8th Act - Happy Anniversary, Eve's Garden Circus!

You know what's better than a regular birthday? The birthday of a circus.

Throughout the streets of Goldenrod, folks will find all sorts of colorful characters and Pokemon about. Fliers and the like have been regular eve since the Circus started up a year ago, but the advertising is in full force today just to make it EXTRA apparent that today is the day. Another hint is all the air traffic in the skies- various Flying-type Pokemon that make up the Circus' transportation service. Who knows? Maybe you're one of those using it today!

And of course, who can miss the colorful spectacle that is the circus itself? Past the entrance gate (which will let you onto the circus grounds for a miniscule fee) are dozens and dozens of stalls and little tents. Looming over them is the main tent itself, a monstrosity of bright welcoming colors. There are all sorts of things amongst their ranks, but it's generally fairly easy to find what you're looking for as Pidgey of a feather flock together and all that... From games of all sorts like the usual carnival games to more of a retro arcade, to a set of shops with local crafts and maybe something from the foreign trainers.... Of course, there's also all sorts of food stalls and even shacks for more filling stuff.

There's even a Litleo hunt going on today! Catch one, win a prize!

With all that alone, you could probably keep busy for most of the day! But surely you aren't forgetting the Big Act?

Yep, the big acts in the Big Top. Times are posted both at the front gate, on fliers you can pick up here and there, and by the entrance to the large tent. For each day, there will be three shows! Better hope you can snag a ticket before they get sold out... Although maybe you'll get lucky for the next show. Or the next day....

Either way, it promises to be a fun weekend!

He takes the money from her, moving to put it in a separate pocket in his bag so he'll remember to save it for later. It's technically money belonging to the bugs, after all, which they'll likely want to spend on more yarn. "I'm glad she likes them. Most of the things they make are small right now, so they're better suited for Pokemon anyway."

Shiruku does scarves- very janky ones- while the spiders love to make their socks and other little things, though they might be a little bit better at it due to rigorous practice.

Nanako tugs at Rise's skirt again. She sighs and kneels down, helping her Pokémon put on the socks. Nanako now looks very happy and bounces around in her new socks. Rise giggles and nods when she looks back at Chihiro.

"I think I'll buy a few more pairs. My other Pokémon might love them, too." She then gasps and stands up, opening her bag. "I have someone for you to meet, Chihiro-kun!" She gently pulls out a small, silver Eevee who appeared to be sleeping. "This is Jin. He... was left with me when his trainer left."

Chihiro can't help but gasp when he sees Jin, leaning forward to get a better look. "Oh! Oh wow...I've only seen one other shiny Eevee before," he whispers, so as not to wake Jin.

Rise very gently pets Jin, which makes the Eevee curl up even more into a ball. "He's still sad, but otherwise he's really sweet. I had someone explain to me he was a shiny, and another guy kept asking me weird questions about Jin. Oh, and my Umbreon and Sylveon, too." Yes, she suddenly has another Eeveelution along with the original. "I never got to tell you, but Himiko is a Sylveon now. The Umbreon is from another friend who left. Her name is Chiisai. Nanako told me she's sad, but that's not going to stop her from being a good battler."

Rise can't help but gush about them. She loves all of her Pokémon dearly, so she can't help it.

"Mm...I can understand that. When my friend Garry-san left, I found quite a few of his Pokemon left for me...I've been taking care of them, but they still miss him quite a lot. I'm glad to hear your Pokemon are doing well, though. You will have to say hi to Himiko for me...maybe one day she can meet my Sylveon, Suisen," He says, folding his hands in his lap once he's given the rest of his bread to his Linoone lounging beneath the table.

"A couple Momo-kun left me are incredibly strong. I'm glad they seem to like me even just a little. Knowing him, he told them about me." Momo was that type. "I was going to bring her along today, but Chiisai wasn't up for it. Those two are like siblings already... it's cute. Himiko loves meeting other Eeveelutions, so she'd love to meet Suisen." Himiko seemed to love meeting new people and things in general. I was Nanako that proved difficult.

