[Kaito had been drifting about Violet ever since his group had arrived in the dreary city, mostly performing small tricks for pocket change as he waited for Kay's dad to arrive. The past few days had given him a lot to think about, so the time he spent alone was something he was grateful for.
His wanderings had brought him to the schoolyard some time that afternoon, but the empty buildings and playground pretty much ensured the fact that he wouldn't be getting any business done here today. With a sigh, he turned on his heel to leave, only to stop when he saw a familiar face walking briskly from the swing set to the front of the schoolhouse.
