Who: Rakka (
charcoalfeather) and Tobias (
wing_attack)
Where: Cherrygrove Town
When: February 19th, Lovely Kiss Weekend
Summary: Rakka and Tobias meet on an unfortunate day
Rating: PG
Log:
[Was she late? Maybe, possibly. "Friday, by noon" Tobias had said. He would Fly here, to the Pokemon center, and they would finally meet in person. After talking to so many people through her pokegear in the last week, she would take it as a pleasant and much-needed change of pace.
She stepped through the double sliding doors - those still freaked her out a week later. Life was strange and new here, but at least she knew where the comfy seats were, perfect for waiting in.. if she didn't fall asleep in the process. But that was unlikely in her current mood. Was she nervous? Maybe a little bit. Being as it was, meeting Tobias at all came about by a prank by her Espurr, Bright. Bright was, thankfully, back at the inn, Rakka just had two Pokemon waiting with her right now.
A snugly Togepi sitting contently in her lap, and a Pidove perching on her head, keeping an eye on the door when his trainer was not.]

Yes, he is! [As if on cue, Pidove decided now was the perfect opportunity to land on Rakka's head again. It wasn't painful... but it netted a look of surprise.]
A few days ago, he hatched. I decided to name him Gale!
no subject
[Regal chirps a hello to the other bird, too.]
So, are you guys ready to head out?
no subject
Hehe, I thought it was. I think it really goes with him. [And it just sounded cool, she thought. But it's the same naming convention!! mostly!!
Kuu chirped contently in Rakka's arms, a sign she was pretty excited to go too. And Rakka gave a nod.]
Yes! Where do you want to go first?

[Her Pokemon
and hercould really use the exercise.Rakka steps lively, already a few footfalls towards the door as she looks back for him.]
no subject
He likes stretching out after we travel a little, before I put him back in the Pokeball.
[Tobias smiles at Rakka.]
It's been a little while since I've been to a beach. Goldenrod doesn't exactly have one, and the beach at the Lake of Rage is pretty muddy since it floods.
no subject
She made sure to not keep in front of Tobias, opting to stroll beside him as they started walking.]
Oooh-wha! [Rakka looks up at Regal circling above, Gale does the same... for a few seconds. The Pidove shoots off of Rakka's shoulder and into the air, flying low but still close to Regal.]
Uh... there's a place in Johto called the Lake of Rage?
no subject
Yeah. Supposedly it was made by a bunch of Gyarados a long time ago, and they're usually pretty angry, so... the Lake of Rage. I like camping up there... it's quiet and a good place to go if you need space to think. It gets a little busy with fishing in the summer, though.
no subject
Oh... it sounds nice! [is that really the word?] But I don't think I've ever heard of a Gyarados before.
no subject
It's north of Mahogany, and not too bad of a walk if you're not flying. And a Gyarados... imagine a really long fish with wings and a mouth full of teeth, and it's really angry all the time. Ah... here.
[He pulled out his Pokegear as they talked, flipping to the Pokedex and pulling up the entry on Gyarados.]
This one.
no subject
Huh, mm...? [Seeing as how he was already on that statement, Rakka felt rather somewhat glad she didn't have to pull out her own pokegear for a minute of fumbling. Thank goodness for some people knowing what they're doing around here--oh my.
Yup, that's definitely a Gyarados. And Rakka simply wasn't prepared for what it would look like.]
Oh they're, uh... really neat looking. [She tries to pass it off with a smile. How much it works is up to Tobias.] All the Pokemon I've seen so far have been so much smaller then that, and they can really get that big?
no subject
[He puts away his Pokegear. And he recognizes that kind of smile.]
... Look, some Pokemon are really weird-looking. Not everyone's a fan of every Pokemon. It's not like anyone's making you train a Gyarados.
no subject
Aah.. Mmm... [She opened her mouth to reply, only to shut it again.]
I know, it's just... I keep remembering just how much I've never seen before.

I told you about the giant walls we couldn't pass. But... this world doesn't have any of those. It's bigger then anything I can remember, and it feels like you can go as far as you want, wherever you want. That's why I'm excited to go to the beach.
[Her head tilts a bit.] but, I guess all of you get to see things like this all the time.
no subject
[Does he want to drop this into the conversation?]
Yeah. But I didn't really get to sightsee like I do here.
no subject
[She notices the change of subject in his voice... but she doesn't follow it. It was probably something he didn't want to get into anyways.]
I guess we can both see some new things around here.
[Kuu chirped sleepily in Rakka's arms, the sounds of quiet waves were soon upon both of them. The beach really wasn't the biggest or the best looking, but it certainly was the first one Rakka had see, judging from the way her eyes lit up.]
no subject
[He smiled at Kuu. Aww... cute...]
[The beach here was a lot rockier than he was used to, but it seemed like Rakka was happy.]
I know there's other regions out there - I've been to Kalos really briefly. But I wonder what else is out there. A whole planet full of places I've never seen before... it's kind of a fun idea.
no subject
Rakka was quite happy. Seeing as the ocean wasn't too far away, and an overwhelming urge to get closer beckoned, Rakka crept down the rocky expanse. Now she had to watch her step, or fear taking a fall, bringing her pokemon with her.]
It does - whoa - sound like fun! An entire world... sound so big... [She mused openly.] Is Kalos like this place? Or, uh, is it different?
no subject
It's... kind of different? It looked a little like France to me, but to be fair I've never actually been to France. I only saw one building and a little bit from the plane.
no subject
What's France? [She asks as though on cue, not even looking back at Tobias. She can't, really, seeing as she was walking rather carefully with a Togepi in her arms.
Gale was still keeping an eye out, circling overhead. He would always keep an eye on his trainer.]
I mean, if you want to explain it then. I've just never heard of that place.

Soon, she was out of the thick of it, standing on the beach and looking out to the ocean. By all appearances, she seemed to just be... soaking it all in.]
It's so lovely here.
no subject
[Even if he has zero desire to go into the water. Nuh uh, no thanks. He's had enough water.]
I bet it's even better at sunrise or sunset. The water reflecting the colors... you could probably get a lot of good pictures out of it.
no subject
It's probably nicer then, and when the weather's nicer... I think I'll come back here sometime. [She tucked away the idea of 'pictures' for later.] I think I'm actually happy being here, maybe I really can get used to it.
