[Dave is minding his own business that is avoiding where tradition demands he mack on people. Screw tradition. It could kiss the south side of a north bound mule.

He's sliding along with that casual step to make it not entirely obvious he's being avoidant when he bumps into Karkat with a curse.]

[ Karkat huffs, the momentum from the unexpected bump causing the Joltik in his hands to startle.

[Instead of a sorry Dave peers around him and blinks. For one there's Joltik and two well that's the devil plant.] What the hell are you doing?

[ Static is an adorable Joltik. no one can deny this. not even as he spurts some web on you there, Dave. it's how he says hi. look at how happy the little guy is, chittering and all shivery. ]

What does it look like I am doing? I am removing this plant then ensuring its evil does not consume us all by salting and burning it. That is the ritual, right?

[ shrugs. Karkat's next stage is to try and find the equivalent of sage in this world and go from room to room. ]
