Thank God It's... Valentines? Just party like it's a Friday!
Who: Other Father (
otherfathering) and YOU! Anyone and everyone are welcome.
Where: the Other House backgarden, on the outskirts of Goldenrod and Route 34
When: Valentines Day Evening
Summary: In an attempt to keep people from needing to use their own lights, as well as having fun and letting his garden shine as it should, Father's hosting a garden party!
Rating: E? how do ratings work?
Log:
It was no secret that the Other Father loved to garden, and more as such loved his garden. If he wasn't working with music or children or working in general, he was usually to be found in the garden, planting some new seed, harvesting some strange berry, or pretty-ing up the place with lights and ornaments. With the complexity of the garden, one wrong placement could have made it cluttered; Other Father's placements made it look wonderful. Just like the Otherworld, the family garden was indeed a fantastic garden.
The family garden always glowed, but it struggled as it tried its hardest to grow over the neighboring lights of Goldenrod, never quite looking as beautiful as it should. Father was sure the garden was sad, just as he was that it couldn't fill its potential... and then the blackout was announced. The blackout in which most Goldenrod facilities and homes would turn off their lights and leave the skies dark, to dim their lights for a loving mating season of two marvelous Pokémon. And it gave him an idea. The blackout was optional, so if he were to host an open garden party, then those who attended wouldn't need to use their own lights! Let the garden glow, stop a couple of houses glowing! In his mind, it was a good deed that could work.
And so the garden had been set; the multi-coloured lights shone around the plants and berries and plastic bird-Pokémon, they draped over the branches of the living centerpiece that was the tree, its treehouse that the children had built sat alongside the net of tiny bulbs; they continued onwards and illuminated the performance area, draped over the speaker and around the microphone stand, the area that placed beside the BBQ (luckily not let lit) that still had no idea who would be its cook. Father and his little helpers had made sure the garden was perfect, just like his family and their home.
Tonight would be magical if all went well, and he sincerely hoped it would help the cause of love; there was never quite enough of that, especially on Valentines day.
((ooc; welcome to the party log! The log will be divided into sections as most group logs are. Post under the sections and generally party- or if your character is doing something special, just post a new section.
Have fun, and Happy Valentines!))

She's also actually dressed up in a dress, courtesy Kanaya. Luckily for Kanaya there aren't any ruins nearby, or the dress might suffer.
Do you approach? ]
no subject
Which isn't to say she isn't a bit uneasy - she was excited on finding the house and honestly a bit thrilled by necessity on quietly slipping into an unfamiliar place (or as quietly as she's likely to have with five Pokémon with her), but now that she's inside, she's nervous. Part of that is because this does appear to be the beginnings of a rather nice party, and instead of simply coming in, seeing something, and going home to her friends, she's going to have to stay and mind herself and everything around her, at least for a little while, to satisfy her points of curiosity.
She's a bit relieved when one of the other people here is someone who she's seen and spoken pleasantly with before.]
Aradia!
[After the call, she can't help but poking and pointing out the girl to Katya the Skitty - she hopes Aradia will be pleased to see how the kitten that hatched out of the egg she sold her is doing!]
no subject
Clemetine! I didn't know you were going to be here; are you friends with Father, too? [ She dropped the "Other" simply because she never had a Father to start with.
And when Clementine gets closer, Aradia does give Katya an appraising look; she gets a smile, too. ] Hello, there. That's the Skitty you bought, right? She looks like she's doing well! Has she been keeping you busy?
[ Young Pokémon are, after all, somewhat time-consuming - in a good way, but. ]
no subject
She's been good... I have eight Pokémon now, though. So they all mean I should be busy training.
I always wanted a kitten, though! [Looking back at Katya and giving her a scratch above the nose.] I didn't know they could use electrical attacks!
[Her expression goes neutrally curious when she looks back at Aradia.] Are you one of his "kids"?
no subject
Her father was an electric type, actually! Normal types...well, they can learn a lot of other type moves, as near as I can tell. Jake has a fire-breathing sentret, you know? Well, furret, now. I think that makes them pretty versatile, when it comes to battling.
[ Aradia offers a smile-shrug. She's...not sure. ] Well, that's how he refers to most of my friends - John and Rose have known him for a long time, apparently. I only met him in person today, though. And human mothers and fathers aren't a concept I'm excessively familiar with! I only ever had a lusus, and she died a long time ago.

[ But this gets a curious look, because that means just one thing. ] You've met one of the others, then? Which one?

We've been friends for, oh, sweeps. Nepeta, too, although she... [ Went home. ]

[A happy, if reserved, voice from nearby revealed the tall, thin former troll, a rather pleased expression on her face as she approached the shorter girl.]
You wore it!
[It wasn't that she was surprised Aradia wore the outfit she had made, but Kanaya couldn't help but be thrilled when someone did. And it looked rather good too, although the moment Kanaya was close enough she waving a hand in the air.]
Turn around, turn around, let me see it...
no subject
[ Oh, turn around. Setting her glass of water down, Aradia obliged by spinning slowly, being somewhat familiar with this sort of request from the Christmas party, where she'd gotten the same treatment after putting on the sweater Kanaya had made. ]
no subject
I will have to adjust the skirt a tad, perhaps slightly shorter, but otherwise...it seems to suit you.
no subject
Are you having fun so far?
no subject
[The former rainbow drinker shrugs.]
I suppose so. I have to admit, I mostly came to see what this Other Father was like...
no subject
[ At the mention of Other Father Aradia looks curious. ] Have you spoken to him much?
no subject
...We only spoke once, but the things he talked about...
[Kanaya was not pleased.]
no subject
...The things he talked about? [ Aradia's...unaware. ]

She rushes towards Aradia with ARMSSS WIDE OPEEEEENNNN. ]
Aradiaaaa!! How are you?
no subject
Momo! I'm fine! I heard about the trouble earlier today, though. Were you caught up in that, or...?
no subject
I didn't get too roughed up to skip out on my friends going here, but I was roughed up a little bit. I was in the department store when the attack happened. I was buying perfume for tonight, so it wouldn't make sense to skip the occasion if I went through all of that trouble just to prepare for it! [ She does have a couple of ridiculously sized bandages on underneath her heavy kimono, and that's exactly how it'll remain. ] Anyone else you know that had to deal with those pokémon?
no subject
I'm glad you're okay, then! And...yes! Rose Lalonde and John Egbert? From what I understand, they recognized a few of the pokemon used in the attacks, so... [ They felt obligated to help out. ]
no subject
Now that I think about it, the pokémon did look familiar. I think they were kidnapped by someone a couple of months earlier... [ She can recall seeing them in Team Rocket cages, but she doesn't want to exactly implicate herself in a party. With lots of people. ]
no subject
Not all Team Rocket members are great at not implicating themselves, sadly. ]
So presumably he was also the cause of the attacks. He's starting to be a bit of a menace.
no subject
I agree. He's heartless and his constant acts of terror should be interfered and stopped!
no subject
Hm. The problem there is that no one can die here, apparently, and I'm not sure how one would enforce law-abiding upon someone who doesn't seem to fear the consequences this world already offers. Although one would think that a pretty much confirmed member of that organization would face some consequences.
