Summary: Utau has actually managed to drag Ren out to catch/train Pokémon. Ren isn't too thrilled. Though this also opens him an opportunity to ask about Utau's feelings on being a Team Rocket Grunt...

[Jinguji Ren wasn't someone who said 'no' to a lady who was asking him out, especially if he was interested in said lady. Actually, he had been pleasantly surprised at Utau asking him to go out with her so of course he would say yes.

Because of that he was standing in some bush on Route 35, watching as Utau was training. The plans was that Ren would also train and maybe even catch some new Pokémon.

If only he had known what they would be doing. If only. Then again he would have still had problems saying no, because he wanted to spend time with her.

Really, why did he have to bother with something like this?]

Is this all we're going to do today?

[Utau wasn't someone who usually even asked someone out, if the person wasn't Ikuto. She almost felt guilty for asking another guy out, really... But since the other idol wasn't going to like most of this at all, there was no reason to feel guilty for this.

And if she had told him about this plan, she wouldn't have let him refuse anyway.

Her Vulpix threw another Fire Spin and Utau glanced at Ren over her shoulder.]

What are you going to do if my answer to that question is a 'yes'?

[Ren hasn't even called out his Pokémon just yet, as he's been lucky enough to avoid random wild Pokémon... so he's mostly been observing Utau this whole time.

Really, he could just watch her all day, but he knew he should have been doing that as well. He just wasn't motivated. At all.]

Suffer. [A simple, plain answer at first.] Or try to persuade you to come eat with me instead.

[Sigh. What's she going to do with you?] I'm not here to showoff my team, you know. [Yes, she was training them, but that was completely normal for her here.] Not that I care if you get eaten by wild pokemon, just because you didn't train your team at all.

And I'll eat later, but work comes first, so forget about persuading.

It's not like I haven't trained at all. [His starter is at level sixty, even if Ren hasn't left Goldenrod. That's saying a lot on how much the Zebstrika actually keeps pushing him out.] I'll survive.

[Though since standing around isn't really something he wants to do either, he moves a bit in the grass. It's the end of his luck, as there's a Growlithe staring intensely at him now. Ren sighs.]

Fine. I guess I'll fight, then. [He sends out a Swablu.] Use Fury Attack.

[Well, true. If he hadn't been training at all, he'd still have that level 15 Blitzle.] Is it because the pokemon keeps pushing you? [Because he's made it clear that he isn't interested in training.

PFFFFT, dog. Well, it seems to motivate him to actually do something, so maybe it's a good thing.

And she'll be just ...Staring at the bird in surprise. Funny how its cloud-like wings remind Utau of her angelic side and angelic Shuro Chara, El.]

[Though it's only one of the Pokémon that does that, luckily. All of the others enjoy battling as well, but at least they didn't (sometimes literally) kick his ass whenever he didn't do anything.

He'll leave other commenting for later as he's trying to focus on the battle in front of him. The Swablu is actually doing pretty well against the Growlithe as they're around the same level.]

[And the little bird starts singing to make the Growlithe sleep. After that Ren tosses a Pokéball at the dog.

Get a Magikarp and raise it into a Gyarados with extreme speed - not the move, just the pace - and you might have one of those too. Or kick it, that should help too.

It's not very good anyway with its double weakness to electric type. [And nothing wrong with electric types, except maybe their weakness to ground types...]

True, but that better than late never attitude may not take you far in that place. [In Team Rocket, that is.

I've heard they're still pretty powerful. [Weaknesses won't matter if they're strong enough or something like that.

He doesn't comment on the 'take you far in Team Rocket' thing because they'd talk about it later if a good time comes.

Depends on the situation and items and all the other stuff. [Shrug. She does have a Gyarados, so she's not completely against them even if that thing is completely against her at the moment.]
