Spring Cleaning: the beast wakes;
Who: Suicune (
legendarybeasts), Rocket operatives and bystanders in the area
Where: Route 7
When: May 8th, 8:30PM
Summary: Rockets capture Suicune.
Rating: PG-13
Log:
[It runs. The wind carries it, fog is its mantle, and the ground weeps dew at its passing. It has known only endless sleep for so long, and now, it has awakened to the scream of the grass and the clouds, knowing in its heart that the world's Order is not being kept. The Old One sleeps too, too deep, not watching, and then they all fell after it.
But then it heard whispers, up in its cold mountain hideaway where pure crystal water flows in trickling, shimmering rivulets. The water whispered to it, wake up wake up, I am hurt, and it did. Its brothers sleep still, their consciousness tickling at the back of its mind like a reassurance. It does not know what awaits, only that it must run, and seek, and destroy.]

[Archer's response is calm, though the smirk is rather obvious.]
[Hey, Gorthan, this is just like our first ride in a helicopter! Do you remember? Except this is involving a lot less shrieking for Kimblee to sit his ass down and not fall out of the damn helicopter. We're improving!]

Archer.
I simply did not imagine that there were far greater rewards to reap from our work than terror and fear. This shall prove interesting.
no subject
Really, Gorthan? There are always greater rewards. To be honest, I had my suspicions from the moment we first heard about all this. Simple attacks like this wouldn't do us any good. The attack on the train had a larger goal in mind - this wouldn't compare, now would it?

Then you are far more imaginative than I am. But I suppose that that, too, should be expected.
[He's soon back to looking out the helicopter window.]
I have taken part in the summoning of an ancient being... Truly, "there are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio"... and so on.
[Surely Archer has heard that quote before. Or not. Gorthan is mostly talking to himself now, anyway.]
no subject
You shouldn't underestimate me, Gorthan.
[It's simple chiding rather than actual anger.]
Indeed. I'm interested in seeing just what this Pokémon is capable of.
[The quote just went right over his head there. Sorry, there's no Shakespeare in Amestris!]

Had I known, I would have trained my Team more intensively in preparation for this. That is my only regret. Then again, perhaps I should have been prepared from the start regardless, as I am sure that you and your esteemed partner are. As I was commenting to Descole a few nights ago, readiness is all...
[Oh, don't worry. By the time either Archer or Gorthan have to leave Johto, Archer will know his Shakespeare all right. >:| ]

[Oh yes, they're quite prepared. Granted, Kimblee and Archer kind of have the most horrific training system, but you know. Level grinding totally works here.]

There are Gyms to defeat if you don't have lab work keeping you at base... But Violet City is not far from Goldenrod. I suppose I should look into getting my first Badge there.
You are very right, Archer. And I do admire you and your partner for being such formidable trainers.
[While he sounds - and actually is - sincere, he knows that a general buttering up of the Rockets he normally talks to won't hurt.
... You know, just in case they are the ones who spread those rumors about his loyalty.]
no subject
[...Don't answer that, everyone hates his face.]
I suppose that's true. Still, you could at least defeat the Gym Leader in Goldenrod. The easiest two are in Violet and Azalea, but there's no reason to start there if you're powerful enough to take down Whitney.
[He nods at the compliment though, looking quite pleased with that.]
We've been working quite hard. The results have been worth the effort, of course.
no subject
... Gorthan likes everyone.]
You think that could work? Thank you for telling me, then. Out of curiosity, how many badges have you and your partner collected so far?
[Once again, he's looking out the window and shaking his head while wearing an odd smile.]
I truly did not expect this development. And yet what I feel is... anticipation. Excitement.

We both have five.
[Archer would mention the change in battle music but... Well, it would be more fun to experience that first-hand, wouldn't it?]
Of course, Gorthan. This sounds fun.
