To Cherrygrove City, AWAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! [Open for those in the area.]
Who: Edward Elric, Alfons Heiderich, and anyone else who wants to call Ed a shorty.
Where: Route 29
When: Today, likely extending to the next two days.
Summary: Ed got a message from Katara who is currently in Cherrygrove, and Ed plans on meeting her there.
Rating: PG-13 since Ed has such a terrible potty mouth.
Log:
Ed stood at the edge of New Bark Town, holding the map he had in his pack and frowning. Was this thing even to scale? He folded it back up and sighed. "We're not gonna get anywhere just by staring at a map." He knelt to pick up Aurum (his Pichu), but the little Pokemon nimbly scaled his arm and rested on his shoulder. Ed could still feel an electric charge coming from him, but it was much better than being outright shocked with who know who many volts.
"Ready to go?" He glanced at Alfons and started walking without waiting for an answer. The road wasn't the greatest, but it still beat no road at all.

"Y-yeah!" Well, he'd just have to be, wouldn't he?
He scooped up Schatzi, who settled happily in his arms (enjoying the attention, obviously), threw the strap of his bag over his shoulder, and jogged to catch up with Edward.
It was amazing how light his breathing felt, ever since he found himself here, he'd felt like the energy his illness had sapped out of him had come back.
Just checked the forcast for today...
He kept his pace somewhat slow because of it. Dying from dehydration wasn't allowed. (Well, dying in general wasn't allowed.) He just hoped that the not-so-detailed map had missed a source of water on the way to Cherrygrove City.
The bugs that he had been told about were scattered along the side of the road, most of them heading for the shade of the tall grass and bushes that lined the path. Ed had no idea what had happened, but he was glad he had missed it. Those things really were huge. "I'm glad we weren't around for that."
It's freaking hot, isn't it? XD
"It wouldn't have been good, that's for sure." They were so huge.
Schatzi yipped, tossing her head. She would have been able to take care of them, no problem.
Indeed it is. /ded
"Can't this place pay for decent roads? How are people supposed to get anywhere?" Ed's mood was quickly deteriorating. He could already feel his automail heating up to the point where it was more than a little uncomfortable. He took Aurum from his shoulder and set him on the ground. "Sorry, but you're walking on your own for now."
Poor cranky Ed.
Says the guy who doesn't have a heat-conducting arm to worry about.
Don't forget his leg...
And then Aurum's ears perked up. Ed didn't notice until not too long afterwards, rustling could be heard in the tall grass. Aurum tugged on his leg. "What? It's probably a rat." There had to be rats in this world, right? Ed couldn't think of a place that didn't have rats. (Other than the desert in Xing, but that didn't count since Ed was convinced nothing could live there.)
And indeed, that's what it was. A Rattata hopped out of the surround grass and bumped into Ed's automail leg. Aurum jumped off, sparks flying from its cheeks as it faced the purple rat. "Hey, leave it alone. Let's go."
"Pichu pi!!"
The Pichu stayed where it was and continued to show hostilities to the Rattata, which wagged it's tail, though it didn't seem too happy either. "If you want to zap it so bad, go ahead! Just hurry up so we can find some shade!"
Aurum did what he was told, and a bolt of electricity was sent straight at the Rattata, hitting it with full force. It passed out, and Aurum returned to his master with a grin on its face. Ed looked up at Al. "I don't know if I should praise him or yell at him for attacking harmless animals."
That too!
Alfons felt kind of sorry for the poor thing. "You can catch others to take with you."

"Oh, yeah. I think I read that in the manual." Aurum had reattached himself to Ed's leg. "Hey. I told you to walk yourself."
Ed took a gulp of water from the water bottle that was in the bag and wiped off some sweat. "Let's keep going before my automail cooks me alive."

"There's a few shade trees around. Maybe we should wait until later in the afternoon, when the sun isn't so hot..."
If the heat was making Edward so uncomfortable, that is.

"I told that girl I'd be there in two days. If this weather keeps up, it'll take forever." He lifted his head and gazed at Alfons. "If I die, save yourself." Despite dead-pan voice, Ed was joking. Al (his brother) and Winry would kill him if he died.
Aurum didn't get it though, and picked up Ed's water bottle, squirting him in the face.

He settled in the grass near where Edward had let himself fall, leaning back on his hands.
"You're not going to die." Honestly, Alfons half believed that wasn't possible, if all the stories Edward told were indeed true. "We'll just wait a while. It'll be fine."
no subject
"Pi-"
"Hey, you had it coming."
Ed then opened his bag and took out a Pokeball, turning it in his hands, examining it closely. "The manual said we use these things to catch other Pokemon." He held it next to his Pichu. "Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't look like it would make a comfortable fit."
