A menagerie of the tragedy that I've caused
Who: Solf J Kimblee (
explosivecombat), Frank Archer (
sadisticwarfare), and anyone in the Ecruteak area who wants to engage them – OPEN LOG, don't forget to do the thing and tag yourself in!
Where: Ecruteak City
When: Forward-dated; morning of November 14, 2014
Summary: They've declared war.
Rating: PG-13 or thereabouts. ...Look, if this goes badly, it's basically going to be MICHAEL BAY PRESENTS: THE LOG.
Log:
It's a lovely day out.
While the last attack had been delayed by too much snow to be pleasant, it seems that the weather is with him today; the sun has been out and the temperatures high for the season, and overall, he finds that he can't complain.
The bombs have been set. The residents of Ecruteak have "forgotten." And unlike the hotel room he was holed up in last time, the room he's in is very, very dark.
It's not to say that there's no light; the device in his hand is offering a light ambient glow from the numbers adorning its face. There are a few of them; he allows his fingers to trail over them idly while he waits. Exactly what he's waiting for is a little difficult to say; perhaps it's just a matter of dramatic timing.
Some of those numbers are pressed down after a while, codes of some sort. He pauses for a moment; catches his breath.
Clicks the red switch at the top.
Hopefully no one was particularly close to the museum, as that explosion is going to be a nice one. Not enough to take the building down, mind you, but more than enough to take out a good portion of it. (Sorry about the lawns on those houses nearby, by the way; they're going to be looking a little rough after the fact.)
He closes his eyes once it's done, a light smile crossing his features underneath the hooded mask; it's been a while since he's done this, but the sound is just as beautiful to him as it always is.
Let's begin.
[OOC: Notes on how to play are here! If you have any questions, feel free to throw a comment on that post and I'll get to it ASAP.
Right now, the goal is to pick a location within the city - and literally any of the major landmarks are fair game - put it in your top-level, and we'll lead you from there!]
[OOC PART II: Here's your progress tracker, guys.
Bomb 1 - museum: DETONATED
Bomb 2 - location currently unknown: STILL ACTIVE
Bomb 3 - location currently unknown: STILL ACTIVE
Bomb 4 - pokémon center: NEUTRALIZED
Bomb 5 - location currently unknown: STILL ACTIVE
Bomb 6 - outdoor soundstage: DETONATED
Bomb 7 - bell tower: STILL ACTIVE
Bomb 8 - location currently unknown: STILL ACTIVE
You've got your work cut out for you, Hero Squad. Godspeed. :|b ]

Everything is perfectly fine with the bomb, it's not doing anything weird!
...Though that's not the case for all the bombs, apparently. Because one of them just went off.]

O-Okay guys...we need to get rid of this thing! I have a plan!
[Grabbing two more Pokeballs off her belt, Emmy throws caution to the wind; she really didn't want to have to reveal more of her team than just Jean, but...well, desperate times, and all that.
The two Pokemon she's released are her Frogadier and her Helioptile - the former looks grim, the latter, nervous.]
This is what we're going to do; Metang, I want you to send that bomb up nice and high, where an explosion won't do any damage! Frogadier, you're going to use Water Pulse on it! I'm hoping that the force of the attack will make it go off, but if it doesn't, that's where you come in, Helioptile! Since the water would have soaked the bomb, it'll be nice and susceptable to a good Thundershock!
So let's give it a go!
[Stage 1 of Emmy's Cunning Plan now begins - Jean sends that bomb up to a point where Fiona will be able to get it with Water Pulse, but an explosion shouldn't hurt anyone. How will that Water Pulse go?]

Shrapnel? What...? Oh, no, you're right!
[Picarats: 50/50 -> 45/50]
Okay, um...new plan, new plan...! Jean, keep it up there for now! We've got to...!
[...
...wait a minute...if she can't fire it off up there...!]
Ah! The pond! There's a pond near the entrance of the Bell Tower! We'll dunk it in the water! That should absorb the blast!
[So we're now dashing off towards that pond, with that bomb still high up in the air. Is Team Bomb Squad able to get to that pond without any trouble?]

Quickly making their way to the pond, Team Bomb Squad stops by the edge, peering into the water with the bomb still floating ominously over their heads.]
...I really hope this is going to work.
[Welp, here's Fiona again - she's at the water's edge, and she's frantically gabbling at it.]
I know, I know! Come and help get the Pokemon out of the water, everyone!
[While the rest of his friends move to pull the frightened Water Pokemon out of the pond, Jean keeps a nervous eye on that bomb. Are the Team going to have any trouble getting those Water Pokemon out of the pond safely?]

Okay Jean...lower it into the water, as deep as you can, and then on my mark...use Confusion. We'll see if that works.
[Here we go! That bomb will now be lowered slowly down to the water, Emmy keeping a protective arm against her new hoard of Pokemon. Will there be any trouble getting it down to the pond bed?]
no subject
...Though uh, you might want to do something about all that shrapnel in the pond...
CONGRATULATIONS, you safely detonated a bomb!]

...]
Did we...?
[......]
...we did it...we did it!
[Another puzzle solved! Screaming happily, Emmy promptly leaps on (poor, overworked, soaked) Jean, hugging him tightly as Fiona leaps into the pond to gather up those pieces of shrapnel.]
We did it, everyone! I'm so proud of all of you!
[THE THING HAS BEEN DONE; is Emmy's role here finished?]
no subject
Yep, your role here is done!]
