A menagerie of the tragedy that I've caused
Who: Solf J Kimblee (
explosivecombat), Frank Archer (
sadisticwarfare), and anyone in the Ecruteak area who wants to engage them – OPEN LOG, don't forget to do the thing and tag yourself in!
Where: Ecruteak City
When: Forward-dated; morning of November 14, 2014
Summary: They've declared war.
Rating: PG-13 or thereabouts. ...Look, if this goes badly, it's basically going to be MICHAEL BAY PRESENTS: THE LOG.
Log:
It's a lovely day out.
While the last attack had been delayed by too much snow to be pleasant, it seems that the weather is with him today; the sun has been out and the temperatures high for the season, and overall, he finds that he can't complain.
The bombs have been set. The residents of Ecruteak have "forgotten." And unlike the hotel room he was holed up in last time, the room he's in is very, very dark.
It's not to say that there's no light; the device in his hand is offering a light ambient glow from the numbers adorning its face. There are a few of them; he allows his fingers to trail over them idly while he waits. Exactly what he's waiting for is a little difficult to say; perhaps it's just a matter of dramatic timing.
Some of those numbers are pressed down after a while, codes of some sort. He pauses for a moment; catches his breath.
Clicks the red switch at the top.
Hopefully no one was particularly close to the museum, as that explosion is going to be a nice one. Not enough to take the building down, mind you, but more than enough to take out a good portion of it. (Sorry about the lawns on those houses nearby, by the way; they're going to be looking a little rough after the fact.)
He closes his eyes once it's done, a light smile crossing his features underneath the hooded mask; it's been a while since he's done this, but the sound is just as beautiful to him as it always is.
Let's begin.
[OOC: Notes on how to play are here! If you have any questions, feel free to throw a comment on that post and I'll get to it ASAP.
Right now, the goal is to pick a location within the city - and literally any of the major landmarks are fair game - put it in your top-level, and we'll lead you from there!]
[OOC PART II: Here's your progress tracker, guys.
Bomb 1 - museum: DETONATED
Bomb 2 - location currently unknown: STILL ACTIVE
Bomb 3 - location currently unknown: STILL ACTIVE
Bomb 4 - pokémon center: NEUTRALIZED
Bomb 5 - location currently unknown: STILL ACTIVE
Bomb 6 - outdoor soundstage: DETONATED
Bomb 7 - bell tower: STILL ACTIVE
Bomb 8 - location currently unknown: STILL ACTIVE
You've got your work cut out for you, Hero Squad. Godspeed. :|b ]

[Her words are cut off, however, by something that isn't exactly anything anybody wanted to hear - the outdoor soundstage mentioned earlier quite simply explodes like hell, the blast loud and reverberating through the streets of the city.
The girl shrieks, ducking down instinctively; what now?]
no subject
He doesn't stay that way long, though, and it's the sound of his Volcarona's frantic chittering that gets his attention.]
Come on, we need to get out of here, now!
no subject
[She manages to straighten up reasonably well, even if she's looking a bit shaky; we're changing directions, Jimmy, come on.]
There's a way out to one of the nearby routes this way. Most people don't know about it.
no subject
But what about the Pokemon Center?
[He asks as he...follows anyway.]
no subject
Do you want to get out of here or not?
no subject
...No, you're right. Let's go.
no subject
How attuned is your moth to its surroundings, Jimmy?]
no subject
no subject
no subject
no subject
Because there is very definitely something reacting to a frequency of some sort between a pair of old buildings on the way toward that exit.]
no subject
You know what-
Inferno catches that wavelength when they start to get near it and is quick to fly over Jimmy and the girl, sweeping up a few feet from the ground with her six wings spread wide, blocking their path with a hard look at them both.]
Wh- hey...what's wrong? We need to leave!
no subject
Not exactly helpful.
What now?]
no subject
And while she will not deny she is pretty, she's a lot prettier in one piece, and so are you two.]
Inferno, come on! What is it?
[...She just looks at Jimmy now, since there's no other way she can convey that going this way isn't smart other than by letting him go and see for himself, which she will simply not do.]
Is this the only way to this route?
[Jimmy asks the girl now, glancing over at her without moving his head.]
no subject
[And that is still a very pretty moth.]
no subject
[Jimmy turns his attention to Inferno, who lowers her head a little, watching him for a moment before looking pointedly at the girl. "Yes, well, I've wasted a lot of your time already," says this look, "so why don't we just go a different way because this one is bad news bears"]
You know, I...I don't really know where we'll go once we leave town, do you? I mean, I don't want you out there all alone...
[And he was intending on going back to help, because there certainly are a lot more bombs than just the one from the museum.]
...but maybe we could try a different way? Inferno doesn't seem to think this way is any good.
no subject
[No, not if you say so, if the moth says so.]
no subject
And something about the pause that follows seems to get it to finally click, and before Jimmy can say anything else Inferno moves out of the way so they can keep going, keeping close but...not too close because usually fire and bombs don't mix.]
So if this way isn't any good...
Come on!
[And now it's his turn to tug on the girl's hand, heading toward the way they were originally going.]
