...No, I mean- do you even know what animal that's supposed to be? It literally looks like cotton candy with eyes.
[Hmm, good question. Osaka examines the little creature in her arms with a critical eye...]
... Yeah, I think that's about right.
... Yeah, I think that's about right.
[Frantic chittering weasel he's not getting her back from any time soon. And so he sighs, shaking his head but leaning back against Hina instead, letting her warmth curl around him while Hana seems to refuse to take so much as a breath.
It makes him wonder where the rest of his team is, but considering the last time he and Mizumaru were reunited he got doused...no thank you. He'll stick to waiting with his firedoge nearby. Hana better not jump on him.]

{It's a long while before Hana calms down enough to stop grooming her human and notice Toushirou. But when she does, she utters a loud squeak, and snakes out her body so she can try and get as close to Hitsugaya as possible. But it's not close enough.}
What, would you like me to carry you closer? {Another imperious-sounding squeak, and Nanao acquiesces. C'mere, sonthing, time to say hello to furscarf.}

[The Carbinks are a little strange to him still, they speak of the Creator and their summoning from a far away region to do battle with evil men who would use those that made the land and sea for themselves, and N tries not to flinch when he hears it and he tells them that they're brave.
He's known his share of evil men; he's still never sure if he was one, once, and he wonders if it's telling that he doesn't like to think about it too much.
But the Carbinks are kind and eventually he becomes accustomed to being around them, with what they do with one another and what their hearts sound like, and when another sound joins theirs - not the voice of a Pokémon, but rather one of a human, articulations that don't need to be translated into words because they're already there - he freezes a little, eyes wide and staring into the space directly in front of him like he's fighting the instinctive urge to bolt.
He doesn't know where it comes from, and his eyes slide closed after a moment and once they have the feeling leaves him, and he's able to stand up and face her properly because he'd know that voice anywhere.
He still stares at her face a bit too openly, like a kid who's never been taught that it's rude to do that to people; his expressions are are still strange, vague things. But he smiles anyway.]
The Pokémon are very kind here. They speak so highly of everyone...
[He doesn't seem to realize that's a bit of a non sequitur, especially in greeting to someone so important, someone he hasn't seen in a very long time; maybe that's because as far as he's concerned, it isn't.
It's important information and he imagines she'll understand why.]
Come say hello.
[To the Carbinks. To him. Maybe both.]

[And Perry rolled his eyes, nudging his sleeping Psyduck awake as he picks him up and starts to talk away. Whether he's actually going to leave you or just taunting is up to you, Heinz.]
[Normally Perry would just roll his eyes and ignore that insult, but this was his Pokemon Nanako just insulted, not himself. He adjusts his hat with purpose before gesturing to his Psyduck to do a Water Gun. The Psyduck, seemingly much less phased by the insult, obliges and shoots a Water Gun at the opposing Pokemon.]
[The attack hits as the Psyduck falls over in pain. Perry hurriedly rushes to his Pokemon side and tries to tend to him, assuming that he's lost.
However, just as Perry kneels down to him, the Psyduck slowly gets back up and nods to his owner in understanding. Perry nods back and signs for him to do an attack.
The Psyduck walks as as possible to Leader and Scratches him the best he could regarding the situation.]
[Ah. There's the familiar Furmama. Hina "woof"s softly in greeting--she remembers you, Hana--but Hitsugaya just reaches up and...yep. That spot that got Hana to relax is getting a scritch. Breathe, furscarf. Breathe.]
Good to see you, too.
[He's missed this world. So much.]

Huh...
[ Because that doesn't add up. He showed up the moment Munakata's sword went through him. That's the last thing he remembers. He didn't even feel the pain. And then Bandou shows up not knowing a thing about the operation they undertook. Not even knowing he died. And then here's Eric saying it's been a year. It didn't feel like a year. It's only been what, six months? Ish?
There's a sigh as he lightly pulls his hand out of Eric's grip and uses it to muss up his hair. If it's been a year, then it's been a year for him. A whole year and he can't even imagine what him and all of HOMRA have been up to. ]
How's everyone doing?

