8th Act - Happy Anniversary, Eve's Garden Circus!

You know what's better than a regular birthday? The birthday of a circus.




Throughout the streets of Goldenrod, folks will find all sorts of colorful characters and Pokemon about. Fliers and the like have been regular eve since the Circus started up a year ago, but the advertising is in full force today just to make it EXTRA apparent that today is the day. Another hint is all the air traffic in the skies- various Flying-type Pokemon that make up the Circus' transportation service. Who knows? Maybe you're one of those using it today!

And of course, who can miss the colorful spectacle that is the circus itself? Past the entrance gate (which will let you onto the circus grounds for a miniscule fee) are dozens and dozens of stalls and little tents. Looming over them is the main tent itself, a monstrosity of bright welcoming colors. There are all sorts of things amongst their ranks, but it's generally fairly easy to find what you're looking for as Pidgey of a feather flock together and all that... From games of all sorts like the usual carnival games to more of a retro arcade, to a set of shops with local crafts and maybe something from the foreign trainers.... Of course, there's also all sorts of food stalls and even shacks for more filling stuff.

There's even a Litleo hunt going on today! Catch one, win a prize!

With all that alone, you could probably keep busy for most of the day! But surely you aren't forgetting the Big Act?

Yep, the big acts in the Big Top. Times are posted both at the front gate, on fliers you can pick up here and there, and by the entrance to the large tent. For each day, there will be three shows! Better hope you can snag a ticket before they get sold out... Although maybe you'll get lucky for the next show. Or the next day....

Either way, it promises to be a fun weekend!

[Kaneki watches as Phantom eyes her from his spot on the table, admittedly feeling a little naked without his little tea candle holder to sit in.]

It's still a little weird to think that I hatched a candle with a face from an egg.

[shuttermouse]

Yeah. It's even weirder than hatching a goat from an egg. [ She continues to look at the Litwick, biting off another piece of bread as she does so. ]

[samsa]

[Phantom lets out a little huff, his flame flaring a bit. Hey, it's not that weird you guys >C]

He's really good to have around, though. I don't have to worry about not having a reading light, at least.

[shuttermouse]

[ Sorry but you're totally weird, buddy. :|a ]

I guess, but this reading light sucks your energy. Do you fall asleep reading?

[samsa]

Ah...sometimes. I don't mind it too much, though. I usually read with him before bed anyway.

[shuttermouse]

[ Neeeerd. ]

So you read a lot, huh? Not that I'm surprised; I've heard you studied literature. [ She's a nosy person who may or may not have looked into Kaneki a little after she decided that she wanted to take interesting pictures of him. ]

[samsa]

[Ah, that's...well, seeing as she's Tsukiyama's close friend, he's not all that surprised at what she knows, actually...]

That's right. I spent a lot of my time reading, back home. Reading and studying, for the most part.

[He still does here, but with the Pokemon...well, they tend to be a bit more of a distraction.]

[shuttermouse]

That sounds pretty boring. Then again, I've never really cared for books all that much. [ She shrugs and shoves the last remaining piece of bread into her mouth and chews loudly. ]

[samsa]

[Well, at...least she's honest.]

Just photography instead, right?

[shuttermouse]

Yup. [ She raises her camera to snap a picture of the Litwick. ]

I've made it my goal to take pictures of all the species here.

[samsa]

[Phantom blinks a little in surprise, rubbing his eyes again.]

Wow...that's a lot. How many do you have so far?

[shuttermouse]

Around forty or so, right now. The circus show should be able to give me more.

[samsa]

That's pretty impressive, already.

[Like capturing them, just...with her camera instead.]

It's a good excuse to travel, if you plan to.

[shuttermouse]

I'm probably going to travel all over both regions, once I've settled in a bit more and my strongest Pokémon isn't at level ten.

[ She'd rather not get her team wiped, thnx. ]

[samsa]

I'm interested in going to Kanto one day, myself...but I should probably actually travel to a different town here before I try that. I've been in Goldenrod for several months now.

[shuttermouse]

...Why are you still here? [ why would you even stay that long jfc ]

[samsa]

There's a bookstore not far from where I've been staying that I work at. I thought it would be a good idea to have at least a bit of money on me before I tried going anywhere else.

[And he's...not the greatest at battling yet, so he's not sure if he could have relied on that for food money.]

[shuttermouse]

You could ask Tsukiyama-kun for money. [ He may not be completely loaded with money here but she's pretty sure he would be happy to shove $$$ in Kaneki's direction. ]

[samsa]

I guess...but I'm not sure if I would feel right, doing that.

[He knows perfectly well that Tsukiyama would just toss money his way if he so much as mentioned it in passing that it was something he needed, but he'd at least make the attempt to make some sort of his own living first.]

[shuttermouse]

Why? He wouldn't say no to you.

[samsa]

Well yeah, but...I wouldn't just ask for money unless I really needed it, I guess.

[shuttermouse]

Okay. [ She'll leave it at that, then; she's not here to convince Kaneki that he totally should tell Tsukiyama to give him money.

Caressing her camera, she stands up and turns her head to look at Pokémon that are on the grass. The Zweilous looks particularly interesting. ]

I'm going to take pictures of them.

[samsa]

[That causes him to tense a little, looking over at where Angmar still seems to be...arguing with himself, or something to that affect.]

Alright...be careful with Angmar, though. He- ...they bite.

[shuttermouse]

...They look like they have a Beatles haircut.

[ Not deterred in the slightest, she slowly moves closer to the dragon. ]

[samsa]

....they sortof do.

[Wow, how didn't he notice that.

Meanwhile, one of the heads hears her movement in the grass and it causes him to look up from where he'd been trying to push the other away from the food bowl. He looks Chie's way, but it's clear he can't actually see her at all.]
