Summary: The Eve's Garden Circus is officially open for business! When it comes to a circus, what better group to put the 'grand' in 'Grand Opening'?

It's that time everyone's been waiting for! Time to put that nasty train robbery behind everyone. After all, haven't you heard?
Throughout the streets of Goldenrod, folks will find all sorts of colorful characters and Pokemon about. Fliers and the like have been regular this last month or so, but the advertising is in full force today just to make it EXTRA apparent that today is the day. Another hint is all the air traffic in the skies- various Flying-type Pokemon that make up the Circus' transportation service. Who knows? Maybe you're one of those using it today!
And of course, who can miss the colorful spectacle that is the circus itself? Past the entrance gate (which will let you onto the circus grounds for a miniscule fee) are dozens and dozens of stalls and little tents. Looming over them is the main tent itself, a monstrosity of bright welcoming colors. There are all sorts of things amongst their ranks, but it's generally fairly easy to find what you're looking for as Pidgey of a feather flock together and all that... From games of all sorts like the usual carnival games to more of a retro arcade, to a set of shops with local crafts and maybe something from the foreign trainers.... Of course, there's also all sorts of food stalls and even shacks for more filling stuff.
With all that alone, you could probably keep busy for most of the day! But surely you aren't forgetting the Big Act?
Yep, the big acts in the Big Top. Times are posted both at the front gate, on fliers you can pick up here and there, and by the entrance to the large tent. For each day, there will be three shows! Better hope you can snag a ticket before they get sold out... Although maybe you'll get lucky for the next show. Or the next day....
Either way, it promises to be a fun few days!

"Alchemy doesn't work here, so I suspect whatever tricks you have to play don't either. All I'm looking for are answers." Really, he has no desire to attack. Soiling this second chance by gaining a reputation for violence so quickly would be foolish.

It almost comes out as an indignant huff, and Envy leans back against Chimera's side, arms still crossed. A moment later though, there's a smirk on his face. He might be at a disadvantage physically, but if Scar wants something from him there's no reason not to act like he has the upper hand here.
"What kind of answers? Do you want to know where the less rigged games are, so you can win another toy for your bear?"
Yes he does know very well that Scar isn't talking about those kind of answers.

"I have reason to believe that your group has powerful influence over the Amestrian state. At the very least, inside information." That much had been obvious to Scar even before his conversation with Greed. Lust had known that the soldiers had been explicitly ordered to not move in.
The discrepancies are starting to line up almost too perfectly.
"I was your fodder for the Stone in Lior, similar to the Elric boy in Laboratory 5." Lust's not-so-subtle involvement at those critical moments convinces him of that, though he's not about to bring her up.
"Then was my death also orchestrated?" His voice remains quiet, but dangerous, and he doesn't break eye contact with Envy. In retrospect, none of this is a really a surprise. But it's all leading up to something far bigger than Lior.

If Scar's not breaking eye contact, Envy isn't either. If he's intimidated, he's not showing it.
"And I wasn't in Lior. I don't know all the details. But I doubt you were going to be allowed to live."

"But why kill me?" His eyes narrow, studying the sin closely. Keeping secrets doesn't objectively matter, in this world. Scar is banking on that right now. He isn't surprised to find himself almost apathetic that his death had been arranged from the beginning. Hadn't part of him known, since leaving that camp, that the journey for the Stone would likely kill him? But that had been his choice. Not the choice of some band of freaks, no matter how much they could claim to control.
"I wasn't aware of your group's involvement until you outed yourselves to me." IE, he could still be useful.

As far as Envy's concerned...of course he would, anyone would. Who would go to the trouble of creating the Philosopher's Stone unless they needed it desperately? He shrugs, keeping his face in a casual smirk, as though they were discussing the weather. He can see that Scar's watching him closely, and even if it doesn't matter he's never liked letting on any more than exactly what he wants to.
"If you want more, though...you're going to have to give me something in return. I'm no alchemist, but it's a handy rule for anyone."

"I have nothing of interest that I could possibly give you." That, as far as he knows, is the truth.

He's gone into the Gate, everything for the homunculi in Amestris is just about finished. This information isn't valuable to him anymore, so he's willing to share it...but if it's valuable to Scar? There's no reason he can't get some sort of favor out of it.
Spoilers: if he ever called it in, it would probably be something stupid.
"Depends on just how much you want these answers. There isn't a single other person here who could tell you what you probably want to know."

But there are some things Scar just has to know.
"You make a habit of causing wars for the Stone, don't you?" He pointedly doesn't respond to Envy's statement and just keeps plowing on with the questions.

"Hang on. Do we have a deal or not?"
A thought occurs to him, a small frown crossing his face as he adds, "And part of the deal is that you can't punch me for what I tell you."

"Deal" A lie. But it's one Scar will easily tell right now. He's fairly certain he's already put the truth together on his head, but he's not going to jump to such a major conclusion.

He shrugs. He knows that these are just the sort of things that make people really angry to hear, especially when he's nonchalant about them. But right now, nonchalant really is the best way to keep attention away from them. Just talking about the weather over here!

Funny. The tension started mounting only briefly after the transmutation. Once again, it all makes too much sense.
"You did it for the Stone."

He doesn't look away from Scar for even a moment. He still doesn't completely trust him not to attack, hearing this.

A familiar rage is building up, one that he hasn't felt since arriving here. He can feel his hands, now balled into fists, quiver.
"Humans are just pawns to be thrown away to you, then."

"They used to be, yes. I didn't care at all."

"Is that some sorry attempt at an apology? Because I'm sick of hearing from people like you how horrible it was." And he isn't interested in hearing it from on of its perpetrators, either.
Does this all mean that she also had a hand in this...? He doesn't even want to think about that.

"Please, if I was going to apologize I would say so. You asked a question, and I answered it. I don't think of humans as worthless pawns anymore."
His stare is almost challenging. No, there's not any apologies from this guy today.
"Besides, I was barely involved in that one. I was occupied with something else at the time. You can go look for an apology from Pride, if you want one. Or you can keep asking questions."

"Or, you could tell me who Pride is. I was tailed by others, but never Pride." That's still a question, Scar.

Envy has never liked Pride, and that disdain is very clear in his voice and expression.
"You'd recognize him if you saw him, but not by that name. He would've been King Bradley to you."
He watches Scar closely, to see how he takes that particular bit of news.

"Now I understand." That rage is still bubbling in his chest, threatening to spill over. There isn't a point, anymore, to get angry about it, but Scar has never been rational. He is, at least, smart enough to not take it out on this homunculus here and now.
"Which one are you, then?"

Not that he's surprised it took so long. Aside from all the questions and realizations, he doubts that Scar would think of him as a person and not a convenient answer-providing monster. The normal people of their world wouldn't, much less someone who has plenty of reason to hate him.

"And you were taken here just as the others were?" The homunculi don't have anything to do with all of this, do they? Scar can't even begin to imagine why they would, but he can't just dismiss the idea with how expansive he knows their network to be.

"Well yeah, how else would I get here? I didn't come here on purpose, if that's what you're asking. Nobody does."
He's just as much at the mercy of this world as anyone, as far as coming and going. He stretches with his arms up over his head, overacting. But he still only closes one eye while he does it.
"Are you finished? I'm starting to get bored standing around. And I'm going to miss all the shows."