As if on cue, Nanako makes her way over to Chihiro and asks to be petted nicely. She likes Chihiro.

Chihiro offers Nanako a smile, reaching down to gently pet the top of her head. She's careful to avoid her ears, though. He's learned enough about that from his own Meowstic.

"It's surprising how some Pokemon seem to get along so well, sometimes...even ones you don't think would do."

Nanako is very happy about this. She let's out a little chirping mewl before going over to Rise again. "Nanako is... really overprotective sometimes. She doesn't get along with a lot of Pokémon, or people. She adores Jin, and won't leave his side unless I ask her to."

Rise lets out a soft sigh and shakes her head, giving Chihiro a small smile. "You're the first boy she hasn't actively tried to intimidate and get away from me. So I think she likes you. There's one other boy, but at this point, I think she just tolerates him."

That causes Chihiro to blush and glance away, kicking his feet a little over the edge of the seat of the bench. "I see...some Pokemon are just like that, I think. People can be that way, too, but I guess it just isn't as easy to see."

"I think... I like a overprotective Pokémon more than an overprotective person. I can't think of a Pokémon having a hidden agenda! Right?" Rise looks down at Nanako, who shrugs in return. She certainly didn't have a reason to be malicious. She just wanted her trainer safe and happy.

"That's sweet, Nanako. I want you safe and happy, too~"

"Mm, that's true. And that's a good way to think about it, I think." Chihiro has a few Pokemon like that anyway, like Horu. Though, he's never met anyone who wanted to willingly stand up to a Garchomp, after all.

"I'm thankful Nanako hasn't attacked anyone yet." The closest she's ever come to an attack by her Pokémon against another person was Fukuro. His bad habit of dive-bombing new people made things harder than they should be.

"Oh, I doubt she ever would unless she had a good enough reason. Right?" He asks the Meowstic in question.

Nanako stares at him. She lets Chihiro know that she would rip off the face of anyone who would try and hurt Rise.

Rise watches them both. "What's she saying?"

Chihiro can't exactly tell what she's saying without one of his psychics with him, but having bred Pokemon for as long as he has, it's easier to pick out what they mean if nothing else.

"She's saying that she'll protect you no matter what, Rise-san."

Rise smiles at Nanako before squeaking. "Y-You told him that?! You can't rip faces off!" Nanako huffs at her trainer for yelling. Rise gets a further scolding from her Pokémon. "O-Oh..." She looks panicked now as she looks around. "D-Did I really just yell that? Do you think anyone heard me?"

Chihiro reaches up to stifle a small laugh with his hand. "I...I don't think she meant it seriously. I think it's sweet that she wants to look after you."

Rise nods, trying her best to ignore Nanako insisting that she would indeed get that violent. "R-Right... I'm happy she wants to do that... But does she have to think so violently?"

He just shrugs at that, looking down when he feels Isamu nosing a little at his foot from underneath the table. "Maybe she just has a different way of expressing it.

"Maybe..." Leave it to her to get a Pokémon with a worse attitude than Kanji. She looks down as Jin yawns and opens his eyes. "Hey there, sleepy head~ How are you feeling?"

Jin yawns again in answer and looks at all of the bugs in turn. What was going on?

Chihiro looks back over when Jin wakes up, his smile returning. "Hello, Jin."

Jin perks up a little. A new person? He looks at Nanako for an affirmation this person was nice. Once confirmed, he looks back at Chihiro and gives him a tired little chirp.

"May I pet him?" Chihiro asks. He's sure she wouldn't mind, but it's polite to ask anyway.

Rise nods and moves closer. "He likes having the spots behind his ears scratched."

Well, that's just what he's going to do, then. "Ah, Henko likes it when I scratch behind her ears, too."
