Who: Merlin and Rise

When: February 24th, after France makes Merlin look ~*SNAZZY*~ (BACKDATIIIIING)
Summary: Rise drags Merlin out shopping so France can burn his old clothes. Shenanigans ensue. RISE TENDS TO DO THIS A LOT.

[ sup, Goldenrod store. There is one idol half-walking with, half-dragging a guy in a tux and looking around with an air of purpose. Because, you know, Rise takes fashion seriously, and Merlin is going to get lots of outfits to make him look good and he will LIKE IT. ]

Okay, that over there is the-- whoops, that's the lingerie section! I bet you've got fond memories of that, don't you?

I'll have you know that women's garments can be very frightening. [He adds as an afterthought: ] Especially if people think you have...questionable habits. Which I don't.

And that's not even mentioning how complicated the str--[Breaks off, looking put out] You're not taking this seriously at all, are you? [There's a small smile tugging at his lips, despite his tone]

[Clucks his tongue, smile widening] Your laughter tells me otherwise.

Nonsense. [He tries for the loftiest tone he can manage, pressing his lips together to look at her sternly--his lips still twitch occasionally, giving away his amusement] You're imagining it.

Reeeaally? [ oh now you've done it, she's got the look of supreme innocence. ]

Yes, realllyyy. [He grabs a jacket from the nearest clothes rock and holds it up for her to examine] So...clothes shopping?

[ she eyes the jacket, then shakes her head and grabs a darker blue one to switch in with his ]

You're sounding...enthusiastic about this. [Dutifully takes the new jacket from her] Is this something you did often back home?

Kind of. Senpai went shopping with me sometimes, but getting Kanji to go takes forever.

Senpai? Oh, right. Someone who's older than you in your school. [He raises his eyebrows]

Who else did you make a habit of going shopping with? I'd imagine there were easier tar--I mean, friends to convince. [Sheepish smile]

Yukiko-senpai and Chie-senpai, sometimes... well, I used to go by myself before I knew them, so it wasn't really a habit.

Alone? It sounds as if you enjoy doing this with your friends, so why... [Pause] Was it...because of the bullying?

... Up until a year ago, I didn't really have friends. Not people I could actually call friends, anyway. Maybe it was the bullying or the idol thing or just having strict parents... I didn't go out that much when I was a kid.

You have friends now. [He runs a hand through his hair] I'd be willing to shopping with you whenever you want.


...as long as we avoid the lingerie section. Please.

Isn't that...Whitney? The Gym Leader?

Errrrr Rise? I think she's headed right for us. [He freezes, watching Whitney practically bounding over, several of her friends from the Gym in tow]
