We goin' 'til they kick us out, out
Who: Envy, Lust, Greed, France, and Scar
Where: Goldenrod
When: June 24th
Summary: So three homunculi, a country, and a serial killer walk into a bar...
Rating: PG-13?
Log:
When Lust had asked to go out and have a drink (now that having a drink will actually do anything), of course Envy said yes let's go find a bar right now. Drinking, he's found, can be a spectacularly fun thing to do when you're human. And after all the shit she went through back home, Envy thinks Lust deserves some fun.
Fortunately, Goldenrod is not a city lacking in bars, and they've found one near the hotel that doesn't look half bad. Or too expensive. It's even good weather for the walk there. And with France and Greed both agreeing to come along…
It should be a good night.

There are other ways to appeal to a man's sympathies beyond the one she's named for. And she really doesn't want any trouble. She can't say she particularly regrets her part in the whole mess, but she doesn't bear the man any ill will.
She just wants a nice life in this strange, silly place.

He's certainly not about to start trouble and he has no interest in making things difficult for his fellow homunculi either. He's starting to enjoy his life here, anyway.
Still, there has to be something. Something more tangible at the very least. His conversation with the man had gone very well, and he hadn't immediately called Greed out on being a homunculus either. But he can't think of anything because Greed is terrible at planning ahead.
..and because he's drunk and fairly quick to form attachments, even with people he really shouldn't, "Wouldn't let him do anything to either of you!" Because when Greed's guard is down, he's apparently a big softie.

Envy's not entirely sure if he's going to cause trouble or not. There's not really a reason to, and he's already played around tricking the guy once. Even that time, he was mainly doing it to piss off that bastard Roy Mustang. And now he does have Lust to think about. It's one thing to get someone after himself, but she'd been involved in that murder too and she might get lumped in with him. So maybe he shouldn't.
He sighs heavily and takes another drink. He doesn't like being responsible, and being here has made that kind of thing so much harder to ignore. But when Greed comments on not letting Hughes do anything, his head whips up in surprise.
...Being drunk makes it a lot harder to keep control of his reactions when people say things like that to him okay. But he's going to try, belatedly. So he snorts and elbows Greed in the arm, "Yeah, and what'd you do that we couldn't?"

"My hero." She lifts her glass to Greed. She'll just do what she can to avoid the soldier. And hope he's from the other world, and listens to reason. Her version of reason, anyhow.
"Really, between all of you, I shouldn't be worried." Her broad gesture indicates Scar, as well, in her inebriated state. No matter what else, she knows he would protect her if she were threatened. And she takes Greed at his word. Envy she knows will protect her, and she believes his companion would as well.
"He wouldn't get close." Another snort of laughter. "'Feel like a storybook princess."

Not that it matters, exactly. Well, maybe. Greed doesn't trust the soldier from Amestris if he had gotten himself involved in homunculi business. He might come across as cheerful and friendly, but that would change immediately if he ever figured out what Greed is. Which would be almost immediately since it's not like Greed bothers to hide the ouroboros on his hand.
"We won't let him get close, yeah?"
Even if people can't actually die here, Greed is sick and tired of people he's close to dying. Too many people died because of him already. He's not about to let Lust be another one. Envy, too.

Envy sounds as confident as can be about that. He doesn't think he needs any protecting, but he'll do what he can to protect Lust...and probably Greed too, honestly. He's had practice now and, like Greed, he's not letting them get hurt again because of him. At Lust's comment about being a princess, he laughs.
"If you're a storybook princess, what does that make us? Are we noble knights?"
And then he just keeps laughing, because the idea of any of them (except for probably France) being noble or knightly is that ridiculous.

No, the soldier man isn't anything to worry about. What's he going to do? As Envy said, nothing.
It's nice to feel protected and cared for.

But then, he remembers something else. He relaxes a bit to offset the sudden thought in his head. "Envy," and for how serious he suddenly feels his voice is as casual as ever, though he suddenly sounds a bit more sober. "Why do you have a Yamask?"
Yes, this has been bothering him since May. "Thought you of all people..."

Yes, happy is a good word for it. It's...nice just talking like this with the two of them, with no underlying worries about masters or missions or betrayal.
He looks up when Greed says his name, head tilted. And then...oh. He didn't know Greed knew about Edmund. He's pretty sure not even Lust knows about Edmund, he'd warned the little Pokemon to lay low for a little while, that she'd probably react about as well as he had at first. When Greed continues on after the question, though, that makes him frown defensively. Partly because he knows very well what it probably looks like.
"Me of all people what? He wanted to stay with me, he practically pulled a Pokeball out of my bag and caught himself."

Lust understands there's more to this conversation than she can gather, but she hasn't the faintest idea what. The mood shifted the moment Greed asked the question, and Lust looks from one to the other, tipsily perplexed. What does it matter what Pokemon Envy has?
They've been having such a nice time, the three of them. Laughing and talking like any three...friends. Or whatever they are.
"What's wrong?"

...Telling Lust, though. Greed wouldn't have known himself had he not been told so soon after arriving about Yamasks and ghost-types in general. "He did?" He didn't even know that was possible, but maybe it shouldn't surprise him. "That's..."
It's not like he could really be angry at Envy. "Couple of your Pokemon were bullying him a while back. Should have said something sooner, but it's awkward. ...that and talking about this too much will ruin the night."
