this may not be my lucky day

Who: [livejournal.com profile] usedswitcheroo & [livejournal.com profile] reimprovise
Where: Goldenrod Game Corner!
When: February 20 ; afternoon.
Summary: Fuji and Daisuke go to the game corner! Shenanigans will ensue.
Rating: G? No higher than a PG.
Log:

This... is the Game Corner, right? Doesn't look too different from a casino. [He meekly looks around, looking over the card flipping games, voltorb flips, and the slot machines.] It says we need to have coins here.

[Well, the Game Corner doesn't look too busy and there are some kids there too! ... Too bad their lucks are pretty bad. Their faces don't look so good when they try any of the three games.]

... Are you sure we should be here?

[Fuji, for one, is a little put off by all the fancy flashing lights and shenanigans. However, he had been curious, and he was the one who dragged them, on a whim, to a place like this, so he merely chuckles.]

The PG version of a casino, maybe. [Amusement, it's radiating off of him.] Have you ever been to one? A casino, I mean, back in your world.

[He blinks twice and chuckles under his breath.]

Definitely more flashy, and not anywhere near PG. [However, he takes the coin case and opens it with consideration.] It doesn't seem like she left us with any coins, though. For a coin case, it's a little empty.

Let's go buy some.

We're definitely not here for the food.

[But man is he cheerful. He drags Daisuke over to the counter to peer curiously at the signs plastered around like neon decorations.]

... funny, it doesn't say. Hang on--

[And he wanders off into the crowd with a backwards wave.

Approximately five minutes later, he reemerges, shaking a jangling coin case and wearing a smile of utmost innocence.]
Well, that takes care of that. Thirty should be enough between the two of us, right?

Knew I could count on you to take care of all the complicated math. [/teases]

[He follows, amiably. Upon reaching the machines, he scrutinizes it.]

Have you ever used one of these before?

[Fuji, in response... jams in the coins and gives it an experimental tug. Humming, he glances at the resulting uneven rows.] A little faster than I thought it would be, though.

I wonder how often do you have to play, to get proficient with this sort of thing.

[He shrugs, and tugs on the lever again. Uneven rows, huh.] Maybe. I thought there'd be something universal to it, though, with the way that a lot of people tend to get addicted.

[Matching luck for luck, huh. His third throw doesn't yield any better results.]

Or maybe the marketing campaign for it is just too successful.

[He shrugs, and gets up, already more or less bored of the machines.] I'll go take a look at the card tables. Let's meet up again after, say, an hour?

[He throws a glance over to the prize table in consideration.]

Oh, I don't know. 'Enough' sounds like a good number, doesn't it?

Thanks. You too.

[Aaaand he wanders over to the card tables to do what he does best -- swindle people when they least expect it.

Timeskip to an hour later! He'll just be wandering the game corner in search of you, Daisuke, since they never really picked a place to reconvene.]

[When he sidles up to Daisuke and glances over the winnings, he gives an incredulous laugh. Coming up from behind the other, he grins, amused.]

Planning on clearing out the store?

... What exactly did you do to those machines?
