[Things that are probably not helping Eruka's sense of safety: the two Mightyena now laughing at her. Free seems joyfully oblivious to all of this, however.]

Marlon! Let's go!

[Not giving much warning, Free grabs Eruka and plonks her right down on Marlon's back. And just like that... The enormous fire dog is shooting off. Hope you're holding on tight, Eruka. Don't worry! Free is running close right behind.]

What do you think we should do first when we get to town? I mean, technically our contract with those guys is up since the Kishin is gone, we can just go live a regular life, right?

[A pause as something suddenly occurs to him.]

What? Are you going to tell me that your animals have the same sense of direction you do?

[Maybe. Marlon seems to know where he's going, at least, so there's that.]

Just- I've been in prison for centuries, and then there was everything with Medusa and the Kishin... I can't remember what you do for a normal life.

Well, he is her friend, and he's protected her all this time, it's not like she hates him even if she acts like it and even if he's a total idiot with no common sense.]

You're always talking about going out and watching movies in theaters, right? Now you can do that whenever you want. We could do it together if you wanted. Then there's shopping and eating out at restaurants, meeting people and talking to them...maybe causing a little discreet trouble, since we can do whatever we want now.

[And the funny thing is, he hadn't even meant for sympathy pangs to happen. It'd just been a simple question to him, like asking where the bathroom was when you were in a strange house. The answer definitely makes him light up, however.]

We could go to an arcade! And have burgers! Do you think they have any good amusement parks?

[Childish thinking, maybe, but that shit is fun and Free hasn't gotten to experience it for 800 years. He is going to do all the things.]
