[ There were a few things that Tsunade thought wouldn't really happen in Route. Back to back with Sakura, her student, in another world fighting dinosaurs of all types were one of them. But, today, it got worse. Their stronger, evolved variants (or perhaps their mothers and fathers, Tsunade knew little about the growth cycle of pokémon, let alone ancient pokémon) were coming.

Immediately, she notices an Aerodactyl diving towards them. Well, that was a new pokémon. ]

Tsuchi! Water Tail! [ Her Gligar rushes towards Aerodactyl before turning its tail into a thick, watery pitchfork before slamming into the fossilized bird. It starts to nosedive down as Tsuchi returns to floating in mid-air. ] So I guess we gotta worry about aerial attacks too.

That should be no problem for my Joltik!

[ Sakura's confidence shines brightly in battle as she points towards the offending beast to instruct the tiny bug. Following a water attack with an electric one seems like a great strategy to Sakura, but relying on a bug only a few inches big is demeaning no matter how you look at it.

Still, she knows what it's like to be tiny and unappreciated. Most of her youth, she had to stand in the shadows of everyone else who was bigger and bolder than herself. If it wasn't for the elderly presence nearby, she might have never discovered how to utilize her own strengths to become a typhoon herself. ]

Ah--too bright! [ Holding up her arm to shield herself from the Thunder attack, she's not exactly able to see how successful it might have been. ]

[ She has not seen a Joltik before Sakura's but she knows by the name that it must have a powerful ability. She learned carefully from when Tonton nearly scorched her face off and even as a bitty girl she still possessed enough physical strength to make Jiraiya shit his pants.

The Gligar continues to float triumphantly as the Aerodactyl remains clonked out on the ground. Tsunade smiles. ]

Ah, I've neglected the fact that he's immune to electricity all along. [ You know what this means, Sakura. They have a combo B) ]

[ With a nervous laugh, Sakura doesn't admit right away that she was unsure if that would work or not. Confidence is everything, even if she disproves it now. ]

Incredible, wasn't it? We should use these two together more often.

[ The Joltik without a name scurries around in a circle on the ground in his victory, eager for more. The bug's had blood and craves it. ]

From the sky too? This is going to be lot more trouble than I thought.

I have some more ground types if you wanna get a load of them! I need to add an electric one soon, however. [ She smiles and nods with Sakura's direction. ]

Kaze! Dig underneath the ground and leave shallow impressions that will allow for rain water to collect itself to fight off those that will travel here across water. Tsuchi, Temari, you two are on air control. Be on the look out for electric attacks, Temari. Tonton, use your nose to detect incoming ones.

[ Tsunade notices the dance. What an eager and terrifying thing... ]

Where do you get one of those? I like it's swag. [ did tsunade date herself yet???? She says the word like it's foreign. ]

[ Wait, Sakura's heard that word recently, hasn't she? That's a compliment so naturally she holds up her fingers in a confident manner. ]

Yeah, that's right. My Joltik's got swag!

[ Meanwhile, he's just stopping in wait for his own orders. Boss me around, trainer senpai. ]

And so obedient too but with a little flair! You actually found yourself a miniature you! [ A more diabolical one but Tsunade's locking this one away in Lifetime Achievements. Too bad Tonton's starting to bark that Omastars, Kabutops are coming in from the distance, accompanied by flying Aerodactyl's. Oop. ]

[ Yay praise! The Joltik Who Needs No Name shows his excitement with a little shrill bug-like noise that may sound vaguely like his name before skittering off towards Tonton. ]

More?

[ Figures. If they're lucky, they'll consider them enough of a challenge to swarm. ]

My team isn't as versatile, but I'll help out. If needed, I can use the one Sasuke loaned me.

That might be a good idea. I relocated outside the town so they wouldn't arrest me later. [ She knows what's up with this land. ] We can fight fully and confidently here! As you might have noticed, I made a shallow pool with later, so we can take it from there! Sandshrew, Earth Power! [ The Earth cracks and buckles as the Kabuto and Omanytes get picked off. ] We're going somewhere!

Sheesh, save some of them for me!

[ Enthusiastic as a young blood should be, Sakura frees a couple more of her Pokemon to jump into the fray. Having a team primarily of support Pokemon, the most she can offer is her Audino and Happiny. Both are eager to fight and they take off after their own together. ]

If we can draw them into the water, we can finish a number of them off at least. Getting them there is the main problem--how do you suggest we do that?

Hmm... they'll do. I suggest having them use support attacks to gain their attention, like follow me or something. [ It's worth a shot. ]

Otherwise I might have to use Staravia and my Tentacool to blow and current them into the pool. See if your Joltik can use thunders to hoard them and force them into the water.

Sounds as though it'd make for a solid plan.

[ There's a bit of admiration to be had for Tsunade's leadership skills. Not only that, but her experience as a tactician left her with the eagerness to share in her knowledge.

So much to learn from her, not nearly enough time. Moments like these attribute to the process and in them, she gains more and more insight into her way of handling things.

Really, she's a true genius. ]

You heard her, get to it. [ Instructing her Pokemon to play bait, all she can do is wait for results. ]

All right! Temari, Tsuchi stay close behind to pull the bait up in case they're injured. Kaze, maintain an underground network in case you need to closely rescue them. Also, Temari, work with Mizu to maintain currents of sorts.

[ The pokémon spring into action, with Tsunade holding onto her side and keeping her eye out for any stragglers. ] if you see any get past the bait, let me know so I can toss 'em back in. [ #ridiculous. ]

You mean you plan to toss them back in with your hands?

[ Yes, that's exactly what she means. Don't question her ever, Sakura. ] R-Right, well I'll help out if they do!

[ Punching the palm of her hand for emphasis. ]

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. [ Don't question her ever, Sakura. ] I have my hands and I'm still a strong woman. [ She sees an Omanyte struggling to get by and starts taking off after it. ] Sakura! In case these ones with tentacles cling, I want you to punch it off of me!

[punches]

[ "That is the most metal thing I've ever heard in my life." ]

You got it! [ Just a little eager there to punch, isn't she? ]

Just do your best to not get wrapped up in this. We've got other things to take care of after!

The only thing this is getting wrapped up in is an defeat sandwich wrap! [ At first I was hesitant about writing this, but then I realized it matches canon in quality!

Tsunade scoops up the Omanyte and flips her way towards Sakura, keeping her arm flying out to the side for Sakura to knock it - real good - into the makeshift lake! ]

[ NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE DUB LINES. ]

Defeat sandw--[ Oshit, flying Pokemon. She doesn't have time to react with her fist since her hands are currently held out to the side in her confusion, but those legs of her's are still working.

That poor Omanyte is now an Omnibyte I don't know, I'm no good at this 4Kids thing and comes with an order of free dipping sauce!!

Splash. ] Huzzah!

Great! [ A chip of rock from Omanyte's shell goes flying off towards Tsunade, who catches it and tosses it back at a jumping Kabuto. Oop. ]

Hehe. We got it now, Sakura! This is in the bag! [ yet another dumb dub line. ]
