Summary: It's about time all the Rocket Grunts of Saotome told the truth to their two friends.

[They had all gathered to a room at an inn in northern Goldenrod. There was a Gardevoir in the room, watching the door to see if anyone was listening outside.

It was time to tell the truth to Natsuki and Shou. Ren had planned everything he would say to others and hoped that they would take it somewhat calmly.

Ren told them how it was possible to become the member of Team Rocket right from the very beginning and how it didn't matter if you wanted to become one or not. This was what had happened to Haruka and Hijirikawa as well as Ren himself.]

Basically our job is to do mission. Most common one of them is stealing. I've been in the Team for months and I haven't done anything worse than that. [He shoots a glance at Hijirikawa, just in case.]

Before you ask - there is a way to get out of the Team. I have a plan for that as well, so I just need your co-operation. [Well, at least a plan to get Haruka out and that was the most important thing.]

Though before that. Any questions? I'll answer everything honestly and I'm sure Haruka and Hijirikawa will both do the same.

...What sort of plan?

[ at the start of the conversation, he was constantly glaring at Ren while stealing aside concerned glances at Nanami upon breaking his glare -- but the word "plan" catches his attention. He'll focus on blowing up about the "stealing" part once he knows what he has to do for Nanami. ]

[ Natsuki was mostly quiet ... for once. He hadn't really understood at first but now he was beginning to. He hated the idea of his dear Haruka being have to made to do all those bad missions. Haruka is much too kind and gentle for a world like that ...

Her heart was much too warm ... like the sun.

He wanted to help, but he waits for Ren's answer. He would help. No matter what, he wanted to bring Haruka-chan to safety. He'd do anything. ]

[While it wasn't nice being glared at from more than one direction (since that was the default face Hijirikawa made at him), Ren was glad it wasn't any worse. Then again, Haruka was there so of course no one would dream about hitting him or anything while she was there.]

All you would need to worry about is getting the princess as far away from here as possible. I would deal with the rest. [He leans against the wall.] After two weeks of time you can return here if you so wish, but it would be good to avoid larger cities until then.

"Far away"--?

How far away would that be? The next few cities or towns over? Back to New Bark Town? Or somewhere else--?

Give me a suggestion, Jinguji.

You could take the bullet train and go to Kanto for example. That's pretty far away.

"Kanto"--?

Wait, there's a train here?

Kanto is the region that was in the Pokémon games we had at home.

And yes. It's situated south from here.

The -- games we had at home?

[ THINKING... BACK... oh now he remembers!! Well, he vaguely remembers Kaoru asking him to trade or battle with Pokemon, fiddling around with those link cables, stuff like that -- ]

EHHH --

[ was about to ask "WE'RE IN THOSE GAMES?!" because he's -- slow, but then there's a more pressing question he gets to first -- ]

We can go to -- that place from here?!

...I had no idea...

[ Guess who most likely hasn't played the games since... the Red and Green versions, yeah. ]

[Well, they only had a chance of playing the first two ones anyway, so he's not really missing anything.]

Yeah. Johto is a completely new area, but it's linked to that place... I've heard it looks the same as it does in games.

[syochan]

[ He feels like he really missed something though!! He played games often enough, but never really kept up with particular series, so he feels a bit lost now. He had no idea this place was a new area of a video game series! ]

A new area...


-- So we'd even be able to go back to, like -- that first place you start out at? The little town with the lab?

[And finally, Masato decided to stop staring from the corner. Arms crossed and still frowning, he pushes himself from the wall and walks a little closer to answer this question.]

It would take some more travel, but you can visit the original town. It's at least three weeks travel, longer if you stop in the other cities.

[ Normally Shou would be all up for it if a longer trip would be better for Haruka, but he's already experienced travel here and it was still -- actually pretty difficult for him, if he were to admit it. So he'll look slightly uncertain, for once, and exchange glances with Haruka, Ren, and even Natsuki -- ]

Where do you all think we should go in Kanto, then?

-- I mean, I don't really remember too much about that place outside of that first area, that's all!

[pianosongs]

Not Celadon, that's for certain. If you're going to flee, for a while, it's best to avoid staying near the trains once you pass over to the region.

[He sighs softly. He doesn't remember much of it either, but he did do a bit of research.]

If none of you have a pokémon who knows Fly, then... you may want to acquire a bicycle. It'll make travel a bit faster, if you think you're able.

All right! How much do they cost?

[ HE'S BEEN WORKING, he should have enough, right?? ]

I'll probably get one! Maybe I can even get one for the others!

[ Meanwhile, he does have a Pokemon that can learn Fly, but it... probably hasn't learnt it yet, yeah. At least he'll be able to teach it the HM once he finds someone with it? ]

Bikes rather inexpensive. Only around... a thousand, I believe. I've got some saved up here you can use; save your funds for the journey.

[He hasn't really spent his own money this whole trip. He shrugs a little.]

We get money every week just for being in the team, so we can get you bicycles. You'll need the money for all kinds of other things on your journey.

A thousand sounds all right! I don't really want to take your money, but if you're offering... I guess it could help...

[ frowns a bit. Well, he probably should save what he can for the rest of the journey, right?-- ]

So, what else do we need to figure out, then?

Where to stay for nights. If you're going to Kanto is best to avoid cities like Saffron, Celadon or Vermillion. Cerulean city might work.
