It's the world of Pokemon...which is a video game so I'm not exactly sure how we got here or how to get out.

[Billy's already tried using his powers.]

( damn, he doesn't know squat about pokemon. but video games, on the other hand... )

What if we win? Winning always ends the game. Maybe this whatever-it-is will let us go if we do.

This is one of those games where you have to battle with these things to collect all the badges.

[Motions to the flying squirrel on his shoulder.]

( scott stares at the squirrel on billy's shoulder, and then twists to look at the giant-sized ant behind him. okay. okay, he can do this. it can't be that hard, right? they'll collect all the badges, get the heck out of here, and he can go back to closeting himself in his room and not having to deal with the craziness that's the future foundation. )

Doesn't sound too bad. How many badges are there?

[It'll be a long journey and a bit awkward if they travel as a team. Maybe things would get better if they spent more time together though. Billy shifts his weight to one foot.]
