Who:
bakaitoukid and YOU [open]
Where: Goldenrod City Museum of Historical Artwork
When: Late evening April 18th
Summary: KAITOU KID'S FIRST HEIST, and so far it's going fairly well. Jewel in hand, the white-clad thief makes his escape... and potentially runs into a few people on the way.
Rating: G - PG?
Log:
[A disarmed security system here, a wooed Officer Jenny there, and a convincing museum curator disguise to top it all off... as predicted, breaking into Goldenrod's Museum of Historical Artwork had been a cinch. Cracking into the glass case that held the Lugia's Tear diamond was even easier, and within a mere span of ten minutes, Kid had his target in hand and was waving delightfully at an enraged pack of Officer Jennies, before darting out of the display room to make his escape.
Escaping was way too easy as well (this group of officers was even more incompetent than Inspector Nakamori's crew), and it didn't take him long to send them on a wild goose chase while he climbed the stairwell to the roof without being pursued. He had been busy during the near eleven months that had lead up to this heist... all those months holed up in his inn rooms fiddling with mechanics trying to recreate his heist tools had paid off. The roof was a perfect, inconspicuous exit-- especially with a hang glider in tow]
It feels like it's been a while since I've had the chance to fly. Heh.
[With the bravery of someone with the utmost confidence that absolutely nothing bad would happen to him next, he balanced precariously on the edge of the rooftop of the museum, before pitching forward and dropping into thin air. He allowed himself to free fall for a few seconds before his hang-glider was activated, and the rest of the fall was spent drifting slowly and carefully to the ground.
He landed in an alleyway near the museum, straightening up almost immediately and deactivating his wings, before he tossed the jewel into the air and caught it with a triumphant smirk]
That was way too easy. ♥
[His decoy should have the Jennies halfway across town by now. All that was left was to strip the Kid disguise and make his way back home...]
((ANYONE IS FREE TO RUN INTO HIM, they'll just be conversing with Kid for a bit before he makes like a phantom and disappears. I-if you don't mind I'd like for him to get away this time, but your character is welcome to try and stop them if you please))

But she did want a few answers from him. Especially about what happened back home. it was all so......confusing to her. Just what was his goal? Why did he turn against Nightmare?
She had been running all over Goldenrod, trying to find him, and corner him. Aoko wasn't about to let him slip away, not when it was something important.
And at last, she found, slinking around in an alleyway. Aoko, determined as ever, ran in his direction, and stopped a ways behind him.]
Kid.

He turns to face her, pulling the brim of his hat down over his eyes to shield his expression]
Ah, Nakamori-chan! ♥ You decided to come after all.

And arresting him was the last thing on her mind. How many times had her father tried and failed to get him? And here she was, probably closer than he ever got to Kid.]
Of course I came. I.....I have to ask you a few questions.
no subject
Ask away, Miss! But I can't promise actual answers to them all.
no subject
You were.......working with Nightmare one time, weren't you?

Guess who followed you all the way here?
GUESS WHO DISGUISED HIMSELF AS ONE OF THE POLICE TRYING TO CATCH KAITOU KID?
Yeah, it's Daisuke. Being a phantom thief himself kinda helped with tracking him down and stuff, but dear god, the actual tracking was actually brutal.]
Do you really think so?
no subject
Do you intend to prove me wrong?
no subject
[Then Daisuke starts running at Kaitou Kid. He's not exactly the fastest, but he's pretty decent in speed in terms of human standards.]
no subject
Only to reappear behind Daisuke, almost as if he teleported]
Far too slow!

[So once the police head off in hot pursuit, she slips out of the accumulated crowd in front of the museum and heads off on the off-chance that she might run into him. WHICH SHE WILL...]
[But first...]
[Somewhere near the thief's feet, something rustles. A CHIP BAG. ... A ... WALKING CHIP BAG. ... Which is also croaking loudly.]
Krk krk krk [WHISTLE.] Kait-- ooooo.
no subject
Okay. He could play this off, couldn't he? No big deal. He was, after all, Kaitou Kid]
Not quite, my talking inanimate object friend. [He's not glancing at the chip bag, either. Instead, he's looking around for a person]
Kaitou Kid.
no subject
Ouw! [The bag replies cheerfully, scuttling over to his leg.]
no subject
What a curious little creature you are.

[And as soon as he'd spotted Bas running in circles trying to get the Jennies to go for the stairs UP instead of OFF THAT WAY, Heiji ...hadn't bothered heading for the roof. Nope.]
[Instead, he'd headed for a larger window and whistled for Kaguya, and waited until after the decoy-he'd-heard-of-Kid-using-on-how-many-heists had headed off for the OTHER white shape in the air. The one actually USING the wind.]
[Yes, Kaito, that is a crazy detective using a Yanmega to chase the hang glider from the air.]
no subject
WELL THEN.
Normal thieves might have been troubled by a development like this one. Kaito? He just grinned and tilted his hang glider downward.
Catch me if you can, Tantei-san~]

But it is an option, just in case. For now, Kid will be banking a hard right, once again in an attempt to see if he can lose track of his pursuer]

P-Piko, don't...!
no subject
... he knows that voice, though. But he can't say anything about it, since he has only spoken to her in person as 'Kaito,' not Kid]
You're-- Togetic is rather lively tonight.

When she heard something coming from an alley she made her way over, curiously.]
What was way too easy?
[The voice certainly sounded familiar.]

I take it you missed my announcement, Miss?
aah! Sorry about the lateness!
I believe I did.
tis okay!
Then it's nothing you need to worry about.
