Summary: Some idiots decide to test their theory about people gaining EXP. This involves punching each other like the well-adjusted individuals they are. Continued from this stupid thread.
Rating: PG-13, maybe? Naki really loves cussing.

[Well, Naki was going to stay up all night and wait for the hail to die down, but he ended up getting bored of hanging out near the windows upstairs and kind of accidentally fell asleep back in his room. It was definitely an accident, it wasn't like he purposefully went down there to sleep or anything. Anyway, the point is that he doesn't realize it's stopped hailing until he gets up and rushes upstairs to check outside. This is then immediately followed by a text message sent to Greed.]

ASSHOLE U DIDNT TEXT ME

ITS STOPPED HAILING LETS FUCKING GO

MEET ME IN FRONT OF THE DEPARTMENT STORE IN TWENTY MINUTES

[You won't have to wait for Naki, surprisingly. He's actually functioning before noon, so he must have gone to bed early last night. He also looks entirely too wound-up for his own good, so this will probably end stupidly.]

Fuck that, I'm not going out on a route! Outside of town should be fine, and if anyone asks, we're just sparring! No big deal!

[And with that, Naki immediately starts heading south.]

[Greed would protest if he had any common sense about him at all. Unfortunately, he's Greed, and can't think of anything wrong with what Naki is suggesting.]

Sure, okay.

[So obviously he's going to follow Naki. It makes perfect sense to Greed to do it out on one of the routes where no one can see them, but doing it at the entrance to town doesn't seem like a big deal.

Someone please stop these two before someone gets hurt.]

[Naki eventually chooses a spot he likes. It's just outside the gate into town, off to the side so they're not directly in anyone's way. Once he's done surveying the area, he nods to himself.]

This should be fine! Okay, so you fight back home, right? I'm a little rusty since I'm used to fighting differently back in Tokyo, but I'm sure it won't be a problem!

[It's not like he's incapable of fighting without his kagune, after all!]

Alright, so! We're trying to see if we get any experience points or level up or something, since like I said, I evolving's a gradual thing. I think I would've noticed if there was something different about beating up people here verses back home, but I guess I didn't really look for anything odd. You ready?

[Greed's a little more paranoid, a little more on guard than Naki. He's certain that Naki was at least somewhat used to keeping a low profile from what he's been able to gather about the situation he's in in his world... but then again, maybe not.

It's not like Greed was too careful himself, but he's also become slightly more wary of picking fights in Johto where he doesn't have his Shield with him.]

Yeah, I fight. My styles a bit different where I'm from, so this will taking some adjusting, but it shouldn't be a problem.

[It's going to be so much fun. He's missed this.]

I've never asked my Pokemon what leveling up feels like. I guess we'll find out!

Oh yeah, I guess I could ask Squid and Octo about it. Huh. I'll do that when I get back!

[...Squid and Octo are obviously the Malamars, because Naki is great at naming things.]

[And with that, Naki does the usual of bullrushing the fuck out of his target. He might be kind of short, but he hits like a train, and apparently he's decided to aim for Greed's ribs first, so have fun dealing with this crazy asshole.]

[Oh, he won't hold back. Not at all.]

Believe me, I won't!

[And he charges, too, because this is Greed and his first instinct even after spending nearly a year as a human without his Shield is to use himself as a battering ram because he's used to fighting with his sense of pain and anything touch related very muted.

...so of course he's not prepared at all for the much smaller man to ram himself into Greed's chest. Holy shit that hurts more than he was expecting, and he's stunned for about half a second before he tries to land an uppercut.]

[Naki is not only surprisingly fast, he's also more agile than anyone would ever give this man credit for. He manages to avoid the uppercut by dropping to the ground (getting grass stains all over his white suit too, which he'll surely notice later), he then moves to try to kick Greed's legs out from under him, which is probably a dumb move since Greed is built much sturdier than Naki is. At least he seems to be enjoying himself, if that wild grin is any indication.]

[Greed might not have a clue what Naki is when he's not human here, but whatever he is, he's fast as hell and a damn good fighter. Greed's impressed as hell if nothing else.

The kick once again connects, but Greed doesn't fall over. It's going to smart like hell later, but he stumbles back unsteadily, quick to recover his footing.]

Damn, you're good.

