This time nothing was stopping this meeting from happening.

Even when they had met at the Ice cream party, and wasn't that a bit of a heartwarming meeting, Lion and Hayate still had something Very Important pending.

Because of this, as soon as news came about Hayate visiting Violet once more, and after getting confirmation from him that there would be time for such a thing, Lion had started getting everything ready.
Lion picked between all the blends of tea around, the ones that would go best with cake, and made sure to choose a nice quiet place to set the table and chairs...

Oh this time there was going to be cake, tea and some nice conversation under the shade of a tree, and there was nobody who was stopping it.


And so that takes us to today. When Lion has finished setting everything up about ten minutes earlier than the meeting time, and is now waiting for Hayate.

Meeting a dear friend again was always something wonderful, wasn't it?

*Hayate was very excited for today! He hasn't really seen Lion since their meeting at the ice cream party, so getting to have a nice one-on-one with the host was something he had been looking forward to ever since they first planned it.

Which is exactly why the butler was trotting up to the place they were going to meet at, a spring in his step, as he waved a arm enthusiastically to Lion. Only one though, as the other was carefully holding a white box with the cake he had made for the two of them to share!*

*... He kind of looked and sounded like a girl running up to meet their boyfriend.*

[To be sincere Lion was pretty excited about this whole thing too. Given the... Special circumstances Lion was in, Hayate was pretty much one of the closest people Lion had in Johto.

So there was waving back, even if a little more subdued than Hayate's awesome girly antics, and a warm smile.]

There was no need to hurry, it's still early.

[Says Lion who came here an hour before to get everything ready. But nobody has to know that. *shifty*]

*Normally Hayate would have done his best to get here super early, but he had a cake to bake and put the finishing touches on, so he settled for just a little early.*

That's not true... The earlier I arrive, the more time we'll have together! That's plenty of reason for me to get here a couple of minutes early. ♥

Mm! I wouldn't miss the chance to see you in person again for anything.

*And he shall be settling himself in across from Lion, carefully placing the box the cake is in down in front of them... He goes quiet for a moment afterward, mustering up a bit of courage*

Hey, um... Lion-san...? Can I make a request, before we start?

[Lion quickly makes space so the box can fit in the table without trouble and then looks up.]

Of course, just tell me...

Ah, well, um... *pushing his fingers together and looking down and off to the side as he starts* W... We've known each other a long time now, and, ah... Th.... This might sound kind of weird and... Y-You don't have to if it makes you uncomfortable in anyway, but, um...

*Giving the most awkward smile through all the blushing he's doing right now as he looks back up to Lion* W... Would you be willing to call me by my first name...?

[Lion actually feels relieved, since with all the panic it seemed like it would be something a little more terrifying... Not that Lion was against Hayate being so considerate about it, of course.

But with all the things that had happened, and with Hayate knowing about that one big secret... They were really close, even if they had only known each other for a little more than half a year, weren't they?

So have a nod, and a smile.]

We are friends, right? I don't think there is anything uncomfortable about calling a dear friend by his first name.

... eh? R-Really? *Hayate had never actually asked someone to use his first name before, it always just kind of happened with everyone else here, so he was ridiculously nervous about asking Lion to do this... But with that reply, he can't help but clasp his hands together as his flustered smile brightened.

Being called a 'dear friend' might have something to do with that smile being so red*

It's not a strange request at all... If anything, I must ask you that you don't worry so much when requesting things of me.

*He would never have the guts to ask that, cry. He'll just keep what he thinks Lion is to himself... And at hearing Lion actually say his name like that for the first time, he giggles a bit.*

That reminds me, is this place good for you? It took me a while to decide, since I wanted something with fresh air and a nice shade...

I made sure of checking the surroundings for wild pokémon before choosing. [And the tablecloth and tea set kinda suit the surroundings' coloring too, sob.]

Ehehe... You really went all out to set up a good atmosphere, Lion-san! I just hope my confectionery contribution lives up to everything on your end.

It was the least I could do after having to push this day back so much... And I must admit I'm really looking forward to tasting that cake.

I went a long way to find something that would compliment any kind of cake, but also something that could be considered typical of Johto... So I thought a blend would be better than just plain or flavored tea.

It's made mostly of herbs that can be found around the forests of Johto, along with a base of black tea.
