Because I screwed it up before. Oops :|

Who: Edward Elric and anyone who wants to troll meet him.
Where: New Bark Town
When: Late morning
Summary: POOF! Ed arrives in Johto and is really just trying to find out what the hell's going on. (Ed's starter is a Pichu.)
Rating: pg-13 for Ed's potty mouth.
Log:

Ed turned off the communication devise. If circumstances had been different, he'd be really interested in the thing that was a mix between a phone and what seemed like a bunch of other things. But now, he had other things that were a bit more important to pay attention to.

Ed stood up and walked over to the Pichu, giving it a look that made it obvious that Ed wanted nothing to do with it. The Pichu glared back, charging it's cheeks up again, but only letting a few sparks run across it's body, as if daring the human in front of it to try to touch it. "Looks like I'm really stuck with you, huh?" The Pokemon continued to just stare. Ed sighed. No one would ever learn of this. The only one who knew about this that he knew was Envy, and he didn't care about him in the first place. No one back home would know that he caved in...to a mouse.

Ed crouched down and held out his hand. "Hey, sorry about-"

ZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP

"GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! YOU LITTLE SHIT! I WAS APOLOGIZING!"

"Pichu!"

"Hey, I don't like this any more than you do, so how about we just go downstairs and get food without killing each other?"

Ed stood up and walked out of the bedroom, the Pichu following, but seemingly against its will. He trampled down the stairs to find a woman at the kitchen sink washing dishes. She turned and looked at Ed, a smile beaming on her face. "It's about time you woke up. You're breakfast is cold."

No way. Envy couldn't be serious. His mom was dead. He had been at the funeral. He had lost his left leg trying to resurrect her with alchemy!

The woman put the last dish on the drying rack. "Ed, I have to go out and tend to the garden. Professor Elm wanted to talk to you, so hurry up and eat before you go see him, ok?"

"Wait, who are-" Before Ed could finish the sentence, she had walked out the back door. He looked down at the yellow rodent. It glared back up at him. Grumbling, Ed left the meal on the table and walked out the front door. Maybe this Professor would know what the hell was going on...

Well that was an interesting display just now, SO interesting, in fact, that Katara was up for seconds. She took a break from training her Pokemon so that she could call up the blond that was clearly having SO MUCH fun in Johto already. She spoke up then.

"Looks like you're having fun over there."

"Oh lighten up. I'm calling to help."

Even so she couldn't help giggling a bit, but tried to calm down for his sake.

"You posted a video earlier. Finally stopped fighting with your Pokemon? I'll tell you right now, nobodies powers work here in Johto. I think they're being suppressed somehow."

Or so was the theory anyway.

[Video] That'd be pretty rockin'! .... Pun NOT intended Ipromise HA HA.

"Well, I can't say I know what an alchemist is, but I had powers before I came here. So did a lot of others. The only guess I've heard so far that makes any sense is that you still have your abilities but they're somehow being repressed, is all."

Oh God, Ed, your Pichu. IT IS SO CUTE! The look on Katara's face was curious and excited.

"Pichu, hm? From what I understand baby electric type Pokemon can't really control their energy that well. Try not to startle or upset it and that should fix the whole 'trying to kill you' thing. It's only a baby, after all."

Kishi was only a baby too, but she was a BIG one. Katara turns her gear towards Carla, the level three Cubone.

"See her? When I first got her the only way she knew how to communicate was hitting me in the head with that bone. She's only level three so she's pretty young too." And with that Katara turned the gear back on herself. "You should have some Pokemon food in your bag. They can eat the berries too. You should've gotten a manual and a trainer card, so I guess the first question is are you listed as a Trainer or a Breeder?"

"Sure."

Katara listened, snickering softly to herself as she overheared. Oh Ed. He'd get the hang of it eventually.

She gave Kishi a rub on the nose and checked on Noctowl and Jet after a moment. Her team was working hard, patchwork as they were, she wanted to make sure no one overworked themselves. After a moment she climbed up to sit on Kishi's back, letting the Lapras have a closer look at the gear just as Pichu came into view. There was only time for Katara to smile back before Ed had a hold of the Gear again. Ah, right, PP, the bane of any desperate trainer's existence.

"Oh yeah, those. Think of it like stamina. Your Pokemon can learn moves as it gets stronger, but they're strength isn't limitless. If you have it use the same attack too many times it won't be able to use it again until it's rested at a center."

Katara knew nothing about what happened after all the power points were used, though.

Katara tried to stifle a grin before giving up, just letting it fly. When Pichu came back into view she chuckles at it's antics. Pity she couldn't understand a word of it.

"It's nice to meet you too, Pichu is your name?"

One of Kishi's big eyes came into view then, filling the screen for a moment. Katara laughed and gently pushed her back again.

"That's my starter Pokemon, her name is Kishi. Say, try to take it easy on your trainer,"

And there she lowered her voice to a conspiratorial whisper.

