It's the morning after, when I shine.
Who: Tony Stark (
arrogantalloy ), Carol Danvers (
tookthename ), Steve Rogers (
starspangledavenger ), Hope Estheim (
eagletalons )
Where: Olivine City
When:July 15 (forward dated)
Summary: Tony felt the need to celebrate Hopes one year anniversary in this world.
Rating: G -PG
Tony was staying in an okay hotel room until he could find himself enough money for a permanent home to rarely stay in while traveling. And right now it was housing a few other people, namely Steve, Carol, and Hope. One of which was probably doing a lot less well with his hangover than Tony was. Who himself looked like he normally does.
Tony is a very old hate at drinking.
Ignoring everyone else and their varying states of consciousness, Tony just made a bee line to the coffee. Because as sober as he looked, Tony partied harder than he had over the last few years, and felt the need for some stronger than normal coffee so he could get back to poking around the inner workings of Hope's Boomerangs.

"You just said you'd make me something, it's fine," thinks that will make it better. Too bad he's not thinking about the culture differences at the moment.
no subject
Nope.
Nope.
Even worse. Those things were usually store-bought but custom or handmade ones by artisans were... something else. His parents had theirs custom, he remembers.
Which is why he buries his face in his hands again, to make sure no one sees how red he is in utter shame.
"I am so, so sorry for the thoughtless remark."

Tony drains his coffee and goes back for another, starting on it without so much as adding sugar or milk.
"And I'm still not hearing any word on the boomerangs location."
Tony has gotten a little bored of all this hang over talk, and he is seriously itching to get back to doing what he does best, and that's working with electronics and he doesn't really have all that much interest in hangover proposals because of this. Which isn't to say he won't bring it up later at a better time. But he just really wants to get his hand on some otherworldly tech.
"Also, you're picking up those peanuts."
no subject
"Five second rule on the peanuts. They're still good to eat. Now, whats this about a boomerang?"
She takes a large gulp of coffee, completely forgetting that she won't just absorb the heat, and burns her mouth. Quickly swallowing she glares down at the mug.
no subject
And really, it's not like they fell in shit. The things the Commandos did.
His attention settles on Carol and her glaring at her mug. "Yeah, that took some time to get used for me as well," it was more that he healed so fast it didn't bother him before, not now.

They don't. Which may just be a blessing and Hope should just stop fighting it. He should chalk it up to a difference in culture (because Earth people are still strange), and be done with this line of conversation.
So he does, scrubbing his hands across his face. Too bad someone else is bothering him right now, and for an entirely different thing.
"You are not going to touch my highly sensitive, non-Earth technology without my supervision," he says with a pointed look at Tony, despite the image possibly ruined by his face looking like the Unseen World had warmed over.
no subject
"He's got a boomerang, but not out of wood, but some metal, and various diodes, I guess. Either way, it's something I want to check out."
He rolls his eyes a little at the do not pass go he's given, as well as the pointed look.
"I haven't been supervised since I was... Okay I've never been supervised in my life, unless we're counting professors, but they're supervising everyone so I'm not going to count that. Believe me, I've made 7 armoured flying suits with no supervision. And they, are about 20 years ahead of what anyone else in my world could manage to make. Believe me, I'll be fine, and I know that hair always grows back."
no subject
"That sounds really interesting. If you ever do decide to let him look at it, Hope, I wouldn't mind sitting in."
no subject
Steve listens and shakes his head at Tony's protests. "Tony, as far as your expertise is concerned, this is alien technology, maybe you should have the expert with you to make sure you don't kill yourself or anyone else. Work together, I know you know how, I saw you and Bruce," he sips some coffee. He really means it when he says he doesn't want things blowing up. "And suits or not, a world that developed differently than ours is bound to have entirely different technological advances, so you're a greenhorn when it comes to Hope's technology."
Besides, if Pep ends up hurt, he can only imagine Grace's reaction. The Lucario might act like she dislikes Pep, but Steve has an feeling it's more of a crush.

