Valentine's Masquerade
Who: Minnie, Saber, and anyone who wants to join the party!
Where: Goldenrod.
When: Forward dated to 20th,with apologies for earliness, Afternoon to Night.
Summary: The girls are holding a Masquerade to finish off the feel of good vibes and loving sentiment. A chance to build CR, since they've offered to Fly in anyone for the day!
Rating: G, will change if needed.
Log:
With the last of the Pokemon singing vibes wafting their way out, there’s still a chance to have a fairly normal time here in Goldenrod. The Valentine’s Masquerade has been prepared, and the beautiful hostesses are ready to attend to their guests need. They rented out a small, one floor building for their needs, and it has been lavishly decorated in white frills, pink and red hearts, and the occasional cupid.
There’s more than enough room on the dance floor, as elegant ballroom music plays, courtesy of those nice folks at the Radio Tower. For those who are not exactly ready for the ballroom blitz, there are paper footprints on the floor to help you around if you’d like a waltz or foxtrot.
Some tables have been set up if you want a break from dancing. The first is a table for cards and masks – this is a masquerade after all! You can cut up your own from paper for cards, and paint your own choice of colors for the soft mask molds. There is glitter, feathers, glue, beads, fake jewelry, everything you’d need to create a pretty disguise and express how you feel in the written word.
A second table is full on banquet of Valentines sweets. A chocolate fountain has been set up, along with several dipping choices – fruits and extra candy, naturally. There are handmade chocolates there as well – milk, dark, white, full of peanuts, almonds, etc – but for those of you who can’t stand chocolate anymore, there is plenty of fresh cut up fruit to snack on. There’s also a large punch bowl for the thirsty, but you will get a nasty finger wagging at if you spike it.
Off in the corner, many books of poetry are piled up. Granted, they are mostly about Pokemon, but it’s the thought that counts. There’s also a stool and microphone set if you’d like to read your own creations, or perhaps croon to your sweetheart.
Please don’t tag until this sentence has a line through it. Have fun!

...admittedly, being approached by this likely isn't exactly what anyone had in mind, but the deep bow from the waist that she's offered is gentlemanly enough, as is the hand being offered to her.]
Might I ask the lady to honor me with a dance?
no subject
So instead, she glances up at him before taking the offered hand without a word. She might not look particularly interested, but at least that's better than being rejected on the spot?]
no subject
She later lost her distant look and began looking around for a familiar face.. ]
open!
As for what she's wearing, just imagine something like this except it covers that awful
sororityouroboros tattoo since no one is seeing that until they buy her dinner and prove that they're a trustworthy source that doesn't leak stuff to Mustang. Oh, and, she's wearing this masquerade mask because surprisingly it's a masquerade and this lady is always prepared unless it's about estimating humanity. For now, she isn't doing anything too attention grabbing except wearing a fucking bird on her head and being a stunningly gorgeous wallflower with a classy drink in her hand. Perhaps you should approach her for light conversation or asking her to dance! If you impress her, you might just see her ankles! ]

for the glorious Major Alex Louis Armstrong you could at least manage a knee!]]
Miss Isabella?
[[With decidedly less sparkle now, have said Major approaching you! He's wearing this minus the cape, except the coat is light purple; a direct match to the shiny Ducklett sitting on his shoulder, judging everyone. To top off the outfit is this mask!]]
You look enchanting this evening!
no subject
With the fact that someone from the Amestrian military is openly approaching her, she can't help but to feel great that he thinks she's legitimately someone else. She starts to smile, a smile that's a bit more expressive than her usual, more subtle, range of expressions.
Also what the hell are you wearing? Despite the outside smile, be very assure that Lust is judging your fashion (and common) sense deep down beneath this outfit boy. Just. Wow. Someone needs to get Joan fucking Rivers on this. ]
Ah, yes, it is me. Hello, Major Armstrong. [ Sticking out her (thankfully gloved) hand. ] Thank you for the warm compliments, you're quite majestic looking yourself. [ That term, to Lust, is usually reserved for horses but Alex will make a special exception. ]

I was going to tag the shirtless thread but /sob... too many threads. WILL MAKE IT UP TO YOU HERE?
Beautiful evening, don't you think?
IT'S OKAY IT'S OKAY <3 ;w; no worries!
The voice should sound very familiar to Hughes. All too familiar! It's Isabella, of course. ]
Yes. It's simply a wonderful evening [ except it's not ], I'm glad I showed up [ Because now I am home. ]. Aren't you glad you arrived, Mr. Hughes?

