A menagerie of the tragedy that I've caused

Who: Solf J Kimblee ([personal profile] explosivecombat), Frank Archer ([personal profile] sadisticwarfare), and anyone in the Ecruteak area who wants to engage them – OPEN LOG, don't forget to do the thing and tag yourself in!
Where: Ecruteak City
When: Forward-dated; morning of November 14, 2014
Summary: They've declared war.
Rating: PG-13 or thereabouts. ...Look, if this goes badly, it's basically going to be MICHAEL BAY PRESENTS: THE LOG.
Log:

It's a lovely day out.

While the last attack had been delayed by too much snow to be pleasant, it seems that the weather is with him today; the sun has been out and the temperatures high for the season, and overall, he finds that he can't complain.

The bombs have been set. The residents of Ecruteak have "forgotten." And unlike the hotel room he was holed up in last time, the room he's in is very, very dark.

It's not to say that there's no light; the device in his hand is offering a light ambient glow from the numbers adorning its face. There are a few of them; he allows his fingers to trail over them idly while he waits. Exactly what he's waiting for is a little difficult to say; perhaps it's just a matter of dramatic timing.

Some of those numbers are pressed down after a while, codes of some sort. He pauses for a moment; catches his breath.

Clicks the red switch at the top.

Hopefully no one was particularly close to the museum, as that explosion is going to be a nice one. Not enough to take the building down, mind you, but more than enough to take out a good portion of it. (Sorry about the lawns on those houses nearby, by the way; they're going to be looking a little rough after the fact.)

He closes his eyes once it's done, a light smile crossing his features underneath the hooded mask; it's been a while since he's done this, but the sound is just as beautiful to him as it always is.

Let's begin.

[OOC: Notes on how to play are here! If you have any questions, feel free to throw a comment on that post and I'll get to it ASAP.

Right now, the goal is to pick a location within the city - and literally any of the major landmarks are fair game - put it in your top-level, and we'll lead you from there!]

[Congratulations, you've been transported to floor #9! You're starting in the northeast near all those statues.

There isn't any ice here, no fire, and no missing sections of the floor. That's good! What's not-so-good is the bomb sitting up against the central pillar near the ladder leading upwards. It's not ticking, but there is a red light that blinks occasionally on top of the bomb.]
enjoymyatelier: what is that thing doing here... (>warily regard bullet)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2014-11-12 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
[...ah... there it is. the bomb.

...honestly, he'd been wondering if there even was one, but.... well, now that it's blinking and whatnot, he'll head over to the glowy panel to the west on that same platform, as that'll conserve Artemisia's energy. Where does that take him?]

[That'll set you down on the opposite side of the room, in the east. There's a bunch of those skinny platforms you can walk on, or you could just fly on over to the middle platform.]
enjoymyatelier: actually, it totally will. (aha! a plan that will not end in failure)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2014-11-12 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
[He will just go ahead and fly on over, then! Now, that means he can get a bit of a closer look at the bomb... and he'll recall Artemisia and send Grey back out. He expects to be able to carry it with teleknesis, but first he needs to know if there's anything that seems like it'll trigger if he even does that... so he'll examine it a bit.]

[The bomb is about the size of a person's head and it's nestled right next to the central pillar. The outside is a smooth black metal and aside from the light on top, there's really nothing to note about it. Your Pokémon might be able to catch onto a chemical smell. It's not bound to the pillar or the ground, it's just sitting there.]
enjoymyatelier: cue the red exclamation point over kiritsugu's head (jiiiiiiii...)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2014-11-12 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
[...right, then. First thing is to get that thing out of the building, and the easiest way to do that is to have Grey pick it up via telekinesis and carry it up behind Kayneth as he climbs another ladder. He may have a good idea of what to do about it from the roof when he gets there, but for now...

he's still in a dream...

[Well, you've made it to the tenth floor! The first thing you'll probably notice is that there's no way across to the platform with the ladder; the wooden beams there are gone!]
enjoymyatelier: just imagine the crossed arms and this is von karma as balls (are you cross examining a parrot)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2014-11-13 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
[...at this point Artemisia just looks kind of cross when Kayneth lets her out of the Pokeball, because how many times are you going to do this. be more creative, sir

...with that said, given the urgency of things, she flies Kayneth across the one last gap as Grey floats over, uncertainly holding the bomb a foot or so in front of him like a particularly fragile, particularly unpleasant rotten egg

fortunately, as soon as they get outside, Kayneth has a plan of what to do with the bomb until he can figure out a way to detonate it, if that's necessary... but for now, the last ladder. He climbs up first, while Grey and the bomb float behind him.

He can't really stop to think about things, but after... all of that, he's aware that something extra might be waiting for him at the top. Well, if he didn't have full confidence in his abilities, he wouldn't have gotten anywhere, would he?]

[Getting outside is going to be a bit trickier than just climbing a ladder, unfortunately! It seems Seth just had to be a dick again; the top of the ladder is blocked off by those beams that were missing on the tenth floor. They're very heavy beams, so moving them is going to be impossible, and one is stacked on top of the other just to make your life even more difficult. There's a small space where you might be able to fit your hand, assuming you aren't making a fist.]
enjoymyatelier: everything is terrible and nothing works (KHAAAAAAAAN!!!)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2014-11-14 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[...are you shitting him, this is the final stretch and

okay, don't have a frustrated meltdown. let's see what happens when he puts his hand in that small space.]
