[Jinguji Ren wasn't someone who said 'no' to a lady who was asking him out, especially if he was interested in said lady. Actually, he had been pleasantly surprised at Utau asking him to go out with her so of course he would say yes.

Because of that he was standing in some bush on Route 35, watching as Utau was training. The plans was that Ren would also train and maybe even catch some new Pokémon.

If only he had known what they would be doing. If only. Then again he would have still had problems saying no, because he wanted to spend time with her.

Really, why did he have to bother with something like this?]
