Where: Goldenrod
When: 03/27/2011, afternoon
Summary: The two go sightseeing. An egg exchanges hands, an eevee is born and two tennis players act like total girls as they pick out the right baseball cap for Gen the Chikorita.
Rating: PG
The morning was an interesting experience. What started out as a mishap with a Skitty and three bottles of ketchup ended up with Fuji sporting a claw marks up his arms and an empty bottle of air freshener which he had used to cover up the permeating smell of artificial tomatoes. Somewhere down the line on his quest to replace his bottle of much-loved air freshener, he had met Yukimura, and one thing led to another, as things wont to do, they struck up a nice conversation over lunch about nothing in particular. Then, remembering the small, wrapped bundle still sitting on the dresser drawer he had invited the other boy over after they split the tab.
Now, they were standing before Fuji's hotel room door. While the door itself was nothing particularly intimidating, the blue-eyed boy was staring at it with the unease of someone who really didn't want to get this over with.
He turned to Yukimura, smile at the ready. "Mind standing over to the side for a minute?"

"Perhaps we should get someone else to open the door for you. I'm sure we can find someone nearby who wouldn't mind doing it," Yukimura suggested. Of course he had no intention of offering to do it himself.

He twisted the doorknob.
The moment the door swung in on its hinge, he darted off to the side in an all-too practiced motion. True to his expectations, a bundle of pink came hurtling out, hissing her displeasure as she viciously attacked the spot where Fuji once occupied.

Staying very carefully out of the way, Yukimura tried not to draw its attention to him. "Can you handle it yourself, or would you like some help?" He wasn't entirely sure what he could do to help, but if necessary he'd think of something. It wouldn't do to let Fuji get injured even more, after all.

All in all, Fuji was expecting the worst, and was therefore more-or-less floored when the Skitty merely padded up to Yukimura, and began rubbing herself against his feet charmingly.
"I should've known. It's just me, isn't it." Not quite a lament, but he was looking slightly regretfully at the pink cat, who had circled around Yukimura's legs and was now mewing to be picked up and pampered. "Your Chikorita liked you when you first got it, right?"

Not bothering to keep the smile from his lips, Yukimura stood. "Or perhaps that's just the way she shows her affection. Maybe she really does like you." He wasn't entirely sure how true that could be, considering the Skitty's more pleasant demeanor around Yukimura, but you never knew.
"Has she been like this since you got her?"
no subject
That being said, he grumbled- "And that would be an understatement." Though it was more lighthearted than not. During the span of time between the Skitty's violent outburst and her suddenly charming demeanor in response to ear-skritches, his uneasiness had made way for amusement. Now, he was giving the other boy a look of consideration. The Skitty mewed, feeling a little thwarted that her attempts at being picked up were more-or-less futile, and made her way back towards the open door.
Fuji laughed. "She's always been like this, I guess. I've always thought it was a sort of a quirk. Or maybe it's just calcium deficiency."
Thoughtful- "But she has the right idea." And here he paused, "If we stand around out here any longer, the neighbors are going to wonder.
After you?"
no subject
"Thank you. What a gentleman you are, Fuji," he said, teasing just a bit. He was pretty sure Fuji could take it, Seigaku's genius certainly lived up to the reputation Yukimura had heard of. He entered Fuji's apparently just a little cautiously, wanting to be sure that there were no more small fuzzy animals ready to attack. Just in case.

Upon entrance, there is a Vibrava hanging from the ceiling light. Otherwise, he's remarkably neat for a boy of fifteen living alone in a hotel room. Humming, he nudged the door closed before reaching for the broomstick that he kept by the closet. One quick poke with the handle, and the Vibrava dislodged herself cheerfully, fluttering down from the light to examine the room's new occupant.
"There's only the one chair -- the place isn't big enough for visitors, usually." Contemplative. "Coffee, tea? Water?"
no subject
"Tea would be fine, thank you." He looked around Fuji's small room, rather approving of the state of it - Fuji was more disciplined than he expected. Then again, perhaps he just didn't see much point in having a lot of thing if he were going to be moving around often. Yukimura could certainly understand that much.
"How long have you been here, Fuji?"

The kitchen was small, but manageable, and everything was within easy enough reach. It had the advantage of being efficient without needing for him to think too hard about where he was putting his hands while he went about his business. The downside of it was that his voice had a tendency to echo eerily in the small space. He flicked on the kettle absently. "I think I'm starting to go native, though. You know you are, when you start saying things like 'the cat hatched the other day' or 'your dog just set my walking radish on fire, jerk' without feeling like something's really wrong with the universe."

Listening to Fuji, Yukimura couldn't help laughing. "I haven't been here nearly that long yet. I still can't quite believe all these creatures exist, and I'm regretting never paying attention when Niou and the others talked about their video games. I'm sure he was rather entertained to find himself here, while I'm just confused."
