The One Where Everything Went Wrong

Who: Everyone in the Breeding Centre House!
Where: ...The Breeding Centre House; Assorted areas of Goldenrod City
When: Evening of October 29th into early morning October 30th, beginning about a half hour after THIS post.
Summary: Souji and Yosuke have a fight! All over the house! In front of everyone! And then things happen and Yosuke wanders Goldenrod!
Rating: W for W-T-F NOOOOOOOOOOOO FIGHTING!! Or you know, there will be yelling and cursing and some things.

Everything is being broken up separately to save time and not spam everyone's f-lists, so here's the breakdown!

THE FIGHT THREAD: This is where Souji and Yosuke will have the actual argument. Others are welcome to threadjack to react to one another as this goes down, provided they don't try to talk to the two fighters, who will ignore them in their fury. After the big thing that is a thing happens (and both sides acknowledge it), you should threadjack this with all your reaction faces ever! Immediately after this concludes, it will split up into...

THE SOUJI THREAD: Souji will remain in the house, reacting/calming down/whatever protags do in this situation. Those who are not planning to leave the house can talk to Souji now about all the things!
THE YOSUKE THREAD: Yosuke will be leaving the house to try and clear his mind. He will have no Pokémon with him, only his wallet. He will most likely be freaking out to some degree; he may be aimlessly wandering, he may be sitting in an alley contemplating crawling into a dumpster, he may be outside the inn or at the Pokémon Center. Those who chase him out of the house or are in Goldenrod can talk to him here (note: he'll only talk to his CR if they're not housemates because of his mental state).

THE NEXT DAY: This thread will be closed to Souji and Yosuke and will take place around 5AM Sunday, when Yosuke finally slips back into the house and tries to crawl in his bed. (ninja)

EVERYTHING ELSE! Make your own threads outside of the aforementioned ones to react post-fight, come up with IC game plans and go "wtf why are souji and yosuke fighting EVERYTHING IS WROOONG." Souji and Yosuke won't reply to these threads, but have fun and talk to each other about anything!

Ichi and I will get things started in the individual Souji and Yosuke aftermath threads when the fight is over/mostly over, so please refrain replying to those until we set the scenes up! If you can't/don't want to track anything, PM Ichi and I via LJ/Plurk and we will let you know when everything is totally running and functional for the whole bunch. ♥♥

Please feel free to add your character's tag if you're going to/do tag in! I'll be going through it to add everyone periodically if we miss people, but it'll help!

[ Rise's legs aren't as long as Yosuke's and she doesn't have a Persona to track him down, so she's forced to rely on the good old-fashioned method of running around and calling for him. Talking with Yumi slowed her down a little, but she's sprinting now. ]

Yosuke-senpai! Yosuke-senpai!!

[When he's finally hit the point where he cannot run anymore, he's slumped up against a nearby building, forearm covering his face. There are sobs - though they are as silent as he can managed; riddled with guilt, it's now hard for him to keep his emotions in check at all. He hears Rise, but he doesn't acknowledge her -- but he's also not running anymore, either.]

[He feels like a fool, an idiot and a coward right now. Everything in his head is jumbled and feels broken -- he can't fight it right now.]

[ she's so frantic to find him that she nearly runs right past him, though brakes in time when she spots that figure. She's still upset, but concern overpowers any anger - there'll be plenty of that later - and when she steps forward, she's quiet.

In the end, she says nothing at first, only places a hand gently on his back. ]

[He knows it's her, not just because he heard her, but he would recognize her touch anywhere. She's done this before, so many times when he's needed her most throughout this ordeal -- and with this time being no exception, he completely loses it.]

[He has been fighting since he left the house to not break down completely, but he can't hold it back. He is guilty for the things he said, the accusations he made, for drawing out that sort of reaction and saying the worst things he could say to his best friend. He feels guilty for liking that kiss; for feeling wanted or needed by someone else, and he feels guilty for not being able to face that, despite how much he knows he's wanted something to come of these feelings. He's not able; this is the first time his attraction equated to something physical, and it makes him feel ill because he's not ready for that.]

[Under no control of his own, he heaves with sobs, completely tripping all the wires and breaking that last straw.]

[ just as Yosuke knows it's Rise, Rise knows exactly what reaching out to him now will do to him, just as she suspects what's running through his mind right now. But even with that knowledge, she's still caught off-guard when he suddenly breaks, and the hand on his shuddering back withdraws.

Only for Rise to step around him, nudge him away from the building, and wrap her arms fully around him. The way she'd hugged him when they'd talked about her leaving is nothing compared to the ferocity of her grip now. Yosuke doesn't need girly affectionate hugs right now, he needs an anchor, and if he can't support himself right now, Rise will do it for him.

Later, she'll think that she's done this more times than she's liked, holding onto one boy, doing her best to ease the strain and confusion of a relationship she's not a part of, but where she'd been heartbroken and aching for Niou, with Yosuke, she's fierce and unyielding. Protective, for someone shorter, more delicate than the one she's holding up now. ]

It's not fine, I know. But I'm here until it is.

[It's true - it's exactly what he needs in this moment, but he's not really too just how much. He moves only enough so she can take that position, but remains still otherwise. It's odd - just how much solace he takes in her embrace. Maybe that's because it's Rise, and for even longer than this whole fiasco with Souji has been going on, he's craved this from her as well.]

[Just not exactly in this way.]

