Because I screwed it up before. Oops :|
Who: Edward Elric and anyone who wants to troll meet him.
Where: New Bark Town
When: Late morning
Summary: POOF! Ed arrives in Johto and is really just trying to find out what the hell's going on. (Ed's starter is a Pichu.)
Rating: pg-13 for Ed's potty mouth.
Log:
Ed turned off the communication devise. If circumstances had been different, he'd be really interested in the thing that was a mix between a phone and what seemed like a bunch of other things. But now, he had other things that were a bit more important to pay attention to.
Ed stood up and walked over to the Pichu, giving it a look that made it obvious that Ed wanted nothing to do with it. The Pichu glared back, charging it's cheeks up again, but only letting a few sparks run across it's body, as if daring the human in front of it to try to touch it. "Looks like I'm really stuck with you, huh?" The Pokemon continued to just stare. Ed sighed. No one would ever learn of this. The only one who knew about this that he knew was Envy, and he didn't care about him in the first place. No one back home would know that he caved in...to a mouse.
Ed crouched down and held out his hand. "Hey, sorry about-"
ZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
"GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! YOU LITTLE SHIT! I WAS APOLOGIZING!"
"Pichu!"
"Hey, I don't like this any more than you do, so how about we just go downstairs and get food without killing each other?"
Ed stood up and walked out of the bedroom, the Pichu following, but seemingly against its will. He trampled down the stairs to find a woman at the kitchen sink washing dishes. She turned and looked at Ed, a smile beaming on her face. "It's about time you woke up. You're breakfast is cold."
No way. Envy couldn't be serious. His mom was dead. He had been at the funeral. He had lost his left leg trying to resurrect her with alchemy!
The woman put the last dish on the drying rack. "Ed, I have to go out and tend to the garden. Professor Elm wanted to talk to you, so hurry up and eat before you go see him, ok?"
"Wait, who are-" Before Ed could finish the sentence, she had walked out the back door. He looked down at the yellow rodent. It glared back up at him. Grumbling, Ed left the meal on the table and walked out the front door. Maybe this Professor would know what the hell was going on...

"Looks like you're having fun over there."
[Video] KATARA!!! /flytackleglomp
"If you're calling just to annoy me, shut up. You're wasting my time!"
It was bad enough Ed was stuck here in the first place. He had no idea where Al was, or even if Al was here at all. He really wished to be back in Amestris. Sure, things were pretty shitty there, but at least it made sense!
[Video] *SQUEAKS!* *LOVES ON ED TOO* :DDDD
Even so she couldn't help giggling a bit, but tried to calm down for his sake.
"You posted a video earlier. Finally stopped fighting with your Pokemon? I'll tell you right now, nobodies powers work here in Johto. I think they're being suppressed somehow."
Or so was the theory anyway.
[Video] I might have a Toph to throw your way later....
"Pichu!!"
"Are you an alchemist too? I've been told it won't work here. Do you have idea why?"
A sigh can be heard escaping from Ed. The Pichu is tugging on his pants leg. He looks down from the devise. "What, are you hungry?" He looks back into the camera. "Do you what these things eat?" Ed takes the phone and points the camera down at the Pichu. It's still looking up at Ed with an annoyed look on its face.
[Video] That'd be pretty rockin'! .... Pun NOT intended Ipromise HA HA.
Oh God, Ed, your Pichu. IT IS SO CUTE! The look on Katara's face was curious and excited.
"Pichu, hm? From what I understand baby electric type Pokemon can't really control their energy that well. Try not to startle or upset it and that should fix the whole 'trying to kill you' thing. It's only a baby, after all."
Kishi was only a baby too, but she was a BIG one. Katara turns her gear towards Carla, the level three Cubone.
"See her? When I first got her the only way she knew how to communicate was hitting me in the head with that bone. She's only level three so she's pretty young too." And with that Katara turned the gear back on herself. "You should have some Pokemon food in your bag. They can eat the berries too. You should've gotten a manual and a trainer card, so I guess the first question is are you listed as a Trainer or a Breeder?"
[Video] Pffffffft.
Ed left the bag up in the bedroom. He remembers seeing one though, and runs back to get it, but stops after a few steps, remembering he now has a
ratpetdemonPokemon with him that has much much shorter legs than himself. The phone is still on."I can carry you, you know."
"Pichuuuuuuuuuu!"
