It's a birthday!

Where: Cerulean City (waterpark during the till the afternoon, then the aquarium for the rest of the day)
When: July 6th
Summary: It's Serah's birthday! And Lightning wants her to have a good one
one, so off to the waterpark and aquarium they go!

[Lightning worked hard to make sure her sister had no idea what she was planning. Her excuse to getting some many cupcakes? Family party in the apartment they were renting. Serah would instead wake up to no sister, cupcakes, or Pokémon. Just a note that tells her where and when to be somewhere.

Where?

The waterpark.

This is just the start of five hundred years of missing family events.]

Well, you two did great! I'm glad he could make it, too. He's a great guy.

That he is. My first travel companion other than Naminé. Though I didn't think much of him at first. He wasn't exactly the most impressive type.

[It's said with a teasing tone.]

He's loyal, and... someone I can confide in.

[ That tone gets a laugh from her, and a wide smile. ]

I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but I'm really happy you have people like that here.

For the longest while, they were my only two friends. I've made a few more since then. But not like those two.

[They've seen her at her most vulnerable states.]

[ Another hug! ]

I'm glad to hear it. Now--should we swim?

[Yay hugs.]

Yes. Want to try the slide first?

Sure! It looks like fun. Are you going to follow me down, Lightning?

[She nods and leads her there.]

Try not to scream too much.

Hey, I haven't screamed on a ride since I was little, Lightning!

[bylight]

[She ruffles her hair.]

It can still happen.

[ She laughs, climbing up the ladder before her sister. ]

Prepare to be disappointed.

[bylight]

[She chuckles and follows her up.]

Right.

[failnought]

[ She gives Lightning a grin before situating herself at the mouth of the slide. Then, she pushes herself off, and before long, Lightning might hear her little sister laughing. ]

[The laughter was nicer to listen to than screaming. After a minute, she joins in by sliding down herself.

Okay, this was fun.]

[ Serah's perched at the edge of the pool, grinning widely. ]

Well?

[bylight]

[Lightning shakes her hair out as soon as she's out of the pool.]

You certainly grew up.

[ Serah stands with a grin, pushing the hair out of her face. ]

Well, yeah! Why wouldn't I have?

Sometimes people don't change even as they age.

[She ruffles her sisters hair.]

Hope you didn't change too much.

[ She laughs, poking her forehead lightly. ]

I'm still the same old Serah, you know. Always will be, no matter how much I grow. Or, something like that.

[She blinks and touches her forehead. That's a first.]

... I'm glad.

[ At least she can take comfort in surprising her sister. ]

So am I. So, what ride next?

How about the wave pool. We can see if either of us is any good at surfing.
