[Sibling fights are the best/worst thing he's had happen yet. Because, while Dirk loves the competition- having someone to compete with, specifically, even though wrestling like this more Jake's thing.

On the other hand, it results in things like snow down his shirt.

This time, he doesn't pause to try and get it out of his shirt, despite how cold it is. Instead, he does his best to get Dave pinned.]

[This is the first fight Dave's ever had that is nearly on equal ground. He kind of has no idea how to react to that so he just rolls with it. Literally. While Dirk is trying to pin him down, he's just seeking to roll them and maybe if the chance comes up kick out to knock the other Strider loose.

If he does get pinned (your choice) he's going to raise an eyebrow.]

[At takes a while, and he almost loses a couple of times, but eventually he does get Dave pinned.]

If I say no are you going to put that elbow against my throat like we're hardcore motherfuckers? You already kicked my ass, the fight was over the moment I was down and out. Let me up already I'm feeling cold in places that have no right to be getting frosty. [He could in theory get free. There are several ways but the fight had been to see what Dirk knew. And to engage him when it was just them.]

No, but I might take advantage of all this snow around here to rub your face in it.

[But Dave's not struggling more, so instead Dirk moves off of him, stepping back and brushing snow off his coat.]

[He sits up the moment Dirk's stepped back and adjusts his coat so the snow can fall out of the back. What's left of it that is.] I have no idea why people are crazy about this stuff. Ugh.

[Nevermind that he you know basically exploited it to get his shots in.]

[Dirk looks around and shrugs.]

Because they are less receptive to freezing and therefore are insane. Who knows. We'll just have to get used to it.

Maybe they're secretly polar bears waiting for us to turn our backs and nah that as going into stupid territory. [He brushes snow off his back and starts climbing to his feet.] At least there won't be anymore blizzards like our brief foray into giant monoliths fuck us all over.

They're unlikely to happen. Doesn't mean they won't. You might just bring causality down on all of us, there. [That said, though, Dirk's heading toward the building. He wants to be somewhere warm now.]

No see, if it was inevitable that means nothing we said or did caused it. Judging by how fast it happened and how they wrecked shit then they left, they had some other idea in mind. [He walks after his brother with the same idea in mind. Fun’s over. Warmth is now. Nicki zips over the snow towards him and winds up his body to sit on his shoulder sort of like a parrot. To her it’s been a GREAT day and they should totally do it again.]

[Fortunately or unfortunately, Dirk doesn't yet have any pokemon that enjoy the snow, so they won't be dragging him back out into it any time soon.] I meant another monster storm, not necessarily the attempt at an apocalypse that came with it.

It applies to both. Though weird shit like that isn’t uncommon. You missed the Yamasks slapping their masks on people and possessing them. Apparently they used to be people.

[It made him stop thinking this place was as harmless as it seemed to be. Events like that could happen without warning.]

I got warnings like that when I first showed up, yeah. What'd they do with the people they possessed?

My sister was a little boy who didn't remember the thing under his bed got him but was terrified of it and wanted big bro to save him. [There's a flat tone to his voice. The whole ordeal freaked him out and he really doesn't want to give away how freaked out he was over it.]

[Dirk goes silent for a moment there. He's not a big brother himself, not really, but he can see where that would hit close to home.]

How'd that end. Did the masks get taken off?

[It hit a bit too close to home yeah. It was also the final death of Dave's ability to sleep more than an hour and then fifteen minutes in a hot shower.]

Yeah they did. Rose has the subject on we do not speak of it ever. Tend to agree. Randomly during one summer supposedly if you looked into the back of a Shedninja they sucked people's souls out. Doesn't usually happen but it did then.

[They can just revel in their insomnia together.]

Noted, don't talk about the Yamasks. Is it just the ghost pokemon that do shit like this?

[It can be a family trait since Rose has late nights too.]

I have no idea. I really hope that’s it but I’m not dumb enough to say yeah it’s just the spooks.

Yeah. But if it's a documented phenomenon with them, it's something to keep an eye on.

And it's being watched like a hawk, bro. Just because I'm saying yeah no idea doesn't mean I'm not on the clock walking my beat. We could ask John, I mean he LOVES ghosts. Any chance to yack on about them for him is like a second Christmas.

Yeah, it seems to only come up around holidays anyway. And you sometimes wake up with a week passing, remembering weird shit with some extra pokemon in your belt. [And some weird aversion to LOMBRE. What the fucccck.]

Now the question is, what were those slabs of rock?? I hit them with my best and they just absorbed it like it was nothing. I'm assuming some legendary something but damn.

Who even knows, other than that they were something under the broad definition of Pokemon.