[He draws in the deepest breath he can manage, using all of his strength of will to regain his composure. This is backwards, it's wrong. He couldn't comfort her properly when she needed it, and yet... here Rise is. Being strong enough for the two of them. It's definitely true, what she lacks in stature, she makes up in heart, and there's no way anyone on the team could go on without her support. It's a thoughtless motion, the way his arms wrap around her, clinging in a desperate way.]

[He squeezes his eyes shut, and after a few minutes, he seems to calm a bit, though he's still motionless. The sobs calm into deep breaths, and finally, he manages to speak, his voice raw.]

I really fucked this one up, huh.

You weren't ready for it. [ maybe it's a reassurance, or a correction, but that's what Rise saw, and that's what she'll point out now. Souji did manage to get his point across, but she's not happy that things had to escalate to that extent when they were both already unstable. She's quiet for an additional moment, letting him hold her, and shooing away a developing headache because she really isn't sure how to fix this. Or if she even can. ]

... But I don't think either of you saw that coming.

[He remains this way, still and quiet, heart rapidly thumping in his chest. The whole thing is repeating in his mind, and he shakes his head a little, as if that will suddenly make the images go away.]

N-No... I mean, I didn't, but... Everything. Crap. Everything I said...

What an idiot, right? [His breath hitches, then resumes in short, shallow, panicked breaths. Every time is seems like he may calm down, he gets worked up -- maybe too much so, but months of tension suddenly exploding in his face this way is like no single thing he's ever experience. Especially not when it's Souji. Or maybe because it's Souji.]

Hey, Yosuke-senpai. [ she frowns as his breathing changes, lifting her head and gazing at him steadily. ] Thinking about it over and over right now won't help-- so just look at me, okay? Focus on something else for a minute.

[It can't be helped. Yosuke's never been the most tactful person, but he said a lot of inappropriate things that he fully knows happened to be completely out of line. This is always how it is - his brain-to-mouth filter shorts out and he says things he really shouldn't. Last night was one of those times, and he'd somehow made it so bad that Souji followed suit.]

[That's bad. Really bad.]

[The kiss? That's... it can be explained, shoved away, ignored. It's weighing heavily on his mind for more reasons than he can possibly verbalize, but he knows that somehow, they can find a way to validate it - write it off - whatever, to whoever saw it. How? He's not sure yet, but he can't think straight enough to worry about it right now. One thing at a time.]

[Starting with reluctantly looking up at her, expression clearly riddled with a slew of conflicting emotions.]

[ Rise holds still underneath his unsure gaze, all the anger and shock and confusion and worry having receded some time ago, to be replaced by an odd sort of calm. It's the same quiet determination she'd felt when she'd stood up to fight the very first time, and it's with that feeling that she regards him now. ]

There you go. See, I'm right here.

[ if all she can do is keep him in this moment, that's fine, too. ]

[He's wordless, nodding is head. He understands what she's trying to do, and shit, he's grateful. Even Yosuke knows that his emotions are all out of control, that anger having morphed into a full-blown attack of panic and anxiety. Nothing had gone right, and he knows he is mostly at fault.]

[He was annoyed about Souji never telling him -- but he flew off the handle, lost his rationality and completely overreacted in the most harmful way. It's always worse when other people get involved and in every way, he wishes he'd just stayed in his room and silently fumed for a while, much in the way he usually did.]

[There's no going back now, though.]

....Ye-yeah. Thanks.

[ she shakes her head in response, eyebrows furrowed. She's used to being thanked after doing a good job, after doing something, at the end of the day. But this? It's not reassuring when she still feels like she should do more, despite knowing that there's very little Rise can do to fix this.

But she says nothing about that. ]

Is it a little better?

I'll be okay. [He says it weakly, offering the very slightest of nods. His stomach his still churning, his shoulders are still quaking -- but his breathing is beginning to regulate, and so is his pulse. The worst of the anxiety attack seems to be subsiding now.]

[He doesn't really know if he'll be okay. He doesn't know if this can be repaired. He doesn't know if he can even face anyone in the house who heard the fight -- who saw what happened. He's not sure; he needs time, he needs space. His brain feels jumbled and cluttered right now.]

Y-you should go back to the house.

Are you serious?

[ really, Rise doesn't look as though that's a great idea. She only just caught up with him, and now he's asking her to turn back? ]

[It's probably not a good idea, but he says it more out of concern for Souji's state than his own. Guilt is immeasurably more prevalent than everything else right now. It'll change a number of times tonight, but for right now, this is it.]

He -- he needs you too.

And you don't need to stay out here by yourself.

I... just need to clear my head.

...

[ after a moment, because she does need to check on Souji, too-- ]

Do it under a roof, okay? And don't stay out too long?

I'll go to the Pokémon Center, or the Inn. [He says it quietly, pulling back a little and rubbing his face.]

[ and she releases him, taking a reluctant step back. ]

You'd better... no one's going to feel any better about this if you get a cold out of it.

[He nods, averting his gaze.]

I'll stop and get an umbrella on the way.

Yeah... okay.

[ she sounds like she's trying not to cry. How did it end up like this...? ]

Hey... [He can hear it. He doesn't have to look at her to know from the sound of her voice.] E-everything will be fine. We... just need to clear our heads.

[Though he says it, he doesn't sound very reassuring. He's trying, but when he's not sure if he can believe it, it's hard.]

[ she won't cry, simply because she won't let herself, so after a few more minutes of silence, she glances away herself. ]

Don't... leave it like this.