[That's not going to stop him from swinging another blow at Naki, this time aimed at his chest.]

Well, of course I am, I'm pretty fucking awes--

[And then that blow connects and Naki reels backwards, trying to regain his footing.]

Shit, fuck--!

[That hurts like hell! He doesn't think anything's broken, but usually the pain stops after a moment. Oh right, he's not a ghoul. He can't regenerate here. This fucking sucks.

...But if you think that's going to keep Naki down for long, you've got another thing coming! Here he comes bullrushing Greed again, this time aiming to tackle him to the ground.]

[Greed can't help but let out a soft ha! of a laugh. It's nothing personal, and it's not an attempt to show off, but he thinks he's pretty fucking amazing right now.

Or at least, he would if he didn't get tackled to the ground almost immediately.]

Shit!

[He'll be trying to wrestle Naki off of him very quickly, then! The last thing he wants is to be punched in the face repeatedly right now. Sure, it won't kill him, but it'll hurt like hell.]

[No way, he's going to keep you pinned if it's the last thing he--

okay actually he's not strong enough to do that, there he goes

and now he's flat on his back in the grass. Great.]

Shit-- Ah, hey!

[Naki sits up and glances down at his right shoulder, where his suit is now sporting a very nice rip from the seams.]

You-- You ripped my suit!!

[Naki, that was your fault.]

[Whoops. He totally doesn't remember doing that.]

...You'd think I would have noticed that.

[He stares at the suit for a long moment. Maybe Greed should have recommended that Naki wear something he didn't mind getting ruined, but honestly Greed didn't even think about that.]

[The only clothes he has that aren't nice suits like this are horrible pajamas. They're awful and he'd never be caught dead in public in those!!]

Well, fuck. Guess I'll have to get a new one.

[He's not sure these grass stains will ever come out... That said, Naki doesn't get up, he just sits in the grass.]

...So, do you feel any different? 'Cause I don't. I mean my ribs kinda hurt. I think it's my ribs? Something hurts.

[What kind of pajamas are those?? Now Greed is going to want to know!]

I don't feel any different, either.

[Well, he's pretty sure his stomach is going to bruise but that doesn't really count.]

...do you think it's really subtle? I mean, one level at a time's probably a subtle change unless a Pokemon learns a move, right?

[Just trust him, they're awful.]

Yeah, I guess that's true. And people obviously don't learn moves, so...

[Naki groans and finally gets to his feet, stretching.]

Well, I guess we'll have to keep testing it out every so often! But for now I'm fucking starving; let's go get cake!

[Naki...]

[This is when someone smarter than Greed would object because they're both a mess and Naki's suit is torn.

Unfortunately, Greed is not a smart man.]

Hell yes, I could go for some breakfast!

[And no one was surprised.]

[Well who cares about any of that when there's cake to be had!?]

C'mon, I know just the place!

[And with that, Naki will lead the way to a surprisingly nice bakery. It serves more than just cake, so at least you aren't stuck only eating that!]

[Ah... who cares. Greed hasn't eaten yet and he's starved, to be honest. Luckily it looks like the place doesn't just have cake, but he has a feeling that Naki might complain if Greed doesn't pick something sweet. Either that or he won't give a shit, either way.]

Yeah? I come here all the time! If I wasn't so opposed, I'd probably work here. But I fucking hate that shit, so...

[Naki shrugs, then moves over to the counter to place his order. That is entirely too much cake for one man, but it looks like Naki's going to eat it all. He picks a table in the back and sits down, tossing his legs up on the chair across from him and jabbing his fork into the first piece of cake. Good lord, that's a lot of cake.]

[...and here's where a monster person being human for a year actually comes in handy.]

[...he says, continuing to shovel cake into his mouth.]

At first it kinda did 'cause I wasn't used to it, but I've gotten over that!

[Greed's own breakfast sandwich looks a little sad compared to all that cake but Greed honestly doesn't have that much of a sweet tooth so he's not really complaining.]

Do you eat anything else?

[For anyone else, it wouldn't be a serious question, but for Naki it absolutely is.]

Nope! Well, okay, after awhile Tsukiyama made sure I was eating something besides cake, so I guess he helped out.

Greed isn't a good cook by any means, but he's going to be making you lunch every once in a while to counter the horrible stomachache Naki must be giving himself every day.]
