[Now this was straight up bizarre. He'd been willing to accept the situation before— it was often he dreamt of being just another lost figure in a crowd. The animals had been new additions (and as much as he was loathe to admit, the Turk appearance had not been).

The stranger does have a point though, being lost alone is not always the most prudent course, so perhaps working together may have some benefits.

Pretty sure that's because it's yours. Everybody gets one when they show up.

(Dante throws his hands up.)

I know, I know...they look like they're for kids and whatever, but they can actually grow to be pretty badass...like this guy over here.

(He knocks on the shoulder of the Scizor beside him. That sound? That's straight up metal, bro.)

[When the man turned, he hadn't expected to see his own face, different but close enough that it couldn't really be anyone else. How unnerving. All he did was straighten though, examining him.]

I get the sense that was directed at me and not the current location.

It was entirely impolite to do so, but he couldn't bring himself to look away. Here was a near-mirror image of him, from decades prior. The slant of the eyes, the straight mouth, proud hitch of the shoulders.

And yet, utterly different.

At that age, the world had not yet weighed his shoulders down enough, weariness was not written in every breath and motion. Such promise.]

[ Kakashi looks over to the creature next to Dante, sizing it up. It seems like a relatively powerful summon, as far as he can tell. Nothing at all like the cute little blob of fur sitting by his foot. Though, there's nothing wrong with little balls of fur, Kakashi's very much used to them, having trained his ninken from the time they were little puppies till they were full grown.

Pakkun's still tiny though, but that's mostly because he's just a pug. ]

Saa, I really prefer to fight my own battles. These little guys might be strong in their own way, but...

[ Kakashi trails off as he looks down at the little guy looking up at him with big bright eyes going, "Chu! Chu!"

He bends down and picks it up. ]

It just doesn't seem right.

[ It's one thing to fight with summons, and another to fight using them. At least, that's the way Kakashi sees it. ]

It's cool; I prefer fighting my own fights, too. Thing is you're kinda without your powers and shit on regular occasions, so you kinda have to let them do the fighting.

(Dante shakes his head.)

But this isn't just another weekend. I dunno what the hell it is, but something's up.

[Kanaya opens her mouth to object, but after a moment she stops. Instead she fishes out her gear and finds John's last video post, then just holds it out for the troll to see.]

... that is to say, Sonata's roar unfortunately did not affect the Spearrows... rather it ended up distracting Makoto who stumbles at hearing the illegal idol and is now curling in a defensive position from the birds' pecking alongside her partner who has given up on running and decides to just play dead instead... ]

[Tron sounds familiar, all he can remember is a chick with the Vulcan haircut and a lot of black. He gives all she said a couple seconds of thought]

Well, seeing that I have my girl on my arm [gives her a fond grin] and not in space, I'll go with "sucked into the game." I don't want to meet the alien race that can change ships into people. [Yeah, that's terrifying. No thanks]

Kakashi gives a slight nod of the head. He doesn't tell Dante that he doesn't need powers in order to fight, because that just seems a little unnecessary and self-aggrandizing. ]

In the previous world I was in, we had a few incidences when a freak occurrence brought a huge influx of visitors for a few days. It was really a temporary thing, because they'd be gone just as quickly. It's possible that this is a similar situation.

[ Kakashi shrugs a little. ]

I arrived with this influx of people, so I'm not sure if I'm here to stay for good or if this is just temporary.

[ Either way, he's glad he's fully powered. And maybe a little amused by his new furry companion. ]

How do you fight with these Pokemon anyway? I take it there's training involved?

I was reserving my opinions until I had a better awareness of the situation.

[In other words, yes, he found it utterly bizarre and didn't really know how to feel about it on a personal level, but he wasn't going to just come out and say as much.]

Hulkling? No, I know the Hulk, but haven't run into a Teddy or Hulkling. [now he has questions, but reminds himself that he doesn't want to know his future]

[All the commotion catches her attention and she looks over with a frown at all the noise. Some kid was making a spectacle of himself, it sounds like. She had better take care of it before he attracts some unwanted attention and is in some real danger.

As soon as she rounds a corner and sees what's going on, she freezes with a stunned expression.]

Naru--? [Meanwhile, the Growlithe at her side notices the change and starts barking loudly and growling because of its trainers shock. The sound forces her back into reality and she scowls down at it in disapproval, making her pokemon stop.]

Hey, don't bark at people like that, Menma! You'll scare someone and it's just a boy.

[That smarmy attitude is extremely peculiar for someone who is just as lost as he is. But, to each his own. This one seemed to have confidence enough to walk anywhere unimpeded.]

Perhaps. [A beat, as he observes this guy carefully.] I apologize, I have not introduced myself; you can call me Vincent.

[All she can remember is someone getting sucked into a video game.]

[And oh, he's smiling at her again. Is he flirting? The Enterprise can't tell, it's difficult when she's like this.]

It would be difficult to escape if they were that powerful. I haven't seen any of the crew since arrival but there are others from various worlds here.

Since I'm here with my stuff, my guess is it's temporary for me. Gotta wonder what's up with some of these places if this isn't the only world sucking people in, you know?

Pretty much, yeah. You teach 'em to fight and then they fight each other. People around here prefer letting them fight instead of doing it themselves. Pretty sure they're not as okay with people duking it out as they are with Pokemon doing it, otherwise this place would be a free-for-all.
