[... That's. Actually a good question. Elsa switches her roster around quite a bit when she's in cities, so she can help all her Pokemon grow, but she hasn't bothered with a head count recently. So it takes her a second....]

[It's a good thing Elsa's not a smug individual, or else she'd definitely be feeling that right about now.]
[He wants to ask...why when she's got the power to send a whole country into an eternal winter, but that would likely come across as being too interested. So instead he just straightens himself up a bit, letting his hand come to rest against his Ponyta's back.]
They're loyal companions. Why wouldn't I want them by my side? I help them grow, and they protect me, if need be.
[In all honesty, she doesn't care if he picks up that her having her powers right now is a... different development. She has faith in all her companions - both pokemon and human - should he ever try and use that to his advantage.]
They're more than just animals. Raising and living alongside the creatures here is a way of life for the people of this land, both native and visiting.
[Honestly, that hasn't registered at all. On top of seeing such...weird creatures all around, he hasn't had much of a chance to stop and contemplate what's going on here beyond the fact that he's currently trapped in the midst of it all.]

It would be a foolish move not to, since we have no idea when we'll be returned to our homes. How else am I supposed to provide for myself? This land is very open with its assistance to its people, but I still need to do something until the time comes to return home.
This place is not and never will be my home, but I must do my best to make my stay manageable.

I've been here for months, and it isn't even the first time I've displayed my powers. Some of the others... [She pauses for a moment, looking down at Fenrir as if for reassurance.] Some of them know about things that happened in the past. But still, they've said nothing but good things.
[She isn't sure why she's telling him this. Maybe it's to show that she's much stronger now emotionally. To show him that he can't break her as easily as he did in the fallout of her coronation.]
[He wants to tell her that continuing to think that might be a lost cause, but it would be redundant to at this point. Either way, his frustration is clear enough in his expression. But that does tell him one thing; the people here are apparently just as naive and trusting at the people of Arendelle were, so that's something for him to think about.]
I am, very much so. The people here have helped me more than I thought I needed, and for that, I am forever in their debt. I'll do whatever I can to come to their aid if they're ever in trouble, as they once did for me.
[It's a much subtler threat than the one she gave him earlier, but the edge is still there. She's going to reinforce the fact that she's not going to let him work his way into the heads or hearts of the people she's come to care for.]
[It may be subtle, but he can pick it out. Years of living with his brothers who would do things exactly like this when speaking with him makes it hard to miss the inflection. It always felt like he was being talked down to.]

[He fully expects for a retort to that commenting on his own lack therof in that department, but no matter what she says it won't change the fact that he did provide her own people with aid when she was responsible for them nearly freezing to death.

[Call it sappy, but hey. How she feels about those people isn't some sort of mutually beneficial agreement between distant parties. She cares about the ones she met here like she cares about her people. Like she cares about Anna, in some cases...]
Friends, subjects...there comes a point when there isn't much difference.
[He says quietly, less as a counterpoint and more of just something he's saying to confirm it for himself. She might feel the need to make friends, but he knows it's rare you'll ever find a genuine one.]
You of all people should know that friends tend to not always be as genuine as you think.
There is a difference, not that someone like you would know. [A bit harsh, she knows, but Elsa can't stand for him saying these things about the people she's come to care for.] I don't rule over my friends. I treat them as anyone would treat a companion like that; as an equal.
[Again, her fists clench tight.]
These people had many chances to break me the way you tried to, and did nothing but keep showing me kindness. Just admit that not everyone is as awful as you are.
[Her words have more bite than she realizes. Not only because they're true, but because she seems to be living a life here that's incredibly inclusive. Not at all how things used to be back in Arendelle.]
You would be a fool to think otherwise, Elsa. But I'm not going to stop you. If that what makes you happy, then by all means! Don't let me get in the way of you and your new friends.
