Come on, Carolina, have fun, Carolina
Who: Agent Carolina
secondplacing and you!
Where: Goldenrod City
When: Anytime during the month of February
Summary: Basically a catch-all log for Feb. Respond to one of the open prompts or ask me to tailor-make your own starter. Or, go ahead and start a thread with Carolina here!
Rating: PG
Log:
A.
[Carolina spends most of her nights working at the Goldenrod Pokémart-- so if you happen to come around then, Carolina might be your clerk. Or she might be doing the heavy lifting and re-stocking. Since most of her pokémon have become too large to follow her around on the job, though, so instead she keeps FILSS around as a personal assistant.]
AGENT C. FIVE HOURS ON THE CLOCK REMAINING. WOULD YOU LIKE TO SET AN ALARM?
No, FILSS. Thanks, though. Resume count for me, please.
[Carolina continues stocking shelves. It's kind of boring, but with all the training they get in during the day, Carolina doesn't mind too much.]
UNDERSTOOD.
[By the way... it doesn't look like the sound is coming from any pokémon. Instead, FILSS is using the speaker in the Pokégear and a pre-recorded voice set to speak to Carolina.
It's kind of like having an AI again, and Carolina's never been more appreciative.]
---------------
B.
[During the daytime (but rather toward the afternoon), Carolina can be found either near the outskirts of Goldenrod training her pokémon, or just walking around the city.
Once again, feel free to write up your own or ask me for a toplevel!]

Sorry. He uh... doesn't like baths. I get the problem with the type weaknesses, but he still needs a wash. I didn't mean to disturb you from your training or something...

[Authoritative though she may still seem, arms crossed and all, she looks back at her own Tyrantrum, raising a brow.]
Trust me, I know the hassle. You managed to calm him down pretty quick, though.

[Rachel wanders over and puts a big paw on his shoulder. It's okay, small human friend.]
Have you been training yours long? You've had him long enough to evolve him, I guess, but...

[She gives Sheila a smile, watching as the beast lowers its head to receive a pat on the nose.]
Dinosaurs are related to birds, did you know that? At least, back on my earth, they were. Not too sure about these guys, honestly.
no subject
[Oh man someone else to nerd out with.]
Yeah, I know! I used to read a lot about dinosaurs... I saw some, too, actually.
no subject
Saw some? That's a new one.
How'd you manage that, exactly?

[unfortunately.]

[She doesn't want to imagine.]
Did you get back home?
no subject
[He just... puts his head in his hands for a minute.]
My life is so weird, and that's not even touching the 'I'm usually a bird' thing.
sorry for the delay, this quarter is a pain
And here I thought my world was one of the stranger ones around here.
[She can't help but stare in awe.]
I totally understand <3
Yeah. Turns out when you fight aliens, things get weird.

[...]
Friend of mine has an alien son, actually.

... That was kind of one of the easy parts of the whole war, honestly.

[The look on Carolina's face softens.
Like she knows.]
Sorry you had to deal with that.
[Kids shouldn't have to.
But it looks like, at least, she's picked up on the fact this might not be the best topic.]
How long's it been since you showed up around here?
no subject
[He'll live. Others won't, but he will.]
[But he can recognize the wisdom in moving on to a different topic.]
It's been... I was here for ten months before I went home and came back. A week passed here, but it was about a year back home. It's been about nine months since that happened, so about a year and a half total?
no subject
[A year and a half... A year and a half on Chorus is one thing, but a year and a half here?]
That a typical stay? And-- what do you mean, went home and came back?
no subject
And... I was out on one of the routes near Goldenrod training, and I collapsed. A friend found me and dragged me to his house - put me in his bathtub, actually - and while I was out it was like I was back home, with no memories of here. And when I first got here we'd been about... two years into the war? And when I woke up here again it was... like I'd spent that time there and come back.
It happens sometimes... people either disappear or get knocked out for a week, feel like they were back home, and wake up again. ... And I know it sounds like a really weird dream, but it's... too vivid to be a dream. Too many things happened. And I think even in a dream, I...
[He looks up at his Ursaring, and leans into her side. Nope. Not going there. We're not talking about it.]
no subject
Look at me, asking you all these questions and not even over drinks. You needed help with your Tyrantrum, or-- were you up for taking a break?
[She'll treat you, if you'll, you know, not mope.]
no subject
[He smiles a tiny bit, and pats Rachel's fur gently.]
But yeah, we can take a break.
