freshbreeze. Pile on in if you're in town and want to celebrate Light-day!
Where: Lightning's room at the inn to start with, then a steakhouse called Elizabeth's.
When: Evening on March 9th
Summary: It's Lightning's birthday, time to dogpile her with love!
Rating: G
Log:
[It's evening when everybody's gathered together, hiding behind various pieces of furniture in Lightning's room. Everything's relatively still, except for the occasional startle-attempt from Lightning's Haunter, Fang. So far Fang's managed to startle a squeak out of Rise but the ghost's largely unsuccessful in antagonizing the crowd. They're all much too focused on waiting, watching for a sliver of light to indicate the door opening, listening for the telltale turn of the knob...
Any minute now, the birthday girl's going to return, and when she does, they'll be here to surprise her]
[ooc: Spam away, guys! Since we all have different schedules (and Terra-mun's without computer for a coupla days), just hit things up as you like. If somebody gets to moving things to the restaurant first, please put something in the subject line so others can follow. As a note, the employees at Elizabeth's have been made aware that it's Light's birthday and are prepared to serenade her over a slice of cake. For spamming purposes, action tags are recommended for this log]

jump/dogpile her as you see fit, everyone~
Fang, you'd better not have done anything stupid.
[She reached for the light switch, eyes still closed and leaving her unaware of the crowd she had waiting to surprise her.]

... ALMOST stumbling, but managing to reach Lightning for a hug anyway. ]

...Hey, he does it in battle back home. Enjoy that sparkly rainbow colored Rapidash confetti in your hair, Lightning]
Happy birthday, Lightning!

How...how long have you been waiting to do that?
no subject
A...while?
[Best not to let her know he's been waiting for this for a good long time]
no subject
That doesn't surprise me. [And it's best to not let her know that. At all. But have a tiny, barely there smile, Ven.]

He doesn't exactly join the cheer when the lights come on, but there is a smile on his face. He'll just let the younger ones get their hugs in before he moves in to congratulate her. ]

...He'd been in on this? She'd known there was something strange about how much he'd put into that spar this morning, even if she'd enjoyed it. Now it was making sense. Still, she'd wait to ask and just nodded in greeting.]

From behind the couch, one excited Serah lept - yes, lept all the way over to Light to embrace her, along with Rise. And Light, you should be expecting more than just these two.]
Liiiiight! Happy birthday!
no worries~
...Yeah.

Picking a piece of confetti out of Light's hair, she let it fall to the ground then smiled at her sister.]
C'mon, be happy! Trust me, this birthday will be fantastic. [better than the last, at least.]

Soooo, little sis, you know her best. How do you think we're doing?
no subject
Hmmmm. I think we're doing great, actually! She's smiling. It's... still a little weird to see that so frequently, but it's wonderful. And she seems quite taken with you, Rise. Almost makes me a little jealous.

So Hope's just waiting for his turn, hands behind his back, and once the crowd's cleared he's walking towards her.]

Boundaries that she doesn't bother putting back up even after she's been released, and she turns to offer Hope a tiny smile. She's glad he's here for this, really.]
Hope.

[He finally takes his hands from behind his back. It's not a big present, really-- it hadn't taken him a whole roll of wrapping paper to doll it up. Just... well, a good deal of yesterday to figure out how to wrap something without making a huge mess of it.
It's a small box in red paper, really. Hope's spent his money, even the past money he had during his last stay in Johto on this.]

He steps out into the Violet city evening, enjoying the coolness on his skin. He didn't realize until he came outside just how warm it was in there. ]

Catching sight of Leon not far off, she turned and walked in his direction. Something about him seemed...different now. She just couldn't tell if it was Leon himself that had changed or her view of him, but it didn't matter. Not with the familiar and comforting weight of the knife he'd given her still in her pouch.]