Yeah? Looks like you got a tough one.
[ Suoh pauses to glance at her... friend. He has to admit, that's a pretty impressive looking pokemon. Even his Sausage was pretty tiny when he first arrived. Sausage in turn doesn't seem to mind the magmortar but he does give it a few curious sniffs to figure out if it's hostile.
Ah well. If his trainer and the tiny trainer he seems to have picked up don't seem to be bothered, why worry?
But there are important things to take care of, after all. First things first is to find the closest hotel then rendezvous with Bandou... ]
Got anywhere to stay?

[ Shaking her head slowly. ] No, I was...
[ A familiar sensation travels her spine when she thinks of the person who called herself "mom" to the young girl--one that Anna has to push aside. It's easier when she's around her king almost as if his aura burns away all of those bad feelings. ]
I was kicked out of where I was staying. [ The way she says it makes her think of herself as a delinquent. A true member of their clan. ] Sorry.

I... guess... so. Either that or... do you think it's a Strain?
[ But his worries are momentarily put on hold as he spots the honedge poking around Andy's head. ]
Is that your starter? I've never seen that kind of pokemon before!

[ There's a small frown at that because anyone who dares treat Anna that way? Whose house does he have to burn down? But given the circumstances of her arrival... ]
The one who threw you out. Did she call herself mom?
[ Because if it was, Anna has nothing to be ashamed of. She threw him out when he arrived too. It's new HOMRA tradition! ]

So it's her name. [ Putting it together, her mind jumps to saying that out loud instead of answering him initially. As mature as she acts, she's still a child at times and it's that simple mindedness that allows her to mingle among thugs.
Lifting her head enough to nod. ] That's right. I thought it was a case of amnesia again.
[ Usually the relatives don't remember her, but maybe something happened to change it. ]

Guess not. I didn't meet anyone like that.
[Good thing, too - Phi might just have believed her.]
Still, this is oddly hospitable for a kidnapping.

[Now he's clinging to your human leg.]
No wait, don't go! I don't know anything about anything here! Everyone looks slightly more evil than me and is it me or do they have huuuge eyes?

[ There's just the tiniest pout because gdi quit it with the ruffling of his hair he's like 19 now D<
And really where should he start? Kusanagi was a mess and disappeared for more then half a year to Germany apparently, Chihuahua was so moody that he spent most of his time in the bar watching old videos, Kamamoto took care of Anna who is now the new Red King, everyone had been so distant he barely saw anyone for so long. Now they're back together again at least and they're back to being Homra after Anna was kidnapped. ]
Better...
[ Yep. ]

Ah well, I hope we're not in London, this should be Germany, right?
[ He couldn't have run all the way chasing a sheep, right? He would've remembered the water when he had to cross over. ]

Oh. That's how it usually goes, actually, but things have been pretty weird lately.
...Like, weirder than normal. I mean, I guess it's not bad here, but it's weird. Unknown kidnapping forces, cats that shoot lightning, floating pink flower pigs—y'know. [She counts each oddity on her finger as she goes, sounding entirely too casual.]

That goes for both of us, I think.
[It's good, just being close to him like this, and while it's true that the passage of time has taken with it some of the urgency and desperation born of passion, there's a pleasantness to the comfortable quiet of understanding between them, too.]
It's hard to believe it's been more than three years since the day I was looking for the airport, and you turned up to say I wouldn't find it.
[And maybe more, from his perception, maybe eons more, but three years is a long time from her standpoint, too.]

[Well, that certainly stops her in her tracks. Her teasing face falls away and she stares at him in shock.]
I... Okay, if that's true you're either far ahead of me or... things turned out differently for you. Either way, Shirou...
[She sighs.]
It's me. It's Ilya.

[Rise doesn't even have to give commands. Nanako can read her mind after all. The Meowstic bounces out of the way of the attack and proceeds to use Disarming Voice on the Psyduck. Though Nanako doubts there's much emotional damage she can do to a Pokémon with the intelligence of a rock.]
