[Yay! Osaka comes over and crouches down nearby, holding out a hand to the Torchic to pet its fluffy head. Her Jigglypuff, more curious than shy now, also comes over to say hello.]

Hey there, lil' guy. Oh! [Looking up at Roman again-] I forgot to ask, what's her name?

[The Torchic is very receptive to the attention, nudging her head up into Osaka's hand.]

...shee, uh. ...she doesn't have one.

Ohh. [Apparently satisfied with this answer, Osaka returns to quietly petting the birdie. However, a few seconds later, she pipes up again.]

You look like a "Higashimon."

[Yup sure did just name your fire chicken after a street in Kobe.]

[To that the Torchic peeps happily, while Roman just sortof watches Osaka, making a face that betrays how much he doesn't want to be here right now.]

...you know, if you like her so much, why don't you just keep her?

I don't know. She's following me around but that doesn't mean she's mine.

[Of course the little bird resents that sort of attitude, looking up at her trainer with a bit of a glare and a scratch of her talons against the earth.]

Actually, I think that's how it works! That's how I met Puchipuchi here. [She picks up the Jigglypuff as she stands up, and it coos appreciatively.] If they wanna be your friend, they follow you.

[Roman seems less than convinced, if the way he looks Osaka and her Jigglypuff over is anything to go by.]

[He continues to eye that Jigglypuff though because what is he actually looking at, here.]

...No, I mean- do you even know what animal that's supposed to be? It literally looks like cotton candy with eyes.
