(no subject)

Who: [livejournal.com profile] usedsuperpower and [livejournal.com profile] blacklodged
Where: Goldenrod back alleys
When: Late afternoon
Summary: Stitch is breaking Goldenrod, Cooper does not approve
Rating: PG for violence.. I think
Log:

Overturned trash cans, windows smashed left and right, reversed street signs, and left shoes mysteriously strewn all over the place is what's decorating the streets of Goldenrod this fine day!
Should one follow the trail of senseless destruction and venture to the dingy back alleys, things get even worse. Shattered windows seems to be the vandal's main ingredient - and any sensible person with any kind of self-perservance would turn tail and not follow.

But you know, curiosity killed the cat.

Should you defy your insticts, the vandal himself isn't far away. The sound of breaking windows should reach you soon. Stitch might not notice you at first, but you better be careful. He is armed with a steel pipe.

Cooper isn't armed. That's one of the first things he noticed when he found himself in Johto - that his gun was gone. And while not exactly worried, there was definitely a sense of being exposed without it, since he's had some kind of weapon on him for so long. For years.

He's still not armed. This registers fully when he follows the trail of bread crumbs that is the mess that looks extremely out of place. Even if he'd only been in Goldenrod for a short period of time, he could tell it was a city well cared for. Like most things in this world (and one of the many things he thought his own could learn from), it seemed respected, in harmony ... clean.

Reasonably priced.

Which was precisely why the small destruction stuck out like a sore thumb and made Cooper follow it. He's not a reckless man, but for as long as he can remember, he's never had it in him to leave things unchecked, unturned. Life has always been an investigation. And it will probably always be.

Stepping carefully on the broken glass beneath his feet, he takes note of the alley stretching out in front of him, the not-quite-setting sun making the shadows look just a little too long. It's not dark. It's somehow typical.

At the sound of glass breaking, Cooper stills, eyes narrowing as he looks towards a figure that is easily made out but not identified further away.

Follow at a discreet distance. Remember the face especially, make a good description, report it to local authorities.

A good plan. Even if Cooper has serious doubts with the law enforcement here, he knows it's not his place to attempt to do their job, for several reasons. Such as the fact that he doesn't know the law. He might get in the way of the people who do and are tasked with upholding.

But that doesn't stop him from being an FBI Agent, because he is. And his job is to fight crime. Granted, this isn't something he'd normally deal with - he's called in to work with the bad things, the kidnappings and bank robberies and serial killers - and this is just a case of - wreaking havoc.

Still, it's obvious that this kind of aggressive behaviour can quickly pose a threat to innocent people. And since he knows the other knows he's there, as made apparent by the sudden tension in strange figure, Cooper holds his hands up to show he's unarmed. He's not going to run from this. In a way, there's something familiar about the potential for danger here. Even if he doesn't like it, and never will, this is still something he can do.

Reasoning. It doesn't always work, but he's already guessed who this might be ... and it worked out alright that time, maybe two months ago.

stop saying that about everything xD

Stitch is fast.

Cooper is too. This is in his training and his attention for detail helps his case. He gets out of the way, calculated, as Stitch is in not a perfect spot, but a spot that will do, and hits him hard in a shoulder where the fabric of his jacket is torn.

The agent guessed he's hurt there. The way Stitch's hold of the steel pipe immediately slackens tells Cooper he was right, and he quickly grabs hold of the metal in the alien's hands, wanting to release it from his grip before he can do any more, any real damage with it.

The scuffle makes the broken glass beneath their shoes crunch slightly and it sounds a little bit like snow. Stitch is fighting back furiously, like an animal, and Cooper has a hard time trying to both restrain him and wrestle the steel away, but damn he's going to try to manage both.

Cooper breathes in sharply, but doesn't otherwise acknowldge the pain - at least not visibly. He's been through worse, much worse, but the sheer force of that bite is surprising and nothing he'd counted on. Hell, he hadn't imagined being bitten. That had never happened to him before.

"Stitch", he says with a forced calm, practically breathing the name out, "this will have consequences."

He presses his arm into the kid's mouth, because trying to do the opposite will only hurt more, and this will hopefully force the alien's mouth open. It hurts. He can feel the throbbing from where those teeth are pressing down, and he thinks his coat is ruined, unsure of how much damage Stich has done to what lies beneath.

(ooc: bah short. also how many times have we not acted this out xD)

Cooper ducks. He can feel the scratch, and it's shallow, and for that reason not very important right now - he instead grabs Stitch's arm again, holding him with quite a lot of force, having realized the amount that's in the kid itself.

He hasn't forgotten one of their first conversations. "Created me for destruction. Only reason of me is to destroy." While Cooper never doubted this, this behaviour is proof if he ever needs it. Aimless destruction is rare in his field of work. There is usually a system in the madness, something that is targeted.

Stitch isn't targetting anything. Stitch is teeth and claws and violence in a way that isn't exactly unfamiliar, but uncommon. The apparent mindset at work here, however, is completely alien to the Agent.

Restraining him now (harshly, despite the pain in his right arm), he stares into as much of Stitch's face as he can see from this angle, knowing that he is capable of reasoning and hoping to get through to him, his tone is urgent but firm.

"Stop it."

(ooc: but it was way fun hahaha. we're such kids.)

The jerk was enough to break halfway free from his grip, actually - despite his willpower, the movement was enough to make his hold falter, and with a curse he doesn't say but definitely thinks, Cooper now only holds onto one of Stitch's arms with his left hand, his right arm hurting.

The kick doesn't hit, but only because Cooper avoids it. In doing so, he decides to completely let go of the other rather than risk their roles being reversed. He does not want to let Stitch get a hold on him, a possibility entirely too probable if he'd held on.

He eyes the alien quietly, something very tense in his face. Cooper typically tries to avoid violence. Seems he'd be unable to do so here.

He could turn away from it. In many ways, that would be the most sensible thing to do. But he has a feeling that Stitch might not let him, and he doesn't trust him to.

The alien is strong. Cooper throws an arm out behind him to steady himself as he loses his balance for just a second, feeling his palm hit the scratchy surface of the bricks behind him and a small ray of pain shooting up his arm. It's his left. His right is raised, hand forming the sign to stop that anyone would recognize.

The sleeve is torn. So is the black fabric beneath it. As is, probably, his skin. He can feel where the bruising will be.

Cooper looks at Stitch in a way that answers his demand with a simple "okay".

"I'll go", he says, voice carefully controlled. I'll go to the police and hope they charge you on account of several offences is what he doesn't say. He figures Stich isn't stupid and will probably try to avoid prison, but Cooper isn't stupid enough to attempt this fight if he's being given a way out.

But he's not just going to make a break for it and turn his back on Stitch, either. That's stupid enough to be called idiotic.