Electricity sparks from it's cheeks. It's still not very happy with the way Ed treated it before.
"Fine, FINE!! Don't kill me!"
Ed can be heard thumping up the steps, and the pitter-patter of Pichu's tiny feet can be heard too. Ed finds the bag lying next to the bed and digs around. He finds the pamphlet the girl mentioned and lays the phone down on the floor so he can flip through it.
"It says 'Trainer,' whatever that means." Flipping pages can be heard as Ed skims through the document. Meanwhile, Pichu inches towards teh phone and finds a friendly face. Much better than that of the asshole it's paired with. It waves.
"PICHU!!"
"Hey, don't touch that." Ed grabs the phone again and Pichu pouts. "This thing if full of stuff that doesn't make sense. 'The battle moves of Pokémon are limited by their POWER POINTS, PP. To replenish PP, rest your tired Pokémon at a Pokémon Center.' What's this thing talking about?"
Katara listened, snickering softly to herself as she overheared. Oh Ed. He'd get the hang of it eventually.
She gave Kishi a rub on the nose and checked on Noctowl and Jet after a moment. Her team was working hard, patchwork as they were, she wanted to make sure no one overworked themselves. After a moment she climbed up to sit on Kishi's back, letting the Lapras have a closer look at the gear just as Pichu came into view. There was only time for Katara to smile back before Ed had a hold of the Gear again. Ah, right, PP, the bane of any desperate trainer's existence.
"Oh yeah, those. Think of it like stamina. Your Pokemon can learn moves as it gets stronger, but they're strength isn't limitless. If you have it use the same attack too many times it won't be able to use it again until it's rested at a center."
Katara knew nothing about what happened after all the power points were used, though.
Ed looks away from the camera again to talk to Pichu. "You promise you won't touch it?" After a short pause, Ed sets the phone back on the ground, apparently satisfied with Pichu's response. It comes back over and waves again. This person seems so much nicer!!
"Pichu!! Pipipi!! Pichu pipi!" Ed can be heard mumbling in the backgound with the sound of flipping pages. Katara might have heard something about apples and more stuff about how nothing makes any sense here.
[Video] GAH. YOU TWO. WHY ARE YOU SO CUTE?
"It's nice to meet you too, Pichu is your name?"
One of Kishi's big eyes came into view then, filling the screen for a moment. Katara laughed and gently pushed her back again.
"That's my starter Pokemon, her name is Kishi. Say, try to take it easy on your trainer,"
And there she lowered her voice to a conspiratorial whisper.
"He seems like the really cranky type. I know someone like that. You'll have to be the more mature one. Okay?" She winked, wondering if Pichu got all that.
Apples, what? Like the game?
"Hey, I didn't get your name. If you make it to Cherrygrove in the next few days we can meet up and my brother and I can maybe help you out."
Pichu I understand. But Ed? Cute? ^_^;;;;
"HEY! I'm trying to find out what you like to eat since all you can say is your name!" Ed promptly picked up Pichu and set it back on the floor, where is scooted back over to the phone.
The Pichu nodded at the girl. Of the two of them, the Pichu probably was the more mature one anyway.
Ed eventually sighed and threw the pamphlet back in the bag before picking up the phone. "I'm Ed." He unfolded the map he had also found inside the bag. Cherrygrove was just the next town over. It shouldn't take too long to get there...
"I didn't see any train station, so it looks like I'll have to huff it. Cherrygrove doesn't look too far away though." Pichu the grabbed his coat and pulled on it. Once Ed looked down, it rubbed it's tummy. "Ok, we'll get food first. I'll get you an apple."
"PICHUUUUUUU!!!"
"Glad you're excited for-"
ZAAAAAAAAAP
"GAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
Ed dropped his phone. Somehow, it wasn't damaged from the sudden shock, and it was still on. "What's that you say about it not being able to control itself?"
In his own way! I have a soft spot for hot heads, what can I say?
It was awfully easy to be patient and all when she wasn't the one receiving all the electric shocks, but as she'd already told Ed she was used to being abused by baby Pokemon thanks to Carla.
Oh dear.
"Yeah... So it's pretty much just like I heard." Tohru hadn't been joking about Kyo's Shinx, electric types were unintentionally vicious! "Ah, are you... okay over there?"
