WHERE: Both Breeding Centers in Goldenrod City and Celadon City

SUMMARY: Both buildings are decked out for a certain holiday. OOC information provided here.

[ Thanks to the help of so many others, both buildings in Goldenrod City and Celadon City were decorated in the colors of white, yellow, and teal. There's plenty of food available for trainer and Pokémon alike. With areas designated for mingling and for writing down wishes, it's not much of a celebration until the sun sets. When it does, the sky lights up with various fireworks. Once the excitement has died down, there will be a bonfire to burn the written wishes with, burning brightly until dawn. Who knows what else is going on? Perhaps someone will bring additional excitement to the party~ ]

Due to the nature of this log, it's going to be fairly open, so please feel free to make your own sub-threads. Just please comment under the appropriate city since both are celebrating it.

[ Of course Maria made her way over to the breeding center once she heard Tanabata was being celebrated - she likes the holiday, after all! It's not as good as Halloween, but still pretty cool.. after all, on Tanabata witches will fulfill people's wishes, right? The same must count even in Johto!

So the nine year old seems super concentrated as she's busy writing down her wish. If you look over her shoulder, you might be able to read along.. 'A wish for lots of fun every day for everyone here!'

... After a thoughtful moment, she adds 'and lots of ice cream!!' below it.

You can either talk to her during that, or you can catch her later while she's gasping (more like 'uu!'-ing) at the fireworks in amazement. ]

[The tradition of writing down a wish seemed a little silly to Peacock; it sounded a lot like a birthday thing. It certainly wasn't her birthday here, but she figured she'd amuse the idea for the time being. It's something fun, lots of food, and doesn't involve work; why not?

Peacock takes her time to write out a wish, thinking about it before just going with what she wants most.]

I wish to have plenty of things to do around Johto.

[It's a wish she's sure will happen, but it's better than nothing in her view! ...Though she does add one thing underneath; 'and some more cigars'.

You can catch her during that, at the food table (feeding both herself and her team of misfits), or during the fireworks (where she'll be smoking it up while watching them gleefully).]

[ Xion's at one of the areas where you're supposed to write the wishes, but at the moment... She's just staring at a slip of paper in slight confusion. ]

[ Xion does a complete turn to see the person with her good eye and blinks. She smiles a bit nervously. ]

Yes, what you wish for. [ Saber's acting as though she's an expert at it, but really, she has a bad experience with 'wishes'. ] Come on, write down a wish. It can be something small or large.

[ She blinks at Saber's appearance and suggestion before glancing at her paper. ]

[Shirou's got a plate of takoyaki in his hands. He's seated, just looking at the bonfire for now. Did he make a wish? Who knows?]

[ Nearby there's a Saber eying his plate as though she's contemplating yanking something from it. ]

[Luca's just mingling for now, accompanied by a relatively new member of his team - a Chimecho, back from when they were still swarming, and who is usually kept in the PC; she's out now because Luca feels bad for keeping Pokémon in there for too long - as well as Sakura's old Arcanine, Toto. The latter's eyeing the food of whoever comes close to them, while the Chimecho just sort of-- tries to stay out of sight.

Later on, he'll be sitting a little ways away from the bonfire, sleepily laying against Toto's side and trying not to fall asleep.]

[ It's an epic showdown between Saber and Toto. The item of their attention? A plate held tightly in Saber's hands. ]

[He's just standing over here with his Venomoth and trying not to look confused.]

[Well... Lancer was still one she wasn't a hundred percent comfortable with being around, for her own reasons. But with Saber, the awkwardness was beginning to fade, the more time she spent around the woman. Maybe it'll be the same with him...?

So she approaches, a bit nervous.] Are you okay, Lancer-san?

[John isn't exactly sure what some of the foreign dishes are but not wanting to potentially miss out on something tasty, he makes it a point to try a little bit of everything he doesn't recognize.]

[As he wanders the festival, he ends up sharing some of it with the small gaggle of Pokemon surrounding him: a smaller-tan-average Dunsparce on his head, a Litwick on his shoulder, and a Lopunny and shiny Togetic trailing behind him. The Litwick is the only one who doesn't seem too fond of it, judging by the little 'BLECH!' face she's making. Apparently squid just doesn't compare to life energy.]

[Feel free to stop and chat with him at any point, he won't mind.]

[Once the sun sets and dinner finished, he can be found in the wish-writing area, chewing on the end of his pen and mumbling to himself as he tries to think of a good wish.]

Man...this is harder than coming up with a birthday wish...

What is a birthday wish?

[ Hello, I am from way too many centuries ago and we did not have these things known as birthday wishes. ]

Was I to make a wish on my birthday..? Does it count if I make it really late?

[Like her brother, Jade is wandering around and trying out all the food! Every once in a while, she'll give something to her Pokémon so they can try it out.]

[Anyone who wants to chat, feel free to stop her! She loves talking to people.]

[After she's done trying everything out, she'll be sitting down at the wish-writing area, trying to think of what to write. Coming up with a good wish is a lot harder than she thought it would be...]

[It was a long and tiring walk from Saffron City to Celadon City, especially because of the train ride before hand (and his team's insistence to do everything he told them not to do). He was positive that he was never going to make that sort of a trip again - he'd try it again if he ever got back to his level of normal.

When he finally walked past the sign for Celadon City he nearly jumped for joy, but it soon turned to surprised when he noticed the brightly decorated buildings. They looked decked and ready for Tanabata. That was weird. He was sure this Pokemon place was an alternate universe. Unless alternate universes celebrated the same holidays. He weaved through the crowd carefully, more than a little mindful of the crowd.

He approached the food stands with little caution and watched his pokéfriends help themselves to a few offered bites. Rin was sure that he'd meet who he needed to meet in this new city eventually. While he familiarized himself with this new city, he was going to enjoy the festivities. ...And maybe make a wish, too.]
