8th Act - Happy Anniversary, Eve's Garden Circus!

You know what's better than a regular birthday? The birthday of a circus.

Throughout the streets of Goldenrod, folks will find all sorts of colorful characters and Pokemon about. Fliers and the like have been regular eve since the Circus started up a year ago, but the advertising is in full force today just to make it EXTRA apparent that today is the day. Another hint is all the air traffic in the skies- various Flying-type Pokemon that make up the Circus' transportation service. Who knows? Maybe you're one of those using it today!

And of course, who can miss the colorful spectacle that is the circus itself? Past the entrance gate (which will let you onto the circus grounds for a miniscule fee) are dozens and dozens of stalls and little tents. Looming over them is the main tent itself, a monstrosity of bright welcoming colors. There are all sorts of things amongst their ranks, but it's generally fairly easy to find what you're looking for as Pidgey of a feather flock together and all that... From games of all sorts like the usual carnival games to more of a retro arcade, to a set of shops with local crafts and maybe something from the foreign trainers.... Of course, there's also all sorts of food stalls and even shacks for more filling stuff.

There's even a Litleo hunt going on today! Catch one, win a prize!

With all that alone, you could probably keep busy for most of the day! But surely you aren't forgetting the Big Act?

Yep, the big acts in the Big Top. Times are posted both at the front gate, on fliers you can pick up here and there, and by the entrance to the large tent. For each day, there will be three shows! Better hope you can snag a ticket before they get sold out... Although maybe you'll get lucky for the next show. Or the next day....

Either way, it promises to be a fun weekend!

Snake is mysteriously missing to all but Joker before his act, but afterwards he can be caught drinking some water and laying comfortably off to the side in a pile of pokèmon.

Rise had watched Snake's act and was both impressed and utterly confused. Only three of those Pokémon were actual snakes. One of them was what her own little Dratini, Kairyu, would evolve into one day. It was still rather impressive to watch.

Since she wants to congratulate him, she's off to go find him, Nanako her Meowstic in tow. When she finds him, she approaches him enough not to be in the striking distance of most of the snakes. "Ah! Snake! That show was amazing~!"

It's hard to be close enough to speak to Snake and not be in Quincey's striking distance, but only the two Sevipers turn to look to her. When Snake is alerted to Nanako's presence by his companions he looks up. He then blushes upon hearing the complement.

"Ah, you came, says Gaskell."

Nanako lets the snake type Pokémon know she and her trainer would not be getting closer unless their trainer said so. Rise nods with a big smile. "Of course I did! I told you I would. I keep my promises to my friends~"

Yes, Snake, you are a friend in her book.

Now you're making the shy man blush again.

One of his Sevipers nudges him and hisses gently. He shifts over so there is room next to him leaning against his onix and says, "They won't bite unless I tell them to."

Rise is pleasantly surprised that his Pokémon are letting her get that close. She nods wand walks over, sitting beside him and letting Nanako sit in her lap. "I didn't know there were so many snake-like Pokémon. This big one is an Onix, right? My friend Micchy has one, and apparently she's a sweetheart. He said they were big, but I didn't think this big...." It's intimidating to say the least.

The onix lets out a content roar and wraps her tail a bit more closely around the two. "Big enough that sometimes I don't realize my own strength, says Quincey.

"That's okay! As long as you don't accidentally crush someone, right? I saw in the PokéDex that Onix becomes Steelix, right? I wonder how that happens..." Steelix looked even scarier than Onix. At least this Onix was nice. She liked nice Pokémon. Even if they were something that made her skin crawl. "Did you come up with the choreography, Snake?"

"Yes, it is part of my job, says Quincey. Each of us come up with our own acts, says John." He has actually been planning to get another Onix so he could also have a Steelix. There could be some interesting choreography with the two of them.

"I always had someone else plan my choreography. Now I have to come up with my own. Watching you guys helped me come up with some ideas for my Pokémon." She's got a Dratini. Maybe she can have the do something cool like his snake Pokémon. "Ever think of dressing up in the same color as one of your Pokémon? For a duo?"

There is a moment of silence before Snake looks to her and points out, "I have scales, we match pretty well."

He swallowed, nervous, "But it could be an interesting idea, says Ruskin."

She gives him a small smile. "The scales are cool and all, but clothes matter, too! A nice set of clothes that go along with the theme can make the show even grander." She pets Nanako as she lets that sink in. "I'm making an outfit for my first commercial that will match my Sylveon, Himiko. I'm gonna do that with all of my Pokémon that want to be in my commercials! I think it'll make it more memorable."

Snake considers it. It could be nice to have a matching costume, but then the story behind his dances might not be as well understood. Perhaps if he had the outfit of something his pokèmon might go after? But that would be more of a silly costume, and it may seem to clownish.

The other thing that was a problem, "I can't sew, says Gaskell."

Outfits can be hard. Rise does have to admit that to herself. Goodness knows how many times she was asked to wear an outfit that clashed so badly it hurt.

"I got taught in school. Never thought I'd have to sew my own things. I can teach you some basics!"

"That sounds good, says Ruskin."

She claps her hands together and nods. "Alright! So when I come back from Kanto, we can meet up. I'll make sure to bring some easy patterns."

"We look forward to that, says Gaskell." A red light appears from his belt, bringing out a seventh pokèmon. Snake looks surprised and quickly takes back the ekans, looking around to see if anyone else might have noticed he has more pokèmon than he is supposed to be carrying at once.

"... Can I have a pretty outfit too? says Letitia, says Quincey." Apparently the feebas that just let itself out of its pokèball wants to be fancy too.

She would jump if Nanako weren't in her lap. She's confused for a moment as to what she's looking at. She smiles and nods, patting Letitia on the head. "Of course you can. What colors do you like?"

"Pink and purple, say Letitia, says Quincey." Snake pets Letitia gently.

"That'd be so cute... I'll make you something while I travel, and I can have either Fukuro or Ahiru fly it to you!" Probably not Ahiru. She's got a bad temper at times.

"Thank you! says Letitia, says Quincey." The shiny feebas bounces a bit, excited.

"Though... I've seen a Feebas. You're a lot cuter than the plain colored ones. You're a shiny?"

Snake shrugs. He's never seen another feebas, so he doesn't know the difference. "We got him mysteriously on Christmas, says Zola."

She gets out her Gear and shows Snake on the Dex. It's much duller looking in the greyish brown. "This is what they're supposed to look like... and I've heard that before. A few of my friends mentioned something about getting shiny Pokemon on Christmas."

Snake is a bit surprised at this, but pets Letitia gently. "You're special without being shiny, says Zola."
