Synthesizing!
Who: Roxas and Sora
Where: Goldenrod City
When: Backdated to Thursday
Summary: Synthesizing! Pokemon world style! Sora thinks it's possible. Roxas agrees to help. Explosions ensue.
Rating: PG at most?
Log:
Roxas sat by the small bar of sand that he had found by the Goldenrod radio tower. It seemed like a good place to conduct their experiment. It wasn't that close to the town, and it was right by the ocean in case anything went wrong. After finding it, he had sent a message to Sora about it, and now he was waiting.
He wasn't sure how he was going to talk with Sora. Talking with Ven had helped, even though he still felt a little jealous. That probably wasn't going to go away. But still, he had to say something to Sora now. Granted, his envy of Sora ran a bit deeper than his envy of Ven. Sora had everything that he wanted, got to do a lot that Roxas didn't. Still, he'd cross that bridge when he got to it. All he had to do was wait.

There had been that one nobody moogle in the World that Never Was, and he always knew what he was doing, it seemed. Roxas kind of liked him.
He paused for a moment, glancing at the eevee. He figured it was one of Sora's new pokemon, and held a hand out for the pokemon to sniff. There was a flash of light, and Axel the Growlithe had popped out to say hello.

The Eevee had been sniffing at Roxas' hand curiously, but the second GIANT DOG-- well, to the Eevee, anyway-- appeared, he immediately retreated back into the hood with a terrified squeak. Sora glanced over his shoulder with a half sigh, half shrug.
"Sorry about that... it's really easy to spook him."
no subject
Roxas sighed, glancing at his fire dog, who whined, trying to explain his side. He hadn't meant to scare the Eevee.
"It's alright. I think Axel was just trying to be friendly. Since it's colder I don't really let him out of his pokeball that much."
no subject
And Sora twisted around a bit, fishing the Eevee out of his hood and plopping him down on the ground. "Go on, he won't bite you!"
The Eevee squeaked in protest-- maybe nudging him with his shoe will help. ... And it did, he took off running and barreled right into the Growlithe's chest, though the furball was really too small to be battling yet, or even to do any damage. Eevee used Headbutt! It's not very effective...
no subject
"Where did you get the eevee from?" Roxas asked, giving Axel a small pat.
no subject
"He was a Christmas present from Ven! Actually, I just came up with a name for him the other day," Sora replied, tucking his hands behind his head. Er, well. He had a name, and a backup name.
no subject
Axel gave the eevee another nudge, with a slight whine. 'You okay little guy?'
no subject
The Eevee waved his tiny paws wildly at the nudge, then rolled over to hop back up, fur floofed out all crazy like. All good over here! Sheesh giant dog, you're kind of like a wall compared to Eevee.
no subject
Axel is still a puppy, but he had grown since Christmas. Here, he'll lie down so he's a little closer to the fluffy pokemon.
no subject
Sora paused to watch the little Eevee as he rose to stand on his hind legs, and planted his tiny paws on Axel's snout almost curiously. He didn't know all that much about Roxas other than their connection and that he wanted to be his own person, so that'd been the only comparison he'd been able to make.
"I think he'll be all right, though. He just hasn't found what makes him special yet. Y'know, unique from the other Eevees."
no subject
"He'll figure it out," He said finally, before looking at his growlithe. "You need to live up to the guy I named you after, alright?"
Axel nodded, staring down at the eevee, and ultimately putting up with the paws on the nose.

There was something else Sora wanted to ask, too, but he was having a rare moment when he couldn't find the right words for it-- if Roxas turned to look at him, he might find Sora staring in his direction, lips pressed together in a thoughtful line.
no subject
"What is it?" Roxas asked, glancing at Sora. He could trust his Growlithe to be a good watchdog.
no subject
Sora scratched at his cheek, frowning very slightly in thought. "Well, I... Can you promise me something, Roxas?"
no subject
"Like what?" Roxas asked, a little wary. He wasn't someone to agree to something until he knew all the facts.
no subject
no subject
"I...I don't know if that's possible, for me," He said finally, considering what would happen if he did go back. "But I'll try."
no subject
no subject
"I will, if I ever end up there," He said, finally. "Although, I don't plan on returning home any time soon. I still have a champion to beat."
no subject
"Right, and you'll kick that champion's butt," Sora agreed with a slight smile, somehow feeling like a weight was lifted right off his chest. "Can't do that without elixirs though, right?"
no subject
"I guess not," he said, and then paused. He couldn't back away from this now.
"Sora, I also have something to tell you. I...I'm really jealous you."
no subject
Why Roxas might be jealous could have been obvious to maybe anybody but Sora-- but he'd always figured RIku was the better one. The one to dote on, even. So that look of confusion on Sora's face was an honest one.
no subject
It was a bit easier to admit to now. But it was still hard.
no subject
So Roxas simply got an upset frown from his Other, head lowered and eyes slightly lifted to look at him through brown bangs.
no subject
"I just felt I should let you know."

He paused again, not entirely sure where he was going with this. Forward seemed like a better direction than being sad over things- so Sora bent down, evolution stones out of his pockets and in his hands- on the ground as he sorted through them.
"So... let's just try to do whatever makes you happiest. Okay?"
No worries. /still owes you a fic
"I will. So, let's try and synthesize something."