"He seems like the really cranky type. I know someone like that. You'll have to be the more mature one. Okay?" She winked, wondering if Pichu got all that.

Apples, what? Like the game?

"Hey, I didn't get your name. If you make it to Cherrygrove in the next few days we can meet up and my brother and I can maybe help you out."

In his own way! I have a soft spot for hot heads, what can I say?

[personal profile] usedwaterpulse 2011-04-13 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Hi Ed, I'm Katara. You're probably looking at a three day walk if you take it easy."

It was awfully easy to be patient and all when she wasn't the one receiving all the electric shocks, but as she'd already told Ed she was used to being abused by baby Pokemon thanks to Carla.

Oh dear.

"Yeah... So it's pretty much just like I heard." Tohru hadn't been joking about Kyo's Shinx, electric types were unintentionally vicious! "Ah, are you... okay over there?"

I see, I see. <3

That would work for Katara just fine, since she didn't know how long Sokka would want to stay in Cherrygrove, but could probably convince him to give it a couple of days.

"Alright, I'm sure he will! Then give me a call if you run into any problems or something. You should be able to contact me now that we've spoken directly. Try not to be too hard on your Pokemon, okay? You guys are a team now!" She encouraged, ever the one for hopeful speeches.

This? All this was absolutely ridiculous and impossible and Alfons didn't understand it at all. Yet, here he was. Breathing air untainted by rocket fuel fumes for the first time in days, crisp and cool and completely unlike the air in Munich that he was used to. There were trees everywhere, odd creatures too, including the vaguely foxlike one that hounded his every step.

For all Edward had gone on about different worlds, Alfons had never expected to see one with his own eyes, after waking up in an unfamiliar house at that.

A house that he saw a familiar face walking out of a few hours later, as he sat underneath a tree a short distance away.

"...Edward!"

Blue, but close enough. 8D

[identity profile] dreamsintodust.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Alfons, for his part, stared right back. What was he talking about?

"...I would hope so, we've been living together for months."

The German boy stood up, brushing bits of grass off his pants. What was Edward's problem? He'd been walking around with his head in the clouds for a long time now, but this was the first time he'd ever reacted like this.

"...if this is because you're angry at me..."

Yeah, the images I took them from are kinda odd colored. |D

[identity profile] dreamsintodust.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
[It comes up in the plot though. Blonde hair, blue eyes, German, living during the time a certain political party was starting to get their ball rolling...]

"This isn't all that funny." Alfons frowned, feeling slightly panicked and definitely like he'd been smacked.

He'd asked Edward not to forget him. So he could live on, in some small way.

"Yes. It's Alfons."

[identity profile] dreamsintodust.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
"What...? Edward, you've only told me about your brother. I've never met him." Alfons knew that Edward's brother was also called Al, but he'd never known what it was short for. He'd never known what the boy looked like, or his age, or anything except that Edward was separated from him and would do anything to see him again.

And sometimes, very rarely, Edward would look at him as if he were seeing someone else.

"Look, I know you didn't want me to send you back, but there wasn't anything...Edward, you're scaring me."

What was going on here? What was wrong with him? Had something happened, when he went through that portal? Back to his world? Or to here, or wherever they'd ended up?

[identity profile] dreamsintodust.livejournal.com 2011-04-13 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Alfons knew by now that his expression wasn't anything pleasant. He was hurt, he was afraid, and now he was here--seemingly alone, for all that Edward was here. Because Edward either couldn't remember who he was, or hadn't ever met him.

...he wasn't just a dream, was he? Alfons spoke hesitantly, to answer all these questions that Ed should know already--to his knowledge, anyway.

"...we met in Munich. We studied rocketry together under Professor Oberth there. And after your father disappeared, you moved in with me."

Alfons's Vulpix tilted its head in greeting, giving a short little yip. Yay for new friends!

[identity profile] dreamsintodust.livejournal.com 2011-04-15 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
"It's in Bavaria. Germany." Alfons added the latter after a moment of thought--he remembered full well the difficulty Edward had experienced with geography when they first met. And there was a niggling doubt at the back of the scientist's mind that any of that would make any kind of sense to him.

The idea of that hurt, almost physically. What on Earth was going on here?

[identity profile] dreamsintodust.livejournal.com 2011-04-15 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Alfons opened his mouth to almost say 'You came from Britain,' but stopped himself just in time--Edward's stories had all been true, after all, he'd accepted that at the end. He was from another world altogether--separate, but connected. A world where alchemy hadn't faded into obscurity, where people could do fantastic things with it, comparable to the sciences that Alfons was familiar with. A legitimate and powerful science, not just foolish people searching to turn lead into gold.

"...you came through some kind of portal. They were calling it the Gate." There'd been a dragon, and Hohenheim, talk of 'magic circles', and Alfons's rockets were needed to get through the pressure the thing generated--all of these disjointed facts added up to no recognizable whole in Alfons's mind. He'd just stopped thinking about it at the time.