[Like everyone else, Isaac is dressed up in a dark blue outfit
that isn't going to be described any further because the mun was too lazy to think of it, and he's actually been forced into looking nicer. His hair is still ridiculously long, but it's tied back lower and looks... about as nice as hair that long really can on a man of his stature. He's also clean-shaven and looking horribly awkward.][But! He'll try to enjoy himself as best he can! Which means attempting to find that woman Hughes was so insistent he see. That... is proving about as easy as one would imagine, considering Hughes described her and this is a masquerade. Yeah. At least he can look for long, dark hair--]
[Why hello there.]
Good evening.
[...Welp, there went all the classiness he's ever had. And the awkward is about to kick in within five seconds!]
no subject
But, she might as well play nice. There wasn't anything that'd be too terrible about this man, right? After all, a brief conversation during a masquerade was something she pulled off dozens of times before. Why would this time be any different? Lust, within a split second, adopts the most pleasant persona she can think of. The one that constantly brown noses the likes of Hughes and Alex.
She sticks out a single hand. ]
As to yourself. Are you enjoying the festivities? [ Don't worry. She came prepared. There's blow, and something to give her retrograde amnesia in her purse. Her misanthropy knows no bounds! ]

Having a rather lovely date for the evening is one; wearing something that's classy if you don't know him, and in horrendously bad taste if you do, is definitely another. Of course, given Johto's apparent dislike of weapons his version of the outfit is obviously missing the sword, as well as going without the, er, drapes that are trying to pass themselves off as a cape; his hair is down for once, rather than tied back, having been played with enough to render it decidedly less flat.
Just the same...Red Death, indeed.
However! It's nice to be back in civilization, as opposed to on the routes or in the tiny towns along the way; questionable taste or not, Kimblee's mood is still a good one, even without the added energy-high brought on by whatever the last few days have been.]
no subject
Which is lovely and classy! Why wouldn't it be? He's a gentleman who happens to be wearing red, that's all!
All the makeup and masks in the world can't hide Emmy's rather excitable voice and mannerisms, however, and she turns to Kimblee, beaming.]]
Isn't this exciting, Mr Kimblee? I haven't been to something this fancy since...
[[....thinking....]]
...well...ever!

Is that so? Well, in that case, we certainly should ensure that it's a nice evening, then.

The flash of red will catch his eye and make him turn to examine the source. His eyes widen! He recognizes the inspiration for that outfit, and simply must comment on it!
So, Kimblee, have him coming up to you and looking quite affable!]]
I must say, I find your choice of costume quite marvelous! The Red Death from Le Fantôme de l'Opéra, if I'm not mistaken? It warms my heart to meet a fellow connoisseur of the arts!

Kimblee, is that you?
[Hope you don't mind Isaac, right the fuck out of nowhere. He's dressed nicely as well
fuck figuring out what he's wearing, in a much less grandiose, dark blue outfit. The mask isn't anything to write home about either, but at least it looks like Hughes managed to force Isaac to shave and mess with his hair a bit! Isaac's hair isn't down entirely, but it's pulled back and secured (only once) at the base of his neck. He should still be recognizable!]no subject
Well, well, Isaac - haven't you cleaned up nicely.
[The comment is teasing, but it isn't cruel - it's sidling closer to a compliment than anything, really.]
Enjoying the evening, I assume?

So now she's found herself standing on the side of the dancefloor, sipping at a glass of wine as she watches the couples on the floor. It makes her smile; there are so many lovely dresses and costumes! If only she got to do this more often.]]

However, she's alone now, and he's wearing something
so accidentally meta it hurtsthat greatly increases his chances of not being recognized, what with the clothing posing a stark difference to his usual attire and the full-face mask concealing even more than he always does. So! Naturally, this means trolling rights are now in full effect; operating under both said trolling rights and a general sense of "Well, why the hell not", he sees no reason to not approach her.
Don't worry, Emmy, that deep bow from the waist is very gentlemanly, as is the hand being offered to you.]
Might I have the honor...?
[He's well aware that his voice is rather distinctive; it's fortunate, then, that he's rather accustomed to altering that as well. The mask assists with that, somewhat, but he's also biting his usual accent back hard, and pitching down a few shades as well. The result is something deep and soft, but generally neutral and overall generic; not easily placed or remembered, really, especially not as belonging to him.]

[...Well, actually Hughes just kept suggesting it, but same thing, right? Anyway, Isaac is actually dressed nicely for once
don't expect a description because the mun is lazy, he's even clean-shaven and his hair is tied back loosely. It's not much of a change, but it's enough to get him to be even more awkward than usual.][He hasn't spent much time actually dancing, if only because he doesn't know how to dance, but it's been a nice evening anyway. He's used to being on the sidelines and watching, he certainly doesn't mind doing it again. Everyone seems to be having fun.]
[It's as he's surveying the dancers that he happens to notice a young woman standing apart from the crowd. She's tiny - of course this is the first thing he notices - and looks quite gorgeous. Instead of just awkwardly staring, he'll actually approach!
Oh look, Hughes must have taught him something!]Nice night, huh?
