Down on the Farm... er, Ranch.

Who: Ash, Konata, Smoker, Kazooie, Kairi, Vash and OPEN (Also Open to Backlogging)
Where: Pokemon Ranch (Violet City-Route 31)
When: Midday, June 16th (Or other time, since I've been gone, if you want to backlog, just let me know we can do it here. That's anyone who wants to battle, talk, or get a Pokemon Egg.)
Summary: Ash is putting up Konata in the Barn, Vash is starting his new career, and Smoker is ready for a Magikarp battle. Later, Kairi joins in to train in prep for the Violet Gym battle. (And other stuff if someone wants to join in.)

The sun gleams off the snow-white metal roof of the Pokemon Ranch's barn. It sits against a small lake, and the doors face an open field of green and tan-colored grass. Several clouds drift lazily off overhead, a pleasant sight after the recent storms. A few berry plants can be seen to the edge of the field, near a small patch of forested area, where several bird Pokemon can be seen flying about from it into the blue sky.

The wide, red barn door opens on the right side, Ash coming into the sun as he walks with the door. A bright-yellow Mareep trots out happily, finding it's way into the field to nip at grass for the remainder of the day. Ash stands and looks out over the Ranch, a smile crossing his face at the result of his hard work. He wipes his sweat-beaded brow with his sleeve and moves off to the side where there is a large trough, and flicks a switch, which fills it with water. He kneels to wash his face in the fresh water, taking care to view his reflection for dirt and grime from the day's work. After cleaning, he turns and stands, looking out to see if anyone is nearing the gate, about 40 yards away.

"Don't apologize. You weren't on a schedule or anything, Nel. How are you?"

Ash bowed a bit and approached her further.

"...true."

Nel sounded more relieved then anything as she actually opened the gate and walked to meet halfway. She did urn slightly embarrassed, though. "I am fine, though my Pokemon think otherwise. And yourself?"

"Doing well, but is something wrong with your Pokemon?"

Ash's countenance became one of concern, tilting his head a little as he questioned her. He was really looking forward to meeting her Pokemon.

"I think that they think I am doing something wrong." She forced herself to not look awkward while saying that.

"If the fact that Spinarak drags me around is any evidence, at least."

"Haha, he sounds very energetic! I don't know if that's a bad thing though. Lara is still disobedient, but she's getting better. How long have you had it?"

"I caught her just before I left Cherrygrove the first time... so a few weeks?" Nelliel taps her chin for a moment. "It started then, and has only gotten worse."

"Oh yeah? I know some Pokemon take longer to get used to their Trainers than others but..."

Ash had heard of people having problems with their Pokemon. It seemed common enough, so there must be a solution.

"You and Spinarak may not be compatible as trainer and Pokemon. Have you thought about trading him?"

"I admit, I did not know it was possible. It would not help much if she then turned on the other trainer, though." Siiigh. Silly trollspider.

"Speaking of which... you wished to meet them, yes?"

"Of course!"

Ash took a few steps back to allow her to release them between the two.

Give her a moment, one of the 'balls is lodged under her journal. Right.

Dropping her white backpack to the ground, Nel takes a moment to stare at the two red-and-white orbs, before tossing them up. Out pops a rather upset looking rock dino... and an equally grumpy spider. Oy vey.

Ash knelt down and offered his hand to both of them, seeing how they would react to him.

"Hello there!"

Sorry Ash, but you just got snubbed by a green spider. She promptly flashes a >:| face and skitters off a short distance. Meanwhile, Larvitar looks halfway ready to start crying and curious about the new person.

Nel just... stands awkwardly.

So this is why Nel is having trouble...

Ash gives a slight frown before reching into his pocket and retrieving a Berry. He holds it out in his hand, hoping one of them would warm up to him if he offered a little food.

Good idea. Larvitar perks up at the offering of food, and slowly shuffles forward. He's still cautious, but eventually reaches out to take it...

...only for a line of webbing to come from nowhere and steal it away. Psyche.

Ash's hand clenches, smashing the berry, and the web tangles around his fingers. He had a feeling this was going to happen, which is why he only offered one.

Ash pulls the Spinarak closer, if it doesn't resist too much or outright attack him.

Don't mind the sudden screech from both 'mons, and Larvitar speeding off to latch onto ~~mommy's~~ Nel's leg. The ex-Arrancar stands still, watching curiously at the proceedings.

Spinarak doesn't like these turn of events, as the >:O face on its abdomen probably shows. She skids forward a bit, before digging in her feet and screeching. Her berry!

"Spinarak. If you want a berry, you must ask for it politely."

Ash had some experience disciplining Pokemon, since his Sentret acts similarly, and he has to scold her a lot.

Nuh-huh. Spinarak isn't playing along, and only screeches again and tries to tug harder. Prideful little thing, isn't she?

"Alright then. I suppose Larvitar can have the berry."

Ash reveals a second berry, retrieved by his other hand, and hands it to Larvitar.

Okay, what. Spider-thing did not see that coming. Nelliel, however, did, and gently nudged Larvitar towards Ash.

The little guy still looks scared, moreso since the last berry was stolen and then crushed, but edges foreward again none the less. Cue the spider trying to race forward.

Ash's hand pulls on the threads, still tied to the spider's butt, which would gently jerk her away from the Larvitar.

Larvitar had already flinched, ready to accept the loss of the berry, so this was a odd turn of events for him. The little rock dino did a double take, and blunk up at Ash. "...Vi-tar?"

Spinarak is currently brb; trying to detangle self from the mess of web that the pull turned her into.

Ash kept winding the thread between his fingers, ignoring the squished berry-juice dripping down the silk. He was just going to keep Spinarak busy for the time being.

"It's okay, you can have it. It's all yours."

Maybe Ash could make an impression on both of them.

Ash has definitely made an impression on little Larvitar, and he gently takes the berry. Managing to restrain the spider at the same time? He's a rock dino's hero.

Nel is smiling an amazed little smile. So maybe we need some tips on this whole thing.

Ash took the opportunity to pat the Larvitar's head. Amazing such a shy creature could produce a sandstorm.

Meanwhile, he's still fighting with the Spinarak, hoping to keep it occupied as long as possible.

Like having an angel in one hand and a devil in the other.

Poor Larvitar must get bullied often... Wait till he evolves. Even Ariados will be like: "Aw Hell."

Larvi' is also very shy XD Bonus points: Spinarak... might not actually evolve XD
