Rating: uhh...PG for possible language?
Log:
[To say that John was "looking forward" to his second date with Rose would be a gross understatement. He had barely been able to sleep the night before they left and ended up knocking on Rose's door at five in the morning because he'd finally given up on the notion of sleep entirely. Plus, weren't you supposed to leave early for camping trips?]
[Unsurprisingly, Rose hadn't expected him that early. She'd given him a very bleary look, stepped back into her room to give her clock a bleary look and then asked "...are we leaving 'lready?"]
[Even less surprisingly...she'd fallen right back asleep the minute they had both clambered inside Elliot and gone on their way. But that was okay. Because she had fallen asleep on John's shoulder and he had absolutely no qualms with that at all.]
[And then a few hours later, his excitement wore off and he too fell asleep. Wow, their trip was off to a great start already!]
[Elliot wasn't the fastest pokemon but fortunately, being a ghost, he didn't really need a lot of sleep. So their four day trip ended up taking only two. Once inside the forest, Elliot went back inside his ball for some much needed rest while the two kids shouldered their packs and began walking through the forest, hand-in-hand.]
[Surely this was going to be the best camping-trip-dino-hunt-vacation-date-extravaganza ever! Also possibly the first ever, because seriously, who besides John would come up with something as crazy as this?]

Wait for it.
...wait for it...]]
...an empty house.

[Sorry. That revelation was just not as creepy as the buildup to it. John's a little disappointed.]

As expected, again, nothing worked, and so our hero headed for the door to the south. However, instead of it leading outside, he merely walked through it.
This lead him into a black area, where the outline of his sprite turned white. He continued walking further and further and further south, until eventually he came upon a white area. As with the black area, his sprite outline changed color appropriately, becoming black now.
He moved south further still, not daring go anywhere save for on a linear path. He would stop eventually, right?
Well, eventually did come, though it was not accompanied by a stop. No, what eventually brought with it was Gold's regular sprite.
It stood there, and he stood there, before finally moving to approach it. He pressed A, figuring it would not interact.
It did.
It spoke.
"Goodbye, forever, ..."

Or something like that.]]
And then, he vanished. Before the player could do anything, however, another set of words appeared on the screen.
"??? used Nightmare". Again, the sprite began spinning, sinking slowly downward, and the player once again found himself within that small confined room from before.
Only this time, there was no sprite. No matter how much he tried to move, nothing moved. So he decided to check his trainer.
That sprite, too, had vanished. It read that he had no badges, and the pictures of all the Johto gym leaders? They'd all been replaced by skulls.
Checking his party next, he was left with six new Unknown. Their messages for him this time was "I'm dead".
Upon exiting to the overworld, his small room was filled with the same brick blocks as the walls were. He came to realize exactly what this room was when the final word played across the screen.
"R.I.P..."
He was in a grave.
[[Her tone was becoming more matter-of-fact than creepy story teller.]]

...is that it?

[[And she will just give you a pleasant smile.]]
As it turns out, Gold had been dead throughout the entire ordeal. Presumably having died a few years after defeating Red.

...They ripped that ending off of The Sixth Sense. And yet, just like The Sixth Sense, I never saw it coming.

[[Chuckling, she pulls her knees to her chest so she can rest her cheek against them.]]

[He resumes brushing Casey once more.]
Though I will admit, you did have me going there for a while. But about halfway through it just lost its creepy edge. Even with your amazing story telling techniques.

[[Laying down, she hums a little.]]
What kind of girlfriend would I be if I did that? And I would still enjoy watching it with you, I'm sure.
no subject
You would still be the most amazing girlfriend ever, don't worry. But I assure you, even if you did tell a story that had me completely terrified, I wouldn't have nightmares.

[He's hurrying a little more with the brushing than he normally would...but normally we would be done by now! So he has to make up for all that lost time, as Casey seems to be getting pretty tired herself.]

[[Speaking of Pokemon, guess who is slipping out of Rose's bag finally? Guile had been sleeping in there most of the day. Even through being picked up and carried around - she's used to that. But now she's making an appearance, giving John and Casey a sleepy look before moving to...well. Sit on Rose's head pretty much.]]
Oh well goodmorning you.
