was raised by my grandpa... He did all sorts of things. He was an explorer, a big game hunter, an archaeologist, a naturalist, and a scientist! He collected all sorts of things, too. He died when I was little, though... I was really sad at the time, but now I'm okay! After he died, my dog Becquerel is the one who took care of me.

But apparently my grandpa wasn't even my grandpa at all-- he was my dad! And apparently John is my brother and his nanna is actually my mom! And I didn't even find any of this out until really recently. It was really surprising.

[... Well. He was not expecting that. He was almost expecting "nothing special, grew up with my parents, had an annoying sibling" or something. The usual.]

Sounds almost as messed up as a couple people I know.
They're families, I mean. Tch.

So, that John kid's your brother, huh? I really gotta meet'im, now.

It really seems a lot more screwed up now that I've said it all out loud!

He is! And... I'm sure you'll get to meet him eventually.

It's cool though. We've all got family issues, right?

He must be pretty cool to be Dave's friend, right?

[She looks INCREDIBLY THOUGHTFUL for a second.]

Hm... I'm not sure if I'd say he's really cool... but he's really nice! He likes a lot of movies... He's explained a couple of them to me but they sound kind of stupid!

[Somewhere, John feels kind of sad now and he doesn't know why.]

[Awww, Dave befriends uncool kids! That's almost enough to melt his coolkid heart. But not really. c:]

... I should get this over with now, then -- is he gonna try and go on about his favorites with me?

... Yeah. He will. He definitely will.

... What kinda flicks is he interested in? Am I going to be bored shitless?

Um... [She tries to remember some of the movies he's gone on and on to her about before.]

The only one I can really remember him talking about off the top of my head is some movie called Con Air. He went on and on about bunnies and the main character reuniting with his loving wife and daughter... It didn't sound all that boring, though!

Huh... Never heard of it.
But if it's not boring, I guess.

[shrug!]

... What kinda things are you interested in, anyway?

I think he mentioned something about explosions, too, and explosions are pretty exciting!

Well, I like gardening, making high-tech gizmos, old cartoons... I have a lot of interests, really!

Eh. I'm more of an old movies fan, anyway.

[A little chuckle] Don't stop there --- we may have something in common!
Something we can do when Dave and Karkat are busy, well....
You know. Dave doing his Strider thing, and Karkat training on his lonesome. Tch.

Hehehe. I don't really watch many movies at all!

Well... I liked to play the eclectic bass back home, and I'd like to think I was pretty good at it! I kind of wish I had my bass here... [She looks a little sad.]
