I can't come up with a good subject /fails [Open]
Who: Naruto and whoever else would like to join~
Where: Route 29, half-way to Cherrygrove
When: Oct, 6th around noon
Summary: Half-way to Cherrygrove, Naruto decides to take a short break and rest while checking out his new pokemon. Feel free to stop by and say hello~
Rating: PG-13 we'll say.
Log:
Deciding to take a break from all the running and walking andskipping, Naruto tosses his pack down onto the ground and plops down next it, a row of trees behind him. He whipes the sweat from his forehead with the end of his shirt and lays back onto the soft grass. Reaching out to his bag Naruto pulls his pokeball out to look it over. He sits up and fumbles with it again, there's a flash of light and the Poliwag is standing in front of him once the light dies down. The blond grins at it and it smiles back, at least he thinks it does -- he can't really tell.
"So you're a Poliwag, huh? What kind of pokemon are you?" He asks, though he knows it won't actually tell him, but he can't help but say the question anyways, even if only to himself.
"Poliwag!" It chirps and it makes him laugh a little.
From the fins for feet it looks like some sort of tadpole, and obviously from being water-gunned it must be a water element type. Not exactly his element, but who was he to complain? At least he had one!
"Hmm I think I'll call you .. Gama!" Since it reminds him of the toads he had first summoned when he was younger. "Do you like that name?"
"Poli!" It replies and he isn't sure if that means it likes it or not but it hasn't water-gunned him for it so .. the pokemon just might like it's new name.
It's still a day's worth until he reaches Cherrygrove, and knowing Sasuke is there it only makes him want to get there even faster.

He felt a bit calmer. Nothing disastrous had happened aside the purple-rat-incident earlier, and the Yanma seemed a bit tired since that whole ordeal, so all things considered, things weren't too bad. And the teen here seemed to be in the same boat. Well, judging from his magicaltalkingbox, most people were, but this was the first - well second - real meeting he'd had with someone else. He halfway hoped this person was as lost about it all as Tulio was himself.
And in response to the question asked, he looked up, scrutinizing the kid properly with a slight frown before answering.
"Pretty much-" It was cut short from his Yanma nudging his back, and he made a sort of growling sound before attempting to shoo him away. Then, turned back. "So... I take it you're not one of the locals, either."

"You can do that, but I doubt it'll go away." He said with a small chuckle as he watched the man try to get the insect to go away.
"Nope, sure not! I got here a couple days ago. A lot of people have, I guess. I still don't get the whole making these things fight each other but .." Naruto just shrugged. He still wasn't sure he could just make his pokemon fight -- unless it wanted to, of course.
"Did you just get here?"

"I got here yesterday", he handwaved the answer, was more interested at the previous statement the other person had made. "What was that? They're supposed to fight each other?"
He'd really hoped that freak-rat-thing had been a one time deal. Was that the whole point of this sudden quest? He'd seen various kind of animal fights on the streets, but had honestly found them a bit too macabre to participate in. He was more for the regular conning tricks. And now he had somehow gotten stuck with an enormous dragonfly and the point was to make it fight?
Well, thinking about the rat fight earlier, it didn't seem to have affected either the Yanma or the other animal-thing too bad. Maybe this world was different. Scratch that, he knew this world was different, but if these animals were as extraordinary as some people had hinted, maybe he could use this to an advantage.
He gave the Yanma a sideways glance. It seemed excited for the attention.

Naruto had only learned he could put it away a few days ago, which helped with traveling. By a lot. He didn't have to worry about his Poliwag getting lost or keeping up if he got to far ahead. Quite a nifty deal.
"Yeah! Isn't that crazy? And some of them even like fighting." The blond said, still unsure how he felt about the whole 'making them fight' thing. It was one thing to fight in defense or to spar. Sure, he was a ninja and some of their ninja had pets or partners that fought -- okay so it was kind of like that. But still.

Shrugging off the backpack (quite gratefully, as it had begun to feel really heavy lately), he put it on the ground and with one knee on the ground, began looking it through for one of the little ... things. He found one, and without much ado and halfway expecting it to not work, he aimed it at the Yanma and pressed the button - and it was captive in the little ball, and all was well. He couldn't help but feel quite shocked at this, but decided to not think of it any differently. When in Rome, or what was it? He'd definitely make use of this trick more.
Returning his focus now on the other person again and what he was saying, he found the information very interesting. And admittedly, still a little ... new and disturbing.
"They don't seem to take much harm though", he thought out loud, automatically gazing at the area where his enormous dragonfly had last been.
