Summary: Kirby refuses to let Meta Knight travel alone, for selfless and selfish reasons.

To say that Kirby had been excited when first hearing Meta Knight's voice was an understatement. While he wasn't like most arrivals and had actually loved being pulled to this new world to explore, it had been a little strange to get used to his new body and the loss of his powers. Even though it didn't quite distress him, a familiar face was more than wonderful to see, even if seeing the face itself was a bit startling. It didn't feel quite like Meta Knight without the mask, but then again, the only thing he had that Kirby could recognize was the flowing cape.

He and Chuchu had left Hughes behind, rushing back along Route 29 as fast as they could. Thankfully, his speed and endurance had carried over, and he hit the halfway point with time to spare.

"Meta Knight!"

The reply was met with a happy noise, Chuchu giving Meta Knight a curious look now that she was seeing the man in the flesh. Kirby had no such hesitation, however, and quickly ran over in an attempt to wrap his arms around the much taller male.

"Meta Knight!"

He frowns instantly when Kirby makes contact, but something tells him that Kirby need a hug. After a moment he declared the contact over and gently pushed him off, no hugs too long.

"How fare you? You haven't missed me too much, correct?"

Hey, even a short hug was more than he could usually get, considering almost every time they seemed to meet instantly fell into a fight. Kirby released at the push, still beaming brightly at him.

"Not much, kuyo, but it's still good to see you, pyaa!"

Chuchu floated up to Kirby's head, settling herself in the hair the same color as her.

"Well I-"

"...I see you have acquired a pokemon as well."

Scyther appears from behind Meta Knight and lands ahead of the two. Showing off a little.

Chuchu hops a bit in surprise, before bouncing over to peer to at Midori curiously. Kirby takes a look at the Scyther a bit more closely himself, then giggles.

"It fits you, puyo!"

"Indeed she does."

Pidgey lands on his shoulder as if on cue.

Kirby smiles at the Pidgey, waving at it a bit. It was nice to see that it seemed just as happy as his own to be with Meta Knight. Chuchu seemed satisfied, before trying to float her way up to pop on Midori's head.

Midori blinks and looks at the pink ball who has just landed on her head.

"Scyther?"

The Pidgey huffs and turns away.

"...They are a colorful group."

"Yup, kuyo."

Chuchu smiles, patting Midori on the nose happily as if it's completely normal for her to rest on a strange Pokemon's head. Kirby adjusts his hoodie, still not quite used to it, and looks back behind them before turning to Meta Knight again.

"Come on, puyo! Cherrygrove's close, and the first gym's just past that, aiyaa!"

"Kirby. Patience is a virtue. Did you not just run all the way here? We are not in our normal bodies and do not know the extent of these human ones."

"I haven't had any problems with it, puyo. I can run the same as before, pyaa, without any trouble."

"Don't push yourself to much." Meta Knight loves to battle with you, knowing you aren't hurt beforehand.

"I don't, pyaa!"

Kirby puts his hands on his hips, giving Meta Knight his best attempt at a stern look... though it comes out more like a pout.

"I'm fine, kuyo."

He thinks that's amusing but refuses to smile.

"Very well, then. If you fall though...do not expect me to pick you up."

He pats Kirby's shoulder.

"But, I will help you stand if you need the help."

"I know, kyaa!"

Kirby has no such restriction, and smiles brightly at Meta Knight at that. Coo, finally curious, flits down from his perch in the branches to peer at the Pidgey curiously.

"Did you name yours, puyo?"

"Midori Senshi. Or Morisen for short."

The Scyther stands tall and proud at the call of her name.

"Ki-Kasshoku Fenikusu. Kikakusu."

The Pidgey looks just as proud as Scyther.

Kirby looks a bit baffled at the names, just tilting his head a little at Meta Knight. Chuchu, on the other hand, giggles at them, tapping Midori on the nose playfully.

"This is Chuchu and Coo. Hiiru's still sleeping, kuyo, because she was really tired."

"Hm. Training your pokemon?"

"Of course, kyaa. If I don't, how are we gonna duel against each other?"

With that, Meta Knight gains a smile.

"True. Everso true, Kirby."

"I'm glad you're here, pyaa! It wouldn't be as fun without you to train against, kuyo!"

"It wouldn't be interesting to train against another."

"Shall we try now?"

"Sure, kyaa!"

Chuchu puffed her chest up, bouncing over to take her position in front of Kirby.

"Let us try you first, Kikakusu?"

The Pidgey nods and takes flight. Meta Knight takes a few steps back.

Kirby grins a little, shifting his stance to face down Meta Knight.

Seemingly knowing what to do to start, Chuchu bounced up, putting on her cutest face and giving Kikakusu a wink and a quite 'buff~', attempting to catch him in Charm.

Kikakusu unfortunately gaps at Chuchu and almost makes a full nose dive into the ground. It takes flight again trying to regain focus and looks down at Chuchu again.

"...Let us try a different tactic. Gust."

It obeys and sends winds towards Chuchu, because of charm they aren't as potent as they would be before the move was used.

Chuchu is hit by the sharp wind, rolling back somewhat before bouncing back to her feet, puffed up and clearly angry.

"Pound!"

She doesn't hesitate at the order, leaping up to punch Kikakusu square on the beak.

Kikakusu flails a bit trying to get higher but that only causes Chuchu to punch his torso and send him spiraling higher into the sky. Meta Kngiht looks up following his pokemon, as it regains it's balance it looks down at Meta Knight.

"...Tackle."

It swoops down using 'Gust' to quicken itself and attempts a tackle from above Chuchu.