He does have his moments. I'm actually an Alphonse fangirl myself~
Ed left the phone where he dropped and just turned his head to his Pichu, which could be seen by the door with a guilty-looking grin on its face. Ed pointed at it.
"If you do that again, no more apples. Ever."
"Pichu."
Ed slowly picked up the phone, his wisp of hair smoldering a little. "I'll live." Ed used his teeth to take off the glove on his left hand and he licked his thumb and finger before pinching the smoldering wisp of hair. Well, at least it hadn't been the Colonel...
"Three days, huh?" He looked back over at the Pichu and waved towards it to come back over, which it did hesitantly. "Well, if this guy will let me carry him without killing me, I might be able to make it two."
He sighed and scratched the little Pokemon behind the ears, but not before hesitating. Ed could feel his fingers and hands tingle with the electric charge that it carried, but it wasn't painful.
I see, I see. <3
"Alright, I'm sure he will! Then give me a call if you run into any problems or something. You should be able to contact me now that we've spoken directly. Try not to be too hard on your Pokemon, okay? You guys are a team now!" She encouraged, ever the one for hopeful speeches.
<3 Feel free to add another reply if you want to put some concluding thoughts down for Katara.
"Yeah, I guess we are. I'll see you in Cherrygrove, then. For now though, I guess I should get this guy some food." The Pichu jumped out of Ed's lap and tugged on his pants. "Yeah, yeah. I'm comin'. I'll see you soon."
Ed ended the transmission and stood back up (having been knocked down from being shocked), the Pichu scurrying up his leg and up his back to chill on his shoulder. "You're lucky you're so small." Ed went off in search of the nearest market to get an apple for Pichu.

For all Edward had gone on about different worlds, Alfons had never expected to see one with his own eyes, after waking up in an unfamiliar house at that.
A house that he saw a familiar face walking out of a few hours later, as he sat underneath a tree a short distance away.
"...Edward!"
no subject
As Ed got closer, he noticed that while the clothing was unfamiliar, that face certainly was. Ed stopped dead in his tracks. "AL?" He almost dropped his bag, but noticed that the eyes of the young man sitting against the tree were green. Al's eyes were golden like his own.
He looked down at the ground and rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. "Sorry. You, uh...you look like someone I know."
His Pichu looked up at him and cocked its head, wondering if its master was ok. It continued to munch on the apple.
Blue, but close enough. 8D
"...I would hope so, we've been living together for months."
The German boy stood up, brushing bits of grass off his pants. What was Edward's problem? He'd been walking around with his head in the clouds for a long time now, but this was the first time he'd ever reacted like this.
"...if this is because you're angry at me..."
Damnit. To me, they look green in the icons. But now I know~~
"What are you talking about? You just look like someone I know! How can I be angry at someone I haven't met?"
Ed paused, having just realized something...
"Wait. You're name is Al?"
Yeah, the images I took them from are kinda odd colored. |D
"This isn't all that funny." Alfons frowned, feeling slightly panicked and definitely like he'd been smacked.
He'd asked Edward not to forget him. So he could live on, in some small way.
"Yes. It's Alfons."
I still think they're pretty... (Spelling intentional to show how confused Ed is right now.)
"Does it look like-"
Alphonse?! Ed thought that the Al was short for something else, like Alfred or something. If it weren't for the eyes, this guy would look dead on his younger brother, though aged a few more years, and he had the same name?
And Ed thought that whole Pokemon thing was freaky.
He frowned and clenched his fists. "Drop it. How do you know my brother?" Was this another homunculus? Ed couldn't see a tattoo, but then, it could be hidden underneath his clothes. The chances of this actually happening and having it not be some sort of set-up or sick joke was almost non-existent. Maybe the Pichu zapped him to the point where it had fried his brain enough for him to see hallucinations.
no subject
And sometimes, very rarely, Edward would look at him as if he were seeing someone else.
"Look, I know you didn't want me to send you back, but there wasn't anything...Edward, you're scaring me."
What was going on here? What was wrong with him? Had something happened, when he went through that portal? Back to his world? Or to here, or wherever they'd ended up?
no subject
"Alright, how about we just...start over. How do you know me?" That seemed like a simple enough question. sure, it may not be easy for Alfons to answer clearly, but it was a good place to start. Detail could be hammered out as they went.
