When: February 24th, after France makes Merlin look ~*SNAZZY*~ (BACKDATIIIIING)
Summary: Rise drags Merlin out shopping so France can burn his old clothes. Shenanigans ensue. RISE TENDS TO DO THIS A LOT.

[ sup, Goldenrod store. There is one idol half-walking with, half-dragging a guy in a tux and looking around with an air of purpose. Because, you know, Rise takes fashion seriously, and Merlin is going to get lots of outfits to make him look good and he will LIKE IT. ]

Okay, that over there is the-- whoops, that's the lingerie section! I bet you've got fond memories of that, don't you?

[Sputtering as he gets dragged along] What--wait, we aren't going in there. Rise, no.

You remember what happened last time. [Right on cue, he begins turning red]

[ nice part of acting is being able to keep a straight face.

... Except this is Merlin, so Rise's giggling in about three seconds, anyway. ]

Relax, I was just playing tour guide! Besides, I don't think your size is over there.

I don't have a size! [He whispers furiously, eyes widening. When he spots the attendant from his previous...venture into the Department Store, he ducks his head and quickens his pace]

[ RAISING HER FREE HAND TO WAVE. ]

Gak-- [With an abortive, flailing sort of gesture, he grabs her hand before she can finish raising it and drags her past that section as quickly as he can]

Hey, Merlin?! [ ddjsjkfgjhdjkg you're forward today. ]

[dragonspeak]

Rise, that's the attendant who...thought. Oh, never mind. [He relaxes once the woman's out of sight and lets go of Rise's hand]

... The one who thought you had 'questionable habits', right?

...yes. That one. [His shoulders slump as he glances back]

It's okay! [ cheerily patting his shoulder. ] I'm sure she's forgotten all about it by now!

[Vaguely hopeful expression] You think so?

Definitely. [ not really, but she doesn't need Merlin running screaming out of there before she gets him a decent wardrobe. ]

[He foolishly relaxes, taking Rise's word for it] Well, if you say so. [He shuffles his feet as he surveys their surroundings] Where should we go?

We're going to the men's department! You don't know your sizes offhand, do you?

[He plucks at his new clothes, frowning] I haven't really...shopped for myself before.

... Um... Merlin, you're a little too old not to.

[Shakes his head] Maybe it's different for people in the future, but servants like me don't exactly have much choice for clothing. [Smiles wryly] We take what we get.

Okaaaaaay, this shopping spree is on me!

On yo--no. No way. If we're going to be having a "shopping spree", I'm paying for it. [Touches her shoulder briefly] It's enough that you're willing to do this without my asking. Honest.

[ and she pouts up at him. ] Merlin, I wouldn't be offering if I didn't want to.

I know that. [He nudges her] And I appreciate it. Just...let me do this for myself.

[ Rise don't look too convinced just yet, but simply sighs. ] Let's actually get there first.

Sounds like a plan. [Makes to step forward, then pauses] ...you should probably lead the way. I er...have no idea where anything is.
