Now here I stand, oh in the morning sunshine, dreaming only of the promised land...
Who: Ramza Lugria (
throw_stone) and Walter (
beholdmydemons).
Where: Cherrygrove Inn!
When: The morning of 27/8.
Summary: Ramza and Walter meet, there is discussion afoot.
Rating: Um. Nothing bad should be happening, but I can edit if it does.
Log:
[It was just another day at the Inn - it was easy for Ramza. Work here in the mornings, the PokeShop in the evening, make a tidy amount of PokeDollars.
Did everything in this world have a connection to that word? Pokemon? It still rung odd to the young Beoulve - why would they do that, of all things? But, it was another day - another chance to continue learning to live as these people do every day. To fit in as any normal person would.
Wait, was that...]
...Walter?
[He looked to be coming this way, and... wow. He looked tired, for sure. Ah - no. He should... stay behind the reception desk. There's no need for him to rush out and escort him in, is there?]

- holy shit okay automatic sliding doors are going to be the death of him via heart attack someday. He jolts and hurries through them, eying them strangely. The first thing Walter notices when he takes his eyes off the doors is - damn, this place is fancy. (It isn't, really, but to his eye the modern construction speaks of wealth.) The second is that the person behind the counter is the face he's been keeping an eye open for. He grins a little.]
Hoy. Didn't keep you waiting, did I?
[Two days, hell yes.]
no subject
Not for long - have you rested well on the road?
...You did not try the berries, did you?
[Luckily, Ramza didn't. Because, well, his Hoothoot stopped him, and Ramza took meaning from that...
If you think the lobby is fancy, Walter, wait until you see the rooms. They change the blankets every day, if you ask! Well, Ramza does that, but it is still amazing - it's done for everybody.]
no subject
Would it trouble you if I took my leave to rest now, and we spoke after? I'm like to fall over before too long. [There's a faintly wry, joking tone in Walter's voice, but it's no lie that he sounds tired.] Er...just how much does it cost to stay here?
no subject
[ramza why are u such a cutie
He's stepped from behind the desk, and offers out a hand.]
no subject
That's kind of you. I'll not decline. [Said like "I'd be an idiot to do so". He hitches his backpack up on his shoulder, looks back up, laughs, and shakes his head briefly.] 'Twas a jest. I'll stay awake on the way. [So go ahead and lead the way.]
no subject
But Ramza is a serious young boy, and so he just nods.]
Follow me.
[And so he started to make his way towards his room - staying quiet on the way, even if his eyes are still looking around the building. Luckily, his room is actually quite close to the check-in desk - but, still.
This land is amazing - even the construction of this place, the potted plants nearby, how nice everything was... Ramza had the slightest of smiles, as he pushed against the door, opening his own room up for Walter.]
I'm not to leave my job for a few more hours - but I hope you rest well, Walter.
no subject
Rest indeed. [Hot. Damn. He goes to set his bag down against the wall and shuck his coat.] I appreciate it. I'll see you hence, Ramza.
no subject
...That is, until a few hours later, when his shift ended, and he returned to his room. Not to knowingly disturb his new travel partner, mind you. No, he had his two eggs to check on - as well as make sure his two Pokemon were fed before training. It's not like Walter would awake to the loud Hoothoot screeching as she ate, would he?]
no subject
The animal noises have him waking with a start and a grunt of alarm, hand flying to his hip and flailing around at the covers when it doesn't meet the hilt of a sword. He sits up straight, cursing groggily and looking around as focused as he can while half-awake for the source of the noise.]

[Ramza notes the awakening - and suddenly grips the Pokeball... and the Pokemon vanishes into a bright red light. A moment of pause - Ramza still didn't quite get it. But it's some sort of magick... yes. That's what he'll think of it as. Less head breaking.
As it vanishes, though - Ramza turns, giving a bit of a frown. That darn bird... he places a hand to his hip, and gives a shake of the head.]
She's a loud one.
no subject
After nothing explodes during those seconds, he mumbles something and sags forward, rubbing his face.]
You don't...say. [He trails off into a yawn, rolling his shoulders.
no subject
Should I leave you for longer? You seemed to be resting well...
[If it wasn't for the bird, he would have just changed outfits and gone to work at the PokeShop!]
no subject
[...He's not really fall-over-tired anymore, but the urge to just flop back down is really strong. What's this bed made of?]
no subject
'Tis near the middle of the day - around noon.
[A bit of a look to Walter.]
If you were at the akademy, you'd be scolded for being in bed at this time.
[ivalice stop spelling things weird. Ramza is an early waker - it's the way he was trained.]
no subject
He swings his legs over the side of the bed and stands up, stretching.] That's...enough lying about for now, I think. I've an egg to retrieve from something called the "Pokemon Center".
no subject
Did you also employ the service of the Breeding Center?
[Or did you buy a second egg, like him? His two eggs, right now, are nested nicely in a... makeshift nest, Sevrin having gone back to sleep by them.
Ramza, though, then just... stands, again, giving his body a little stretch.]
I can take you there.

[He wonders, for a moment, if Walters' land has Chocobo... he should ask on the way down to the center.] They do - though I hold the only key. [He only got one key, honestly - he could have gotten another, but... he didn't expect a guest, to be honest.] Your pack shall not be stolen.
[And Ramza approaches the door, opening it - giving his Stunfisk a look. If anybody tries to break in, they will have a pancake fish to deal with.]
no subject
-let's get going] I was told it'd be there as I arrived. Let's, uh, not dawdle, then. [rushes out the door all nonchalantly-like]
no subject
But, he does close the door and lock it.]
The road was not too harsh, then?
[He asks, as he starts to walk towards... leaving the building. He'll trust you're keeping up - for one, you seem older then him - taller, at least.]

I did. Hoy - Samuel. [He casually opens a Pokeball from his belt, and the Rattata materializes to walk beside him with a yawn and a grumpy chitter. Clearly, Walter wasn't the only one who'd been resting.]
no subject
A rat, then? Perhaps I shouldn't let Hildegard out again - though I've not seen these creatures eat each other, I'd imagine they'd do it quite often.
[Ah... there's the Pokemon Center. As he gets a little closer, out comes the Hoothoot - flapping around before landing right on Ramzas' head.]
On the other hand - would they really try and eat each other in a place like this, so close to humans?
no subject
[Pokemon Cent-
-sliding doors.
...at least awkward grabbing is marginally more graceful than actually jumping away from the things.]