Meanwhile, Ed's Pichu seemed to be ignoring the situation between the two humans and had walked up to the new potential Pokemon-friend. It waved and gave it a big smile!
no subject
...he wasn't just a dream, was he? Alfons spoke hesitantly, to answer all these questions that Ed should know already--to his knowledge, anyway.
"...we met in Munich. We studied rocketry together under Professor Oberth there. And after your father disappeared, you moved in with me."
Alfons's Vulpix tilted its head in greeting, giving a short little yip. Yay for new friends!
no subject
Ed twitched a little bit. Ok, time to straighten out the details. "Where's Munich? I've never heard of it before." It was possible for a place called Muich to exist. The only time Ed had left Amestris was to travel into Xing for that information exchange, and even then he wouldn't count it as actually being in Xing. There was also Drachma, located north of Briggs that Ed had to admit he didn't know much about.
no subject
The idea of that hurt, almost physically. What on Earth was going on here?
no subject
Hadn't someone mentioned different worlds to him before? If that was the case, maybe that could somehow explain how this Al looked just like his brother and also had the same name. (Parallel universe maybe?)
"Do you know how I got to Germany? I've never heard of that before either." If Al had a counterpart in some parallel universe, then surely Ed would too...
And then he got an idea.
"Hold on!" Ed ripped off his glove on his right hand and tore off his coats, revealing his automail. "Did I have this when you met me?"
no subject
"...you came through some kind of portal. They were calling it the Gate." There'd been a dragon, and Hohenheim, talk of 'magic circles', and Alfons's rockets were needed to get through the pressure the thing generated--all of these disjointed facts added up to no recognizable whole in Alfons's mind. He'd just stopped thinking about it at the time.
The flat stare Alfons gave the steel arm could probably answer Edward's question. The prosthetic arm and leg that Alfons was familiar with, the one his father had invented, were ridiculously advanced enough. That arm was entirely different--made of solid metal, it seemed, and not the strange rubbery not-quite-skin-colored material over complicated and easily broken mechanics that Alfons had seen Edward wearing day in and day out.
He'd always assumed that Edward had lost his limbs in a bombing. It was a common enough story, with Europe still reeling from the Great War. It seemed that had not been the case.
"...you had prosthetics, that your father made. But nothing like that."
no subject
First of all, Ed didn't remember seeing anything resembling parallel worlds when he went through the Gate. He had also been eleven years old when he went through the Gate and lost his limbs as payment for the transmutations he was stupid enough to try. (At least Al's was a success. Sort of.)
Second, Ed had only seen his father once since running into him in the cemetery. He knew his father had skill in alchemy, so it was possible he could have transmuted something. Maybe. Still, the timeline didn't make any sense.
"I was only eleven when I went through the Gate, and when I did, that guy had been gone for a few years. I only saw him once since he left, and trust me, he didn't make anything for me or Al." Ed took a seat on the ground, folding his arms and closing his eyes as if he could sort out what the hell was going on by doing so.
It only took a moment or so before ed flopped on his back and glared up at the sky. "This doesn't make any sense!"
no subject
"You would tell stories all the time--about your world. I never believed them. I thought you were living in some kind of fantasy...that you thought none of us were real. That our world wasn't real."
"I know now that I didn't understand. But the stories you would tell were so fantastic...that I didn't think there was any way they could be true. A world where alchemy was real? I couldn't believe a word of it."
He shook his head, glancing off to one side. "When we met, you were 17. You'd only been in my world for a year, or so you said."
no subject
He really wasn't stupid enough to open the Gate again in the future, was he? He frowned. "I'm only 15 right now." If this guy was from his future like Ed was from Envy's future, then the situation made more sense.
Ed's frown suddenly became anxious. "Am I uhm...Am I taller when I'm 17?"
Pichu crawled on Ed's chest and he rubbed its head.
no subject
His question, though, made Alfons laugh. Only a little, not a gull unrestrained laugh--which was good, he'd start coughing again otherwise.
"Yes, you are."
no subject
"Pichu~" The tone in the Pichu's voice was annoyed, but it came back up to Ed, who scratched his head behind the ears.