"You are someone from Earth, while I am someone from Gran Pulse-- while we're both human, even genetics is different between us." Gestures to his hair. He's seen a handful of people with white hair around here, but they are most definitely not from Earth. "I'm not about to let you unsupervised around what's mine."
He hopes his tone is enough to convey a big NO, but just in case, he takes out his PokéGear to send a quick text message to one of his extras, an explicit message to the Pokémon on the other end not to let Tony into his room or near his things without Hope willingly tagging along.

"What hair Obi had left was white. So, really even for us that's normal in a way." He then gestures to Steve. "And fun you bring up Bruce, what with that technology we were working on together was, in fact, alien technology, and I don't remember anyone supervising us on that."
He puts his mug down and runs a hand through his hair.
"And can I just point out to everyone that I've never worked with anything dangerous that could have blown up on me, when others were around. Not that it even matters because I haven't even caused a dangerous explosion since my first year of M.I.T. anything after that was, you know a controlled reaction. I'm not even going to be re arranging anything or touching the flow of energy.
. You have to know how it's all connect to do that. Give me some credit."yetPep herself simply watches the conversation. She knows he barely listens to her urging her, and gets the feeling that he's not going to give up on this, but she hopes he can be at least stalled.

"Honestly Tony's the only person I've met here so far that isn't from your world who might actually be qualified to look at it." Carol tells Hope. "He's good with tech, and the Tony I knew was really good with delicate tech."
no subject
Steve then takes a drink of his coffee, listening to Carol's comments. There's no telling how similar or dissimilar they are from each other. To be honest, he'd hope for similar. "To be honest, I can't vouch for Tony one way or another. We haven't known each other long." And it's true. he knows what he's seen and experienced, but there's a lot that he hasn't even had the chance to. Maybe one day, but for now, he can't actually say from personal experience if Tony is okay to play with Hope's things.

"I do not know what this spear is-- I'm honestly sure I wouldn't be able to understand. But this? AMP is a technology that can simulate magic and propel airships and gunships. It every single law of physics there is, possibly even the ones on other worlds. Engineer or not, you're not from my world and I cant let you handle unstable principles and technology on your own.
In fact, there are people from my world, but they don't even know what exactly it is. So no."
And to drive his point home, he curls up, pulling his legs up and resting his feet on the seat of his chair and placing his mug on his bent knees. He refuses to talk about this anymore.

"And as a kid who's built his own firecrackers. I know there's a big difference between working with what you know and what you've been given. Especially considering that, Loki took Selvig, one of the few people on earth actually studying the tesseract to make him a better portal to bring his precious army, that he was also obviously given by the way. Proves my point."
Tony puts down his cup and immediately fidgets with his hands, as he tends to when trying to explain concepts to others. Hope's refusal to be apart of the conversation is currently not the issue, it's the fact that Tony now only hears Steve saying that he had no idea what he was doing.
"You might have seen that cube, seen how it works. But I had dad's notes on it, as well as my own readings from working with the spear. Believe me, at that point in time without Selvig on board, Bruce and I were equally the most qualified to deal with the shiny space weapons. Sure, we didn't realise it's antagonistic properties till you and the others showed up. But want to know something Rogers?"
Tony straightens up, clearly starting to gear towards a fight.
"We were next to that thing for hours without the slightest harsh word, before you. And everyone else, crashed our party."
no subject
"Whatever happened back in your home worlds doesn't really matter here. This isn't worth fighting over."
no subject
But Carol stepping in helps, because Steve was ready to go for the fight, but he doesn't want to upset Carol or drag Hope into this dysfunctional sorta friendship he has with Tony. Either way, he's worked up and he needs to remove himself from Tony before the man utters something and ruins Carol's efforts.
"Carol is right. I have some training to do, shouldn't have put it off this long," he gets up, giving Hope and Carol a smile and a nod, while Tony only gets a nod, and makes a quick exit. He really doesn't need to know what retort Tony might throw at him or Carol, he just knows leaving is best right now.
