HOENNWEEN: AFTERMATH LOG
Who: Hoennween Plot Participants!
Where: Tohjo Falls!
When: Friday, October 31
Summary: The bosses are defeated, the strife is over, the apocalypse has been averted. But things are still a bit of a disaster and some benign faces are arriving, so this is your chance to wind down, rest up, commiserate with others over everything that transpired, and breathe a little in general before it's time to go home again.
Rating: PG-13 in general; please mark threads that go higher accordingly!
Log:

YOU ARE HERE. IT LOOKS A LITTLE APOCALYPTIC. BUT THESE GUYS ARE HERE, AND SO IS THIS GUY.
NOW GO LEARN THE MAGIC OF YARN.
KEY:
• The GRAY, GREEN, and BLUE areas remain as they have all plot; these are the mountains, forest, and lake areas (respectively) that are now devoid of Team Aqua and Magma Grunts and currently form the natural boundaries of the map area you're in!
• The BROWN rectangle in the center of the map is still the Elite Four's Resort; because you did so well at fighting off the bosses and their legendaries, it escaped the conflict with minimal damage. For this log, that means it will also still be available to you as a bonus area map!
• The PINK triangle represents Shauna and Sina's private jet (or, well, someone's private jet, anyway), in which they just arrived from Kalos! Also, it sounds like they've got some kind of goodies for you in there, so you might want to stop by and have a chat with them to see what that's all about.
• RED stars on either sides of the map are approximate locations where you are most likely to be able to find and approach Arceus! Note that it can be sighted pretty much anywhere on the map as it walks around restoring things to some semblance of normal, but if you intend to approach it directly, it should be in one of these two areas. Attempting to catch or battle Arceus will result in a character immediately whiting out and being booted to the Blackthorn City Pokemon Center, and thereby suspended from participation in the remainder of the event.
A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:
• The Gen VI Pokemon that assisted you in the battle are still around somewhat, but they're largely leaving the area to head back down into the Johto/Kanto regions proper; they made good on the summons from their creator and have received its profound thanks for it, and now it's time to get back to the areas they've picked as their new habitats from here on out.
• FOR CHARACTERS WHO USED A HONEDGE LIKE A WEAPON DURING BATTLE:
This is also where we are asking you to experience some IC consequences! Namely, in exchange for picking up your Pokemon and rather unceremoniously winging it around by the head during battle, Arceus will be returning the favor by winging you around by the head a little at some point during the log! You're welcome to handwave this as you see fit, but we ask that you please accept this as the consequence of your choices!
• On a related note, if your character has mistreated one of their Pokemon lately and you would like them to suffer a llamagod-delivered consequence for it (for the purposes of development or what have you), feel free to let us know and we'll work something out with you!
• There is no restriction on how many of the NPCs you may talk to; feel free to interact with any and all of them!
• Maxie and Archie are not available on this log; they are, however, going to be taken into Shauna and Sina's custody and presumably deported back to Kalos to receive justice for...something or other, assuredly.
• You are welcome to thread out scenes occuring at any time during the aftermath events — waking up in the morning to Arceus, spotting Shauna and Sina arriving around noon, and experiencing the Sylveon Swarm in the afternoon are all fair game!
• At the end of the day you will be getting home the same way you initially came: via an Arceus-opened portal that will take you back to the location you left, with its thanks!
• EDIT: It's been brought to our attention that this was somewhat unclear — yes, you may make your own top-levels on this log! It is not solely for interacting with the NPCs, so please feel free to tag around and interact with others as you like!

The motion that Arceus makes with its head and neck conveys something of a welcoming sentiment, though it's understandably a far different gesture than the one it has sometimes used with the very small ones when making the same invitation. The small ones are more honest about the emotions that tear at them; as they grow, they learn to better and better hide those emotions away, until at last they are buried so deep that perhaps even they themselves no longer recall how to set them free.
Come closer if you wish, formerly-belligerent one. You have lived a long time, having scorned the hope and wonder of impossible things.
It will do you good, perhaps, to see this one and touch, and recall what you have once shunned.]

Fairy tales are for children, and miracles are for suckers. It's only the weak and stupid who fall for it. A real man doesn't need comfort.
The only religion he knows is the kind where it all comes down to brimstone. Hellfire.
No one ever talked about the kind of monsters that look at you with calm eyes and have flowers growing quietly up under their feet.
Blake wouldn't have believed them.
He moves slowly, compensating for an injury that isn't there anymore.
If he touches the thing, it'll snarl or bite, or rear back and kick him in the skull. Or it'll disappear, and it'll turn out that he was hallucinating from being tired and beat-up and the wishful thinking that everything would be all right. He knows that because he knows how the world works, and that there's no such thing as miracles.
Tentatively, like he's touching a bomb, Blake reaches out and set his hand on the thing's furry neck.]

The fur of the god is about as warm as it is white; as with most wild animals, the power of muscle beneath the curves of its limbs is noticeable and taut, even through the contrasting softness of its coat. And perhaps, merely touching it will cause some of that warmth to seep through, using your arm as a channel to cross over; in any event, Blake may find it a soothing experience, as his tension seeps away in exchange for a sense of relaxation and wellness.
This is friendship's power at work, not-so-little one; the ability to share a burden together, and lighten it through a bond with someone else.
Be at ease for a little while, and walk with the llamagod. It has strength enough to carry its own responsibilities and the weight resting on your shoulders for a little while, itself.]

The thing's fur is so long and soft that his hand sinks in, like a shoe stepping onto expensive carpet.]
You can't be real. [His voice is shaky.] You can't do that.
[His hand strokes through the thick fur. He swallows hard. He feels raw, young, and, for the first time in a very long time, unalone.
He doesn't know if he can take it.]

(And you come along as well, little pink one called "Steve". Your dress is very pretty, and you should have a flower to complement it; your human likely won't want one, so the one that grows up from the once-scorched earth will only rise up to Snubbull-height, this time around.)
Follow along for a while, human, and watch as gradually but steadily, Arceus sets things to rights in the world around you the way it set rights your injuries.
Sometimes there are second chances, you see.]

Blake is alone with the big furry thing, matching its steps, keeping one hand resting on its neck. That ring thing around it is right behind him, but he doesn't worry about getting smacked. He can't worry about much at all. There's just the soft sound of the creature's paws through the fresh grass, with his own treading alongside, and a twittering bird somewhere. It's quiet. The fight's all over.
Nobody to take anything out on. No out to take.
Blake is the kind of guy who can go on forever, as long as he's got something to resent. As long as something's hurting or something's wrong, he can be what he needs to be, because that's what a man does. There's always something expected from him.
All he's getting from this thing is, terribly, undeniably, the sense that he's forgiven.
There's nobody watching.
His arms are wrapped around the thing's neck, and the side of his face is pressed against its fur.]
