[Roman exclaims, immediately kicking his foot a little to jostle the bird off.]
I'm trying to walk, here!
[Meanwhile, the other Torchic is standing just a foot or two away, watching this new one curiously. Those antics are pretty amusing, so she's just going to hop in place a little to show that.]
no subject
[Well look who just came around the corner looking for her wayward pokemon.
Said pokemon which seems none the worse for that jostling even though he didn't quite stick his landing and sorta...fell on his face, oh well. He recovers quickly though, holding himself up with a puff of his feathers and a chirp as if to say he totally meant to do that. ...Totally.
Meanwhile, Yang just looks so happy to see you, Roman. Soooo happyyyyy.]
no subject
Actually, it got in the way of my foot. Where I'm trying to walk.
[Seriously, what do these birds have against progress?
Meanwhile, Roman's Torchick hops over to Yang's, chirping softly as if to ask if he's alright.]
no subject
slight unseatingkick from a shoe to injure him, yep. ...Did he mention how fine he was?]Zhu. Come back over here.
[Yang's words aren't harshly spoken, but that doesn't exactly sound like a gentle request either.
Her Torchic looks up at his name and the tone, seeming a bit scandalized. But he's having fuuuuun. Also he made a friend. Also he found a ride.
There's a pointed glance from Yang at her wayward Pokemon before she returns her gaze to Torchwick as if daring him to touch her partner again.]
no subject
Can't get enough of me so you decide to follow me across worlds, huh?
no subject
[Why is it the first person she recognizes from home ends up being this guy?]
Zhu. Over here now, please.
[That one's definitely an order, even if it's worded nicely. She could just recall her Pokemon but quite frankly she's not really digging the whole pokeball thing.
Zhu, her Torchic, gives her another "But mooooooom" look, before giving Roman's Torchic an apologetic and extremely wibbly look before slowly and dejectedly walking back over to Yang. Truly the most tragic of heroes.]
no subject
It's too late for that.
[He smiles, taking a slow drag from his cig and exhaling the smoke before saying anything else.]
I'm going to assume we can just call a temporary truce as long as we are here, unless the entire populous of Vale suddenly drops from the sky. Not that I'm opposed against fighting you but, ah. There are children present, you know.
[He says, like he cares.]
no subject
Seriously? A truce?
[Actually, given the people here seems to have something against bullets, guns, and fighting with anything other than adorable animals that's probably a smart move. She could still deck Roman a good one without her gauntlets but she's not sure he's worth getting into trouble with the local authorities over. Especially since he's cut off from all his henchmen here.
She crosses her arms.]
Alright. You keep out of trouble here and we won't have a problem.
[That's totally how truces work, right?
From Yang's shoulder, Zhu is still trying to get the attention of Roman's torchic, fluffing his feathers and hopping about his perch. With this "truce" thing, maybe their trainers will let them hang out together?]
no subject
[He says smoothly with a grin that still hasn't left, his cigar held carefully between his fingers. Meanwhile, his poor Torchick is left on the ground to her own devices, watching Zhu sadly. That would be nice, if she could even get her trainer's attention...]
I'm more interested in observing than I am making a scene here, anyway. Seems like others are doing a good enough job of that without me intervening.
no subject
She off-handedly reaches up and paps a hand down onto Zhu's head, half-mistaking his antics for wanting attention from her and half to just make him sit still a moment.]
Yeah, I noticed.
[And she thought she knew how to make a scene.
Speaking of observing, she glances down at the other bird by Torchwick's shoe, before raising an eyebrow at him.]
That one yours?
[You know, assuming it wasn't stolen.]
no subject
I guess? Showed up when I did and hasn't given me a moment's peace since.
[The Torchick hops in place with a sharp peep. Why won't you just cooperate, you're her trainer now do you job, dangit.]
no subject
Sure looks like she thinks you're her trainer.
no subject
[Someone didn't read the manual.
or listen to mom apparently.]
no subject
Speaking of mothers, don't get her started on that woman back at the house. Yang's got two mothers already and that woman was neither of them. She does not need nor want a third.
She rolls her eyes again.]
You know, for somebody who's "just here to observe" you haven't been doing a great job of it.
[Seriously, Torchwick, like ask just about any random citizen. It's like all they talk about is Pokemon training.]
no subject
Alright then, don't tell me. I don't particularly care either way.
no subject
This is purely for the sake of that poor Torchic stuck with you as a trainer, Roman, otherwise you'd be on your own, you big wad.]
It's simple. There're animals in this world called Pokemon. People here keep them as companions, but a lot of them also teach them how to fight. They're the trainers.
[She pauses to allow herself a small smile, scritching a finger under Zhu's chin, the bird making a happy trilling coo at the gesture.]
Zhu is my pokemon, and I'm his trainer.
[Her expression shifts back to mild irritation as she glances back at Torchwick and points at the Torchic standing by his shoe.]
That is your pokemon and you are her trainer.
[At least so far as that Torchic seems to be concerned anyway.]
no subject
The Torchic gives a short nod of agreement, hopping a little closer to his leg. See? You should listen to your friend more.]
And you're just going to accept that? You aren't, I don't know...concerned that we suddenly aren't in Vale anymore?
no subject
Unsurprisingly, that remark does not make her happy.]
Did I say I wasn't concerned?
[Seriously, does this face look unconcerned to you?]
I don't know why I'm suddenly here instead of Vale or what caused it, but I'm going to get answers.
[And to do that she has to play by the rules here. ...For now anyway.]
no subject
Oh, well, be my guest! But you're not going to find out much. None of these people seem to know what to say, that or they're just being vague because they can.
no subject
Maybe you just haven't been asking the right people the right way.
[Not that she's had any sort of luck getting some answers on that subject either, but she's had years of on-going practice at this. She's incredibly confident she'll get them in good time though.]
no subject
no subject
Do you seriously think the same thing wouldn't happen if weird people started showing up suddenly in Vale?
If some stranger ran up to you on the streets back home and asked you questions about where they were, or why we have monsters called Grimm, and why we use Dust to fight them, what kind of answers would you have?
[This is assuming, Roman, that in that hypothetical scenario, you're not the cause of the whole thing.
She smirks a little.]
Go on. Use your imagination and tell me what the average citizen in Vale would answer, hmm?
[She realizes she's asking a lot here: 1) for Roman to actually put himself in someone else's shoes for 5 seconds and 2) assuming he actually has an imagination.]
no subject
Never miiind, I get it.
[And no, if he had something to do with this, he would have made sure he didn't end up on the wrong end of the space time continuum.]
But you have to agree that none of this makes any sense. If this happens a lot, you'd think somebody would've looked into why it's happening by now.
no subject
I'm sure somebody has. Or is. It's just a matter of finding them.
[Or just looking into the problem on one's own. Honestly, that's her dual goal for right now anyway.]
no subject
And that may take a while.
[At least he doesn't have to stay in a hotel because- naturally- he's a Rocket. But still, ugh.]