Ed looked back over at Alfons. "I got in touch with a girl in the next town over. I was going to meet her there. You want to tag along?" It was uncanny how much this Al was like his own brother. They would probably make a pretty good team if they stuck together, and maybe they could go on this 'badge challenge' together to get back to their respective homes.
no subject
...he probably wouldn't have asked if it wasn't, but Alfons was hard-wired to be polite.
no subject
He gave an uneasy grin to Al. He had been sure that Gluttony had already eaten him. He didn't want to experience such a thing twice.
no subject
"...at least we can agree that this is crazy."
no subject
"Maybe on the way we can figure out this whole world-jumping-time morphing thing." Ed was more concerned about the world-jumping, but the fact that he now had very little doubt about the time morphing going on here made it somewhat important to find out more about that too.
[audio]
Envy half wished that he could claim that he'd come up with the fake mother as a joke. As far as he was concerned, Ed deserved it. And he was in a worse mood than usual after being holed up in some stupid little shop for days hiding from bugs, then having another member of his group get poisoned and having to deal with that too. And Ed was, unfortunately, absolutely the perfect target to take out all that frustration on.
"Well, Fullmetal, she's everyone who comes here's mother. Why are you so upset, you didn't even have to make her yourself this time."
[audio] Hi thar!
"What the hell do you want?" Damnit. Why couldn't have Gluttony really eaten him? Ed would much rather not have to worry about this freak while he was stuck here. "If you're just going to piss me off, then just shut the hell up."
[audio] I almost feel like I should apologize for Envy being such an ass XD
He made his voice sound mockingly upset, "I guess I just felt like talking to someone from home, it's been a while since Greed vanished, and now the military man that was here is gone too."
[audio] Naaaaaaaah. Then I'd have to apologize for Ed being an ass too.
Ed wanted to ignore that last statement. It would be easy to just press the 'End Call' button and close the phone, but he had to know...
"What are you talking about?" Ed couldn't care less about Greed. For all he knew, that guy was dead. The more homunculi out of the picture, the better. But the person from the military? It couldn't have been the Colonel, since he had just seen him not too long ago. Who was it?
[audio]
Envy's tone was semi-infuriatingly pleasant now, with an edge to it. He'd figured out that in his future he's the one who kills the guy, but more importantly he'd figured out that Ed you little bastard you told people about what happened in Lab 5, who else did you tell?
"Although I guess you must, considering he knew about us homunculi." Envy's glare wasn't visible over the audio, but oh it's there.
[audio]
Ed wanted nothing more than to beat that thing up into a bloody pulp. He ignored Envy's last comment. A lot of people knew about the homunculi now, so what did it matter to him?
"Just tell me what you want then shut up." Ed didn't have to listen to this bullshit. He could just hang up, but Envy had to have called him for a reason other than pissing him off. Well, he had better have a better reason.
[audio]
Well maybe not all the time, but enough that it wasn't an isolated case. But if Ed knew about Hughes being dead, then that meant he was from Envy's future too. Figured. And as for what he wanted...really, he had just been looking to piss Ed off. And if Ed was from the future, then--
"Thing is, he isn't dead in the time I'm from. I'd have known about it." Because Envy'd supposedly killed him. Not that he was going to let Ed know this, and he'd lie if asked. "So what I want to know is, what was happening when you got pulled here? Besides Gluttony eating me, which is ridiculous."
[audio]
Ed looked down at his Pichu, and it looked back up at him with a concerned look on it's face. The fact that that thing existed was a mystery, yet there it was. Ed didn't have any kind of grasp on how any of this crap was possible, but then, he was also realizing that maybe all this isn't as far-fetched as he might think.
"You were there to stop Gluttony from eating me and Al, but you were stupid and told him to eat Ling, and also spat out the nice little fact that you guys don't want me or Al to die, so we started fighting and it looked like Gluttony ate us. Well, maybe not Al, but definitely you, me, and Ling."
Sure, Ed could have lied, but then Envy probably would have a hard time figuring that out. Plus, there could be a clue somewhere as to how to get back to where they came from. Even if it was a slight chance, it was worth it. He couldn't leave Al by himself...
[audio]
"If Gluttony ate you, you're dead. And he couldn't have eaten me because I'd be able to stop him before he finished his first bite. It's not like he can eat anyone accidentally. Don't try to feed me such stupid lies."
Even saying that, he knew that Ed didn't sound like he was lying. This was quickly turning into a headache. Johto barely made sense, but home should at least.
[audio]
"Are you going to let me hang up, or are you going to waste more of my time?" Talking to Envy wasn't very enjoyable. That, and he had more important things to do, like to find a way back home and teach his Pokemon to control it's powers so it didn't accidentally kill him.