The flat stare Alfons gave the steel arm could probably answer Edward's question. The prosthetic arm and leg that Alfons was familiar with, the one his father had invented, were ridiculously advanced enough. That arm was entirely different--made of solid metal, it seemed, and not the strange rubbery not-quite-skin-colored material over complicated and easily broken mechanics that Alfons had seen Edward wearing day in and day out.

He'd always assumed that Edward had lost his limbs in a bombing. It was a common enough story, with Europe still reeling from the Great War. It seemed that had not been the case.

"...you had prosthetics, that your father made. But nothing like that."

[identity profile] dreamsintodust.livejournal.com 2011-04-15 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
"It didn't make any sense to me either." Alfons said quietly, sitting back down and idly scratching the head of his strange fox-creature.

"You would tell stories all the time--about your world. I never believed them. I thought you were living in some kind of fantasy...that you thought none of us were real. That our world wasn't real."

"I know now that I didn't understand. But the stories you would tell were so fantastic...that I didn't think there was any way they could be true. A world where alchemy was real? I couldn't believe a word of it."

He shook his head, glancing off to one side. "When we met, you were 17. You'd only been in my world for a year, or so you said."

[identity profile] dreamsintodust.livejournal.com 2011-04-15 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Only 15? That meant he was three years younger...that explained, at least, why Edward didn't know anything that he was talking about.

His question, though, made Alfons laugh. Only a little, not a gull unrestrained laugh--which was good, he'd start coughing again otherwise.

"Yes, you are."

[identity profile] dreamsintodust.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Alfons nodded. He didn't know what was going on here--and it kind of disturbed him--but he was willing to take any familiarity he could get. "If that's alright."

...he probably wouldn't have asked if it wasn't, but Alfons was hard-wired to be polite.

[identity profile] dreamsintodust.livejournal.com 2011-04-16 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Breathe fire? Why, how funny you should say that. Alfons's Vulpix glances up and yips, a small tongue of flame issuing from its furry muzzle.

"...at least we can agree that this is crazy."

((continued from here))

Envy half wished that he could claim that he'd come up with the fake mother as a joke. As far as he was concerned, Ed deserved it. And he was in a worse mood than usual after being holed up in some stupid little shop for days hiding from bugs, then having another member of his group get poisoned and having to deal with that too. And Ed was, unfortunately, absolutely the perfect target to take out all that frustration on.

"Well, Fullmetal, she's everyone who comes here's mother. Why are you so upset, you didn't even have to make her yourself this time."
exeggutorhead: (amused)

[audio] I almost feel like I should apologize for Envy being such an ass XD

[personal profile] exeggutorhead 2011-04-13 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Although Ed wouldn't be able to see it, Envy's mouth curled into a satisfied smirk at the reaction. "Hmm, maybe I would if it weren't so easy to piss you off."

He made his voice sound mockingly upset, "I guess I just felt like talking to someone from home, it's been a while since Greed vanished, and now the military man that was here is gone too."

[personal profile] exeggutorhead 2011-04-13 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Some guy named Maes Hughes. Know him?"

Envy's tone was semi-infuriatingly pleasant now, with an edge to it. He'd figured out that in his future he's the one who kills the guy, but more importantly he'd figured out that Ed you little bastard you told people about what happened in Lab 5, who else did you tell?

"Although I guess you must, considering he knew about us homunculi." Envy's glare wasn't visible over the audio, but oh it's there.

exeggutorhead: (mildly frustrated)

[personal profile] exeggutorhead 2011-04-14 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah I know he is, he told me. You can believe me or not, I don't really care. But people show up here that were dead in their worlds all the time."

Well maybe not all the time, but enough that it wasn't an isolated case. But if Ed knew about Hughes being dead, then that meant he was from Envy's future too. Figured. And as for what he wanted...really, he had just been looking to piss Ed off. And if Ed was from the future, then--

"Thing is, he isn't dead in the time I'm from. I'd have known about it." Because Envy'd supposedly killed him. Not that he was going to let Ed know this, and he'd lie if asked. "So what I want to know is, what was happening when you got pulled here? Besides Gluttony eating me, which is ridiculous."
exeggutorhead: (bitchface)

[audio]

[personal profile] exeggutorhead 2011-04-14 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
It took Envy a minute after Ed finished talking to say anything, because what Ed was saying made almost less sense than he knew what he'd been saying probably made to Ed. There was no way Gluttony would eat him, and where was Lust? She must have been there if Gluttony was there. And not wanting Ed to get killed, yeah they weren't really supposed to, but if he got to be too much trouble Envy certainly wouldn't have held back; they could always find another alchemist to create the Stone. And then there was the biggest issue with Ed's story.

"If Gluttony ate you, you're dead. And he couldn't have eaten me because I'd be able to stop him before he finished his first bite. It's not like he can eat anyone accidentally. Don't try to feed me such stupid lies."

Even saying that, he knew that Ed didn't sound like he was lying. This was quickly turning into a headache. Johto barely made sense, but home should at least.
